ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine the factors that influenced the Grade 10

Junior High School Students of Bislig City National High School in choosing

their Senior High Track Preferences. There were 127 students who served as

the respondents of the study. This study utilizes descriptive method of research

to determine the factors that would greatly influenced the students in choosing

their Senior High School Track. It would see if the independent variables which

are the factors namely: Family Background Information, Job Opportunities,

Peer/Classmates and Personality really cause changes to the dependent

variable which is the Track Preferences of Grade 10 Students. The descriptive

research used qualitative methods to assess the feedback from the

respondents.

Survey questionnaires are given to the respondents to conduct the study

personally using stratified random sampling and are collected after to gather all

the data. The researcher uses the mathematical treatment Frequency

Distribution, Mean Percentage Score and Weighted Mean to analyze and

tabulate the data. By the following conclusion made recommendation is drawn

to give advices to avoid misfit of preferred track.
