New Sun Directional Cartridge Valves

We have been busy at Sun developing new technologies and new designs for our
products. In addition to our recent FLeX family of valves, Sun is launching a new group of
directional cartridge valves aimed at delivering improved performance at market prices.

Attached is a document outlining nine new directional valves that will be replacing
specific existing solenoid-operated valves. The table on the next page outlines the new
models, the products they will be replacing, and the list prices for each of the valves.

The new valves offer substantial improvements over the existing valves in terms of price
and performance:

• Same cavity, same function - direct replacements for corresponding valves

• Less expensive than our standard directional valve products (savings from 15% to
32% off the list price of existing valves)
• Higher performance than Value Series
• Tested at full pressure and flow to more than 1 million operational cycles
• Compatible with FLeX 740 Series high-power solenoid coils
• Compatible with FLeX 747 Series hazardous location coils
• Reduces inventory mix by standardizing on FLeX coils
• Pressure rated to 5000 psi (350 bar) standard
• Zinc-nickel plating standard (no additional charge)

Keep in mind that the existing products will be phased out over an 18-month period,
giving you and your customers plenty of time to replace the current valves with the new
valves. Performance curves and technical specs for all these parts are now on the
website.

When you open your browser and first navigate to the existing valves, a message will pop
up indicating that the valve is being phased out, the timeframe in which the valve will
continue to be available, and a link to the new valve that will replace it.
