Based on the data collected for your research project, please perform suitable analysis and answer the
following questions.

a) Does the instrument meet the reliability standard? Please provide evidence.
Yes, it does. This has been done using SPSS 25 software. We have done this by analyzing factors for
Student Academic Performance.

I am able to get good grades 36,55 15,258 ,431 ,773
on examination.

From the analyzing the data of Student Motivation, we can see that the Cronbach’s Alpha is 0.788 which it
is mean that the reliability of the data from this factor is acceptable.

2. Reliability of Teaching Method

After we analyze the data, as we can see bellow as the result the data of Teaching Method. We can see that
the Cronbach’s Alpha is 0.742 which it is mean that the reliability of the data from this factor is acceptable.

3. Reliability of Student Motivation

The analyzing of this factor by spss resulted thatCronbach’s Alpha for Student Motivation is 0.857 which it
is mean that the reliability of the data from this factor is good.

class.

4. Reliability of Attendance

After analyzed this factor we can know that the Cronbach’s Alpha is 0.477. it is mean that this factor is unacceptable so it is not
reliable.

I think it is important to 15,10 5,840 ,205 ,454
attend all the classes.
I seldom miss the class 15,52 4,574 ,440 ,280
I attend the class on regular 15,32 5,216 ,432 ,319
basis.
I attend the class because I 15,14 5,936 ,252 ,428
want to obtain important
I often come late to class 16,15 5,574 ,064 ,596

The result of analyzing all factors through data analysis with SPSS, we can see that some factors are reliable
because it is fulfill the criteria for the Cronbach’s Alpha dergrees. But unfortuantely the degree for
Attendance is very low it is mean that data for attendance is not reliable or unacepptable.

b) Does the data distribute normally? Please provide evidence.

Yes, it does. Since the normality test is used to determine whether the data is normal and consistent.
Skewness and Kurtosis were adopted to carry out normality tests in this study. As shown in table
below, the calculated results indicate that the data is normal and acceptable. The results showed that
all items from the Skewness test variables were less than 2 and they were either positive or negative
while in the Kurtosis test they were not more than 7. This indicates that the Skewness results were
less than 2 and the Kurtosis results were less than 7. These results met the request most rigorous of
multivariate normality of variance.

d) State the IV and DV involves in that analysis.

Dv : Student performance
Iv : - Student motivation
- Teaching Methods
- Attendance

e) Does IV influence DV? Please justify.

The focus of this research works primarily to study the effect of student motivation, teaching
methods, and attendance on the academic performance of students at the Universiti Utara Malysia.
The relevance of research can contribute to theory and practice. From a theoretical perspective, this
study aims to contribute to the debate by exploring the influence of student motivation, teaching
methods, and attendance on student academic performance in the Malaysian context. In addition, it
looks for the role of student motivation, teaching methods, and attendance on students 'academic
performance in influencing students' academic performance.

f) Does IV well explain the level of DV? Please justify.

Generally, students consist of two groups, for example those who increase and those who do not
increase. The inconsistency of student performance at Universiti Utara Malaysia has motivated
researchers to conduct research on student performance. This study examines the factors that
influence student academic achievement and find out what needs to be done to improve academic
achievement at Universiti Utara Malaysia. In this study, researchers conducted a research on
Cumulative Average Class Students (CGPA). This research is to find out the factors that influence
student performance from the third to seventh semester. In this study also, researchers tried to
investigate several identified factors that could be controlled by students and could affect their
performance.
This research has been conducted to analyze the factors that influence academic performance. It also
examines determinants that may have a certain level of relevance in influencing student academic
performance.
Achievement motivation is a ubiquitous feature of everyday life. In classrooms, at work, and in the
racing arena, individuals strive to be competent in their business activities. In the last decade, many
theorists have used a social cognitive goal approach, achieving in accounting for relevant individual
competency efforts.

g) Develop the null and alternative hypotheses (refer question g).

Hypothesis 1
H1: Motivation positively influences the academic performance of students at Universiti Utara
Malaysia
Table x, shows that the teaching method has a beta value of 1.712 which indicates that the teaching
method has a positive relationship with student academic performance. Because the significant value
of 0,000 is lower than 0.05, the hypothesis is supported. There is sufficient evidence to support H1.
This shows that there is a positive relationship between teaching methods and student academic
performance.
Hypothesis 2
H2: Teaching methods positively influence student academic performance at Universiti Utara
Malaysia
Table X shows that the beta value of time management is 0.256. Thus, the teaching method is
positively related to student academic performance. Because the significant value of 0,000 is lower
than 0.05, the hypothesis is supported by sufficient evidence. This shows that there is a positive
relationship between teaching methods and student academic performance.
Hypothesis 3
H3: Student presence positively influences student academic achievement at Universiti Utara
Malaysia
Table X shows that the beta value of time management is 0.034. Because the significant value is
0.409 more than 0.05. Attendance is not significantly related to the student's academic performance
hypothesis not supported by sufficient evidence. This shows that there is no significant relationship
between student attendance and student academic achievement.

h) If you want to compare the level of your DV between male and female, what types of statistical test
that you should perform? Please provide the outputs.
Using Descriptive Analysis

Gender of the Respondents

Gender
Valid Cumulative
Frequency Percent Percent Percent
Valid male 150 48.4 48.4 48.4
female 160 51.6 51.6 100.0
Total 310 100.0 100.0

This diagram shows the frequency of the respondent’s gender. From the pie chart above, most of the
respondents are female which consist of 51,61% (160 respondents) and male respondents consist of 48,39%
(150 respondents).
