Global Awareness Reflection Paper:

The purpose of this reflection paper is to help you move beyond research and into the area of action and
change. You all will be the leaders of tomorrow, and reflecting on the things you have learned throughout this
project will help make you a better leader, one who is more aware of the impact of events around the globe.

For this paper, I would like for you to reflect on the research process and the event you selected. In your paper,
address the following questions:
● What did you learn from this project? That is, what deeper understanding do you have about
civilizations around the world.
● In what ways are you more aware of human rights violations and civil unrest around the globe?
● What, if any, actions do you plan to take, even if the action is just staying informed?
● How does this event impact your life? How can this event impact the rest of the world?
● How effective is your collaboration? Do you feel you learn more working with others than when you
work alone?

Your paper needs to be at least 2 pages long, in 12 pt. font, either Times New Roman or Arial, and double-
spaced. It should be edited for spelling and grammar errors before submission. It should follow a proper essay
format - paragraphs indented, transitions used throughout, and a title. The top of your paper needs to look like
this (the first 5 lines flush left, and the title centered):
Your name
Class
Class Period
My Name
Date
Title
The first 5 lines should be single spaced, but beginning with the title, double-spaced.

Note: Give your paper an actual title! Don’t say, “Mrs. McCabe’s Reflection,” say something like, “Reflecting on
the impact of the Syrian Civil War,” etc.

Second Note: For a paper to be two pages long (and considering the heading above takes up space too) it
must go onto the third page. You may choose to write more, but you must at least write this much.
