+ Soft molasses cookies * * * 3/4 cup evaporated milk (mix with 3/4 tablespoon of vinegar and let sit for a minute) Tegg 1 tsp salt 1-1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup molasses 1 tsp. ginger 3-1/2 cup flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 cup shortening (or butter, but it’s not as good) 2 tsp. baking soda Frosting: Mix 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons (or more as needed) milk Cookies: Preheat oven to 375. Mix egg, shortening, sugar and molasses. Add the dry in- gredients, alternating with the evaporated milk/vinegar mix. Drop spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for about 9 minutes. Cool and frost. ~ ~ +4 Soft sugar cookies x * * 1 cup butter For the frosting: 1-1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cup vegetable shortening 2eggs 2 tablespoons milk 1 cup sour cream 2+ cups of powdered sugar 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla 4-1/2 cups of flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda Beat the butter; then add in sugar and beat until fluffy. Add in eggs and mix. Add sour cream and vanilla and mix. Mix dry ingredients together and gradually add them to the wet mixture. When all the flour is added, the mixture will still be a little wet. Refrigerate for sev- eral hours or overnight. Roll the dough to 1/2-inch thick on a floured surface. If the dough sticks, use additional flour. Use cutters to create the shapes you want. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool in wire rack. Use canned frosting if you're in a hurry. Otherwise, mix the vegetable shortening and milk together. Gradually add powdered sugar until it reaches the consistency you want. Add sprinkles and other decorations. Note: Allow plenty of time for the cookies to dry. If you don't, the cookies will } stick when you put them away. Ritz Crackers 1 box Ritz crackers Jar of peanut butter 1 24 oz. package chocolate almond bark Red and green sprinkles (optional) -+- Chocolate-Covered A A At Melt the chocolate almond bark, according to the directions. Spread peanut butter on one Ritz cracker. Put a second one on top to make a sandwich. Immerse the Ritz sandwich in the chocolate with tongs. Set the covered sandwich on waxed paper. Add sprinkles if desired.
