1. how did you get into film/editing? what is your background and how did that
inform your work on “natas”?
2. how did you get involved in the project?
3. how do you think “natas” fits into the genre of nuyorican film? was there
something you guys were trying to show or represent in the film that you
guys weren’t seeing in other movies?
4. how politically motivated is the film? were you guys trying to make
commentary on the police force and how they were treating puerto ricans?
5. in the movie new york is depicted is predominantel puerto rican/hispanic
where spanish is the main language? you don’t really hear english too much
in the film and all the cops are latinos. do you know what that choice was
about?
6. there seemed to be moments that implied that natas was gay and/or
involved in a homosexual relationship with his partner? do you know why
that was done?
7. how was the movie received by the puerto rican community in new york?
8. do you know if anything came of the film afterwards? was there any reaction
by the police?
