Subject: 150’x400’ Steel Shed at Sabji Mandi Jalandhar

With reference to the letter no. ATPB/60/PMB/Mandis Dated 16 Oct. 18, point wise explanation is given
below:

1. BEARING CAPACITY – The steel shed which has been Designed for Mandi is a common for all over
Punjab state. This Steel shed is safe for bearing capacity of soil lies from 8 T/m2 to 12 T/m2. The
steel shed foundation has been checked and founded safe in all aspects.

2. WIND BRACING – It is found in the design of this steel shed that there is no need to provide top and
side bracing at every alternate panel/bay. The provided top and side bracing is adequate and
founded to be safe in all aspects.

3. TURBO VENTILATORS –Steel structure that we were designed is opened from all the four sides for
the provision of crossing wind. So therefore there is need to provide Turbo ventilators at the top of
steel shed. However if client want to provided/installed ventilators provide at their own end. Turbo
ventilators need a specific air pressure to rotate and create suction effect for the ventilation.
