RULE ON SMALL CLAIMS CASES
1. Cases for the payment of money where the value of
the claim DOES NOT exceed P200K, exclusive of interest
and costs, & in w/c the claims are purely civil in nature
where the claim or relief prayed for by the PT is solely for
payment or reimbursement of sum of money.
The claim or demand may be:
(a) For money owed under any of the ff:
1. Contract of Lease
2. Contract of Loan
3. Contract of Services
4. Contract of Sale
5. Contract of Mortgage
(b) For LIQUIDATED DAMAGES arising from contracts
(c) The enforcement of a brgy. amicable settlement or an

CIVIL CASES COVERED
1. All cases of FE & UD irrespective of the amount of
damages or unpaid rentals sought to be recovered. Where
atty's fees are awarded, the same shall NOT EXCEED P20K
2. All other cases, except probate proceedings, where the Code are filed may, at any time before trial, motu proprio refer the case
total amount of PT's claim DOES NOT exceed P100K or DOES to the lupon concerned for amicable settlement.
NOT exceed P200K in MM, exclusive of interests & costs.
CRIMINAL CASES COVERED
BARANGAY CONCILIATION
All disputes involving parties who actually reside in the SAME city or
municipality may be the subject of the proceedings for amicable
settlement in the brgy. Except:
a. Where one party is the GOVT, or any subd. or instrumentality thereof
b. Where one party is a PO or EE, & the dispute relates to the
performance of his official functions
c. Offenses punishable by Imprisonment EXCEEDING 1 yr or a fine
exceeding P5K
d. Offenses where there is NO PRIVATE OFFENDED PARTY
e. Where the dispute involves REAL PROP. located in DIFFERENT C/M
unless the parties agree to submit their differences to amicable
settlement by an appropriate lupon
f. Disputes involving parties who ACTUALLY reside in brgys of DIFFERENT
C/M, except where such brgy units ADJOIN each other & the parties
agree to submit their differences to amicable settlement by an
appropriate lupon
g. Disputes DETERMINED by the PRESIDENT in the interest of justice or
upon the RECOMMENDATION of theSEC. OF JUSTICE. The court in w/c
non-crim cases NOT falling w/in the authority of the lupon under this
