Labbayk Allaahumma bi Hajj
Here I am (O Allaah), at Your service, making Hajj.
If one fears that he may be prevented from completing the legislated rites of Hajj
he may stipulate a condition by saying,

Allaahumma mahillee haythu habastanee

If I am prevented by an obstacle then my place is where You prevent me.
Then, if an obstacle strikes him he leaves the state of ihraam and no expiation is
due from him.

8
"Labbayk, Allaahumma Labbayk. Labbayk. Laa shareeka laka. Labbayk.
Innal-hamda wan-n'imatah laka wal-mulk. Laa shareeka lak."

Here I am at Your service, O Lord, here I am. No partner do You have. Here I am.
Truly, the praise and the favor is Yours, and the dominion. No partner do You have.

9
 Proceed to Mina on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah.

 Pray the Dhuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, 'Ishaa and Fajr salaah at their proper times,
shortening salaah of four (4) raka„aat to two (2) raka„aat. Do not combine
these salaah.

 Spend the day in `ibaadaat, invoking Allaah.

 Pilgrims must spend the nights in Mina during the Hajj, except on the 9th.

 After stoning on 12th you may leave but staying is preferable. If leaving it
must be before Maghrib.

10
 9th Dhul-Hijjah – Leave Mina after Fajr for `Arafah.

 Continue making Talbiyyah.

 Spend the day making du‟aa, seeking forgiveness, and making dhikr.

 Pray Dhuhr and „Asr combined and shortened, with one adhaan and two
iqaamahs.

 The wuqoof (standing) starts after the sun passes its zenith and after
performing the Dhuhr and `Asr salaah.

11
 It is reported that the Prophet r used to say the following supplication:

Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdah, Laa shareeka lah.

Lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shayin qadeer.
None is truly worthy of worship except Allaah alone, without partner.
The Dominion and the Praise are His and He has power over everything.

 Depart for Muzdalifah after sunset.

12
 At Muzdalifah, perform Maghrib and „Ishaa
combined and shortened, with one adhaan and
two iqaamahs.

 Sleep until Fajr.

 Pray Fajr salaah in Muzdalifah; remember Allaah

much and supplicate to Him.

 Collect seven (7) pebbles the size of chickpeas

while in Muzdalifah, on the way to Mina, or in
Mina.

13
 On the 10th stone the Jamaraat al „Aqabah with 7 pebbles
– one pebble at a time.
 Say “Allaahu Akbar” with each throw
 On the 11th – 13th, collect 21 pebbles to stone all three
Jamaraat.
The original size of the Jamarah
 On 10th – stone Big Jamrah between sunrise and sunset.
 On 11th-13th stone Jamaraat after dhuhr.
 While stoning, stand with Makkah to your left and Mina to
your right.
 Be careful when stoning. There is no need to collect large
stones and throw with extra force. The current size of the Jamarah

14
 10th Dhul-Hijjah is called Yawmul-Nahr (The Day of the Sacrifice)

 A sheep or one-seventh of a camel or cow must be slaughtered.

 If one cannot afford the sacrifice, they must fast ten (10) days - three (3)
days during the Hajj and seven (7) after returning home. It is preferable to
fast these three days before the Day of `Arafah (9th of Dhul-Hijjah).

After throwing the pebbles and performing the sacrifice, shave/cut the hair
to partially exit the state of ihraam. Sexual intercourse with your spouse is
still prohibited. This is the first tahallul, i.e., returning to one„s normal state.
Normal clothes and perfume may be used.

15
 Go to Makkah and perform tawaaf the same as for
`Umrah except that the men do not do ramal (jog) or
idtibaa‟ (expose right shoulder). Yemeni
Corner
 Recap of Tawaaf:
 Begin in a state of ritual purity.
 Start in line with the Black Stone. Point to it and say
“Allaahu Akbar”, begin walking with Kab‟ah to your left.
 Recite any du‟aa, Qur‟aan, or adhkaar.
 Between Yemeni Corner and Black Stone say:

Rabbanaa aatinaa fid-dunyaa hasanah, wa fil-Aakhirati hasanah, wa qinaa adhaab an-naar

