It is a procedure of Shangri-La Hotel Qaryat Al Beri Abu Dhabi to post the following
Pool “Rules & Regulations” at the entrance of respective property’s swimming
pools and to strictly comply with them. The rules in bold characters are the
compulsory ones to post; the others may be posted if enough space on the board.
It is also a policy of Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts for each property to ensure that
the “Rules & Regulations” are written in English, the local language of the country
the property is present.

HEALTH RULES
• Wear proper swimming attire. No cut offs allowed in pool. No nudity is
allowed.
• Swimmers are requested to shower before using the swimming pool.
• No cloth or disposable diapers will be allowed in the water. – “Swimmies” will be
required for all children that wear diapers. The pool will close for at least 1 hour if
feces or vomit are identified in any of the pools.
• No one with open sores or wearing bandages/band aids should enter the pool.
• No person shall use the swimming pool while knowingly suffering from any
contagious or skin disease. Prior consultation with a physician is advisable.
• No gum. No spitting. No food or drinks are to be taken into the water. Food
and drinks are allowed in designated areas only.
• Only food and beverage served by the resort may be consumed within the
designated pool area.
• Please put litter in proper receptacles.

SAFETY RULES
Lifeguards/Pool Attendants are on duty for your safety. Do not distract them in any way.
If you need to talk with one of them, wait until he/she is away from their guarding post.

• The swimming pool is open from …am to …pm


• The swimming pool is for the use of resort residence, health club/resort
members and their guests only.
• Children under 12 years old are not allowed into the pools, Jacuzzis,

waterslides and the immediate areas around the pools unless supervised by
an adult, who shall be responsible for their safety.
• Elderly persons, expectant women and people with health conditions
requiring medical care should avoid entering the Jacuzzis and pool.
• Glass containers are not permitted in the pool area.
• Caution. Floor is slippery when wet. Walk. Don’t run!
• No alcohol or tobacco products allowed near the children’s pools.
• Swimming under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited.
• No skateboards, scooters, bicycles, roller skates, or roller blades in the pool area.
• No pets allowed.
• No electric/electronic appliances (radio, mini-TV) around the swimming pool
• Nobody is allowed to swim when there is heavy-rain, thunderstorms or
lightning. The swimming pool will be closed during these inclement
conditions.
• Guests using the swimming pool do so at their own risk. The resort
management is not responsible for any injury or accident sustained by
guest and to those guests who do not know how to swim while using the
swimming pool or in the vicinity of the pool area.
• Guests are reminded not to leave their valuables unattended. The
management regrets that it cannot accept responsibility for losses occurring
within the pool area.
• The use of air mattresses and large inflatable toys is up to the lifeguard/pool
attendant on duty. This depends on the number of individuals that are swimming
at the time.
• Toys may be allowed but must be of soft material. Acceptable toys will be left to
the discretion of the lifeguard/pool attendant on duty.
• No dunking or throwing people into the pool.
• Climbing on the poles, fences, trash receptacle, guard chairs, pool covers,
etc., is prohibited.
• Games must be kept in areas designated by the staff. No wrestling or “chicken
fights,”
• Running, pushing or rough play on the deck is not allowed.
• Pool ladders are for getting out of the water, don’t linger or play on them.
• Excessive public displays of affection in the water are not allowed.
• Diving is allowed only in the diving well.
• Users of the wading pool must be accompanied and supervised by an adult
at all times.
• The swimming pool is closed from …pm to …am. It is strictly prohibited to
swim while the pool is closed. No lifeguards/pool attendants are on duty.

If there is some maintenance done during the closing time, please add:
• From …pm., our pool attendants conduct pool maintenance and water
treatment. Swimming is strictly prohibited after…pm.
