The first two levels have a lot to do with the kinesthetic. It’s dealing
with the body, movement, and technique. These are the basics to start
singing well. It then moves into more auditory and visual learning like
sight reading and part work. This goes until level 5, still talking about the
visual. These are things that don’t take much critical thinking once you
learn them. They should all come naturally. Starting around level 6, we get
into more critical thinking skills. These are things that will be different
between genres and even pieces. Things such as expression, meaning, and
form will be different every piece you do, and decisions will have to be
made in the choir on how you want to approach these topics. Levels 9
and 10 are the group levels. This is when it moves away from what the
individual can do to better themselves and into what the individual can
do to better the group as a whole.
