Lesson One: Preposition

Bring to Class: Video about preposition


Level: Beginner Level;
Time: 15 Minutes
Goal:
By the end of the lesson students will be able to remembering the prepositions and identifying the purpose
of preposition.

Objectives:
By the end of the lesson:

Students will be able to identifies the purpose of prepositions.

Students will be able to describes the usage of prepositions.

Lesson Materials:
Youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYerFOnPxu8);
Laptop,
OHP/LCD Projector
Sound system
Whiteboard and Marker
Rational:
This lesson is using communicative and affective approaches with the Communicative Language
Teaching method. The language skills will be taught in integrated ways throughout the teaching and learning
process. Some techniques like asking students to draw a picture will be used in the teaching and learning process.
The students will also be engaged with individual work about the prepositions. By using the approaches, methods,
and techniques mentioned above, it is expected that the students will be able to develop their knowledge about
the content and then eventually will develop their communicative competences using the target language.

ACTIVITY PROCEDURES TIME

Pre-Activity Greeting the students by Salam. 5 minutes


Checking students’ attendance.
Pray together.
Teacher starts the class by showing a youtube video about
the song of preposition and asking students to singing together.
Questioning students’, what the material they are going to
learn in the meeting.

While-Activity Teacher shows the students the material about preposition 8 minutes
from laptop and explain it by using the blackboard .
Asking students’ to drawing some pictures from teacher
instruction.( if the time is still available)

Post-Activity Teacher and students review the lesson together, reminding 2 Minutes
students about the lesson they have just learned;
Teacher reminds students to improve and practice the
English in their daily conversation, and closes the lesson.

Evaluation/Assessment:
The achievement of this lesson is evaluated and assessed throughout the teaching and learning
processes in the classroom. Students’ performances in creating an imaginative drawing from the teacher
instruction will be the indication of successful teaching and learning process of this lesson.

Backup Plan:
Teacher provides students with a body language to inform the material, just in case of the power
outage or it does not work. Then, asks the students to follow teacher instruction.

Self-Evaluation or Reflection:
Time allocation which is provided in the teaching and learning process will not give much contribution
to students’ mastery of the content as well as the target language itself. Thus, the students are expected to
use their time outside the classroom to explore more about the lesson and the target language. Besides,
students who are used to work individually will have problems when they are assigned to work in pairs or
group.
