Task:

As a geotechnical engineer you will develop a professional geotechnical report for your client ‘Eco
Now Homes’.

To be successful:
You will:

 produce a professional project final report for a client

 using the supplied borehole data to evaluate the soil to classify the given site
 based on the site classification, site preparation works is to be recommended as per
Australian standards AS 2870-2011
 identify the best location of the building within the given site

Note:
 Minimum setback is 4m and 1m for the front and back parts respectively of the proposed
residential building.
 For cohesive soil, maximum slope angle = 30° for soil fill and maximum slope angle = 45° for
soil cut are used. For cohesionless soil, maximum slope angle = 30° is used.
 If your building length is larger than the site length by considering the space for cut and fill,
you can adopt maximum length when cut and fill are applied.
 Foundation designed is not required and location is our focus.
 If give information is not sufficient, rational assumptions can be made, particularly for the
soil profiles between 2 borelogs.

Borehole log:

 Assume the supplied borelog starts from the ground surface.

 If your supplied borelog is one, assume its profile is parallel to the ground surface.,
 If the supplied borelogs are two, assume they divide the land into 3 parts uniformly. The
orders can be seen below.

orders can be seen below
