Introduction

• What is Well Stimulation?

Well stimulation is a well intervention performed on an oil or gas well
to increase production by improving the flow of hydrocarbons from
the drainage area into the well bore. (Wikipedia)

• What if Well cannot be discharged?

Wellbore condition (P&T) stimulated so that well can be discharged
Initiating Discharge

Well discharge simulated using AF/AC

method (Sta. Ana, 1985)
• Af/AC < 0.70  little chance
• Af/Ac > 0.85  Excellent chance of
successful discharge
• Af/Ac = 0.70 – 0.85  Uncertain
chances

– to breathe loudly, usually after physical exercise
(dictionary.cambridge.org)
– Slang term for a cyclic process in which a well is injected with a
recovery enhancement fluid and, after a soak period, the well is put
back on production (glossary.oilfield.slb.com)
