Below is the information you were after on options for directing MTM to remove Sky News from the being shown in
city loop stations. Option 1 will support an announcement tomorrow. The second and any longer term options
would be the subject of further advice if you’d like us to work that up.

Potential Responses
Re

In response to your request to explore ways in which the risk of inappropriate news being features on the 32 digital screens in
the city loop stations can be mitigated 30(1) proposals are outline below:

1. Short Term - Removal of Sky news from the content loop

Metro enacts its contractual right to give directions to XTD to remove the content that does not comply with the content
requirements of the MR4 Passenger Experience Module.
In doing this there is a contractual obligation to act in good faith and to provide reasons for our directions.

How
• We are able to request that just the News element is removed from the loop.
• Once the request is made, content can take up to 30 minutes to be removed from the loop.

Governance
• XTD will be required to put in place a review process (to be approved by Metro) that would provide better oversight of what
content is running on the XTD network

Note, sky news also provide the weather and sports feed.
