Program Overview
Based on the Chinese government’s “One Belt One
Road” initiative and the strategy to build “three
major infrastructure networks and industrialization”
for Africa, as well as the vision of ITU to boost
development in Africa information technology, we
proposed the program of Africa Information
Superhighway. It aims to get all parties, including
Chinese and African governments, enterprises and
international organizations, together in the
investment, construction and operation of the optic
backbone network featuring “eight vertical and eight
horizontal lines” that connects all African countries.