Our Lord give us good in this world, and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of
the Fire.
 Reaching the Black Stone completes a circuit. Repeat 6 more times for a total of 7 circuits.
16
 After completing 7 circuits, approach the Maqam--Ibraaheem and say,

Wat-takhidhoo mim-maqaami Ibraaheema musallaa

And take you (people) the Maqaam (place) of
Ibraaheem as a place of prayer. [Al-Baqarah 2:125]

 Then pray 2 rak‟ah behind it reciting soorah Al-

Kaafiroon in the first rak‟ah and soorah Al-Ikhlaas
in the second.
 You may drink zamzam water, then go to the Sa‟ee area. Point to the Black
Stone as you leave, and say “Allaahu Akbar” before reaching Sa‟ee.

17
 Proceed to As-Safa and climb it if possible. Face the Ka‟bah, raise hands in
supplication, and say:

Innas-Safaa wal-Marwata min sha`aairllaahi fa man hajjal-bayta aw-`itamara fa laa junaaha

`alayhi an yat-tawwafa bi himaa wa man tatawwa`a khayran fa inna-llaaha shaakirun `aleem
{Verily! as-Safaa and al-Marwah are of the Symbols of Allaah. So it is not a sin on him who
performs Hajj or 'Umrah of the House to perform the Tawaaf between them. And whoever
does good voluntarily, then verily, Allaah is All-Recogniser, All-Knower.} [Al-Baqarah 2:158]

 Then still facing the Ka‟bah on As-Safaa, say:

Abda’u bi maa bada’allaahu bih – I begin with what Allaah began.
 This is said only once - at the time you are starting Sa`ee.
18
 Then still facing the Ka‟bah, say “Allahu Akbar” 3 times and say the du‟aa:

Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdah, laa shareeka lah. Lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa 'ala kulli shayin
qadeer. Laa illaha illallaahu wahdah, anjaza wa‟dah, wa nasara `abdah, wa hazamal-ahzaaba wahdah.
There is no god worthy of worship except Allaah, the One without a partner. His is the dominion and His
is the praise, and He has power over everything. There is no god worthy of worship except Allaah, alone.
He fulfilled His promise, and supported His slave, and defeated the parties (of the unbelievers) alone.

 The Sunnah is to repeat this du‟aa three times, making other du‟aa after the first
and second times. After the third time you proceed with walking to Al-Marwah.

19
 On the way to Al-Marwah supplicating to Allaah.
 Men must run/jog between the two green
markers each time they pass.
 Arriving at Al-Marwah completes one circuit.
 At Al-Marwah, do as you did on as-Safaa by
repeating the supplications 3 times whilst
facing the Ka‟bah at the foot of Al-Marwah.

 Then start the journey back to As-Safaa, doing as you did before.
 After completing the seventh circuit and reaching Al-Marwah the Sa‟ee is
complete. The total distance covered for all 7 trips is approx. 2 miles.
 It is better to be in a state of purification but it is not necessary for Sa‟ee.

20
 This is done by shaving/cutting the hair. It is better for men to shave their
head and for women to cut their hair the length of a fingertip.

 Partial exiting of ihraam occurs on the 10th after the

sacrifice and stoning of the Jamarah al-Aqabah.
 All prohibitions lifted except that of sexual relations
with spouse.
 Complete exiting of ihraam occurs after Tawaaf al-Ifaadah
and, sa`ee.
 All prohibitions are lifted.

21
 Each day after Dhuhr, stone the three Jamaraat (the small, the medium, and
the Jamarah al-Aqabah).

 The old, sick , pregnant, unable etc. may

deputize someone to stone on their behalf.
The deputy would throw on his own behalf
and then on behalf of the other person(s).

 Staying in Mina the nights of the 11th and

12th is an obligation.

 After stoning on the 12th one may leave

before Maghrib, but staying the night of the
13th is more perfect.

22
 Perform Tawaaf as it was done for
Tawaaf al-Ifaadah.

 Pray the 2 raka‟aat behind the Maqaam-

Ibraaheem.

 Sa`ee is not required.

 This should be done at the very end of

your stay in Makkah, before departure.

23
So when you have accomplished
your manaasik (i.e. the rites of Hajj)
remember Allaah as you remember
your forefathers or with a far more
remembrance. [Al-Baqarah 2:200]
