Golden rules
• When faced with aggressive behavior:
-- Remain calm.
-- Ask for concrete things (be factual).
-- Ask what their priority needs are, and work with them to find possible options.
-- Build the project along with the person concerned and emphasize what is useful
for them personally.
• When faced with manipulative behavior:
-- Spot the manipulation.
-- Keep written records of facts and of what they say.
-- Ask what they really want; what their intentions are.
-- Get them to say things to the right person at the right time in the right place.
• When faced with a person who lacks self-confidence, help them to succeed:
-- Propose an easy activity with a precise objective.
-- Reassure them and highlight their value to you.
-- Ask them closed questions.
-- Give them precise demands.
-- Maintain warm, friendly relations.
-- Take your time, try again if necessary and plan things with them.
