AN INNOVATIVE HUMAN AREA NETWORKING TECHNOLOGY
ABSTRACT:
Technology is developing day by day and it
resulted in a highly sophisticated life.
Science had made impossible things to
become possible. We humans have divine
power within us which makes our dreams
true. The new innovative technological
invention “RedTacton” is an outstanding
example to us. Can we transfer information
from one person to other just by shaking
hands? This thought was come to
Hippocrates the father of human biology.
This mind blowing thought is going to
change the whole world within a few years.
The word, "Tacton" because with this
technology, communication starts by
touching (Touch), leading to various actions
(Act on). And the color red is to convey the
meaning of warmth in communication.
Combining these phrases led to the name,
"RedTacton". RedTacton is a new Human
Area Networking technology that uses the
surface of the human body as a safe, high
speed network transmission path. It is
completely distinct from wireless and
infrared technologies as it uses the minute
electric field emitted on the surface of the
human body.
Using RedTacton-enabled devices, music
from a digital audio player in your pocket
would pass through your clothing and shoot
over your body to headphones in your ears.
Instead of fiddling around with a cable to
connect your digital camera to your
computer, you could transfer pictures just by
touching the PC while the camera is around
your neck. And since data can pass from one
body to another, you could also exchange
electronic business cards by shaking hands,
trade music files by dancing cheek to cheek,
or swap phone numbers just by kissing.

INTRODUCTION:
Human society is entering an era of
ubiquitous computing, when networks are
seamlessly interconnected and information
is always accessible at our fingertips. The
practical implementation of ubiquitous
services requires three levels of
connectivity: Wide Area Networks (WAN),
typically via the Internet, to remotely
connect all types of severs and terminals;
Local Area Networks (LAN), typically via
Ethernet or WiFi connectivity among all the
information and communication appliances
in offices and homes; and Human Area
Networks (HAN) for connectivity to
personal information, media and
communication appliances within the much
smaller sphere of ordinary daily activities--
the last one meter. NTT's RedTacton is a
break-through technology that, for the first
time, enables reliable high-speed HAN. In
the past, Bluetooth, infrared
communications (IrDA), radio frequency ID
systems (RFID), and other technologies
have been proposed to solve the "last meter"
connectivity problem. However, they each
have various fundamental technical
limitations that constrain their usage, such as
the precipitous fall-off in transmission speed
in multi-user environments producing
network congestion. Communication is
possible using any body surfaces, such as
the hands, fingers, arms, feet, face, legs or
torso. RedTacton works through shoes and
clothing as well. When the physical contact
gets separated, the communication is ended.
TECHNICAL OVERVIEW:
By making Human Area Networks feasible,
RedTacton will enable ubiquitous services
based on human-centered interactions and
therefore more intimate and easier for
people to use. RedTacton takes a different
technical approach. Instead of relying on
electromagnetic waves or light waves to
carry data, RedTacton uses weak electric
fields on the surface of the body as a
transmission medium. A RedTacton
transmitter couples with extremely weak
electric fields on the surface of the body.
The weak electric fields pass through the
body to a RedTacton receiver, where the
weak electric field affects the optical
properties of an electro-optic crystal. The
extent to which the optical properties are
changed is detected by laser light which is
then converted to an electrical signal by a
detector circuit.
A communications path can be created with
a simple touch, automatically initiating the
flow of data between a body-centric
electronic device and a computer that is
embedded in the environment. For example,
two people equipped with RedTacton
devices could exchange data just by shaking
hands. A wide range of natural human
actions -- grasping, sitting down, walking, or
standing in a particular place -- can be used
to trigger RedTacton to start a networked
process. RedTacton can achieve duplex
communication over the human body at a
maximum speed of 10 Mbps. The
RedTacton transmitter induces a weak
electric field on the surface of the body.
The electric field sensor (transistor or
photonic electric field sensor) detects
electric field that reaches the RedTacton
receiver. Signals are processed in the
receiver circuit and the data is downloaded.
The transmitter sends data based on
fluctuations in the weak electric field
induced in the body. The electric field is
received using super-sensitive electric field
sensing technology. The naturally occurring
electric field induced on the surface of the
human body dissipates into the earth.
Therefore, this electric field is exceptionally
faint and unstable the super-sensitive
electric field sensing technology measures
the weak electric fields induced by the
super-efficient alternating electric field
induction technology developed by
NTT.
FEATURES:

Touching, gripping, sitting, walking,
stepping and other human movements can be the
triggers for unlocking or locking, starting or
stopping equipment, or obtaining data. Using
RedTacton, communication starts when terminals
carried by the user or embedded in devices are
linked in various combinations through physical
contact according to the human's natural
movements.
 BROADBAND INTERACTIVE:
Duplex, interactive communication is
possible at a maximum speed of 10Mbps*.

in congested areas where many people are

FUTURE
RedTacton has a wide range of unique new

committed to quickly identifying and opening up
those application areas with the most commercial
promise for RedTacton, a business development

RedTacton transceiver electrodes are covered with
an insulating film, so there is no way that current
from RedTacton can flow into the user's body. Note
however that, just like the weak electromagnetic
waves produced by most common electrical
appliances, a faint modulating displacement current
does pass through the body when using RedTacton.
The level of displacement current involved is
considered harmless and is in full compliance with
the Association of Radio Industries and Businesses
(ARIB). But apart from that, why bother with
RedTacton when Bluetooth can already do the job
wirelessly? With Bluetooth, it is difficult to rein in
the signal and restrict it to the device you are trying
to connect to. You usually want to communicate
with one particular thing, but in a busy place there
could be hundreds of Bluetooth devices
within range.
Besides, humans apparently make poor aerials,
something which is good for security because even
if you encrypt data it is still possible that it could be
decoded, but if you can’t pick it up it can’t
be cracked.

CONCLUSION

Intuition, creativity and logic are very powerful

tools in any intellectual human activity. Human
creative ideas (and even ivory towers) are moving
force in many of them. But only experience could
prove if these rational and creative insights are
correct. In addition to reality check against the real
world, experience is irreplaceable source of the new
ideas, theories and concepts.
