Things to note while attending Versant voice test:

➢ Be as audible as you can.

➢ Keep yourself isolated from others or any other noise.

➢ Listen to the voice very carefully.

➢ Never ever get tensed. If you do, you’ll lose your tone.

➢ Try to keep a normal slang by pronouncing each word properly.

PART A - READING - Read with medium speed with words clear.

PART B - REPEAT - Even if u miss it make the same tone sound.

PART C - ANSWER SIMPLE - Pronounce in write way (Expect little Neutral Accent)

PART D - SENTENCE BUILD - Be confident

PART E - OPEN QUESTION - Try to repeat some words which are in open questions or try to
repeat the question like we write in our exams. It will look for those keywords from question
within that you will cross 10 secs. Read for 20 sec without gap from part A it won't mind.
Never try to put accent when you talk, sound good, have a fresh energetic tone, don’t
stammer and don’t leave a pause or blank space.
Module 1 (Reading)

Please read the sentences as you are instructed.

It is the easiest part of the test. A voice will randomly ask you to read out any sentence of the
given twelve on your sheet itself. It will just say the number, you have to look at the number
and read the sentence.

For example, please read the sentence number 5, and you will locate where 5 is and read
the sentence with good pronunciation, loud and clear voice.

➢ There will be beeps in the test.

➢ After every beep (Cue) you need to recite the 1 sentence and then wait for the next
beep sound.

➢ Always speak in normal conversational speed for reading sentence.

➢ Avoid wrong pronunciation of words, try reciting sentences to a person who is good
in English and take Feedback

➢ Avoid your breathing voice to be heard over call, make sure microphone is a little far
from mouth.

➢ Don’t every stammer

➢ Avoid dead air

➢ Avoid fillers such as "uhms" and "ahh"

➢ Do not read it in a monotonic way, have intonation in your voice and read fluently.

Module 2 (Listening)

Please repeat each sentence that you hear.

A voice will say a sentence, listen to the voice and repeat. For Ex: leave town on the next train,
and you answer “Leave town on the next train”.

The length of the sentence will go on increase as you move forward.

In case you will miss on the sentence, go ahead and repeat whatever you heard even if it a
last two words of the sentence.

You will only get 1 chance to hear the sentence and it will not be repeated again.

Make sure that there is no background noise to hinder your listening skills.
Module 3 (Speaking)

IVR will speak a topic name

It will give you instruction that you have to wait for 30 secs, this time is intentionally given
to the user to think.

After 30 seconds are over you will hear a beep voice.

Post which you have to speak again for next 45 seconds on the topic that was given by you.

Module 4 (Questions):

Please just give a simple answer to the questions.

Simple common sense-based questions will be asked. You just have to give one-word correct
answer. For Ex: An Orange, a fruit or a vegetable, and your answer would be “fruit “or “a
fruit”.

If you take too long to answer the whole question, it will jump to a new question and you will
lose marks for this. Sometimes answer will be in the question itself or it will be a direct
question.

Module 5 (Sentence building)

A jumbled sentence will come up and you will to re-arrange that sentence to form a correct
one. Length of the sentence will go on increase as you move forward similar to Part-B. For Ex:
“was reading…..my mother…. Her favourite magazine” and you re-frame it as “my mother was
reading her favourite magazine”.

No matter what the length of the sentence is every sentence is broken up only into 3 parts.

Module 6 (Speak on a Topic)

You will hear three questions about family life or personal choices. Each question will be
spoken twice, followed by a beep. When you hear the beep, you will have 40 seconds to
answer the question. You will hear another beep at the end of the 40 seconds.
For Ex: Given a choice to choose between friends and family, what would you choose and
why? Usual tip would be talk to minimum of 15 seconds and more if you are not able to stretch
answer for twenty seconds. Whatever you talk is going to be correct because there are no
right or wrong answers. Fluency and pronunciation is the key to score marks in this section.
I would suggest to be ready with 3 simple paragraphs with proper English words and read it
out loud and clear in this section. Remember it’s not fast reading contest.
