Activity: We All Own the Problem
Provide students with question: Thinking of what we read for this class, have you seen or experienced exclusion in your education?
Classmates write down a short response.
We collect their responses and redistribute them back randomly.
Classmates are put into small groups with responses from other classmates.
Question: Take a look at the response you’ve been given from another classmate. What could we have done as educators to change that situation or to step in/advocate for a student with that problem, considering the methods from the reading? (small group discussion)
Bring the class back together. Repeat the question and hear some examples from each group.
