ST. COLUMBA CATHOLIC CHURCH

SAN DIEGO

October 24, 2010 Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Pastor’s Corner ~

The gospel this weekend gives us a warning AGAINST SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS. All of us are imperfect, and we should help each other in our journey to become better persons. Though we know there are people who can be more sinful than ourselves, we have no right to judge anyone as to who is more worthy before God, for only God can see our hearts and know our true value.

Our PARISH YOUTH AND CONFIRMATION TEAM will be sponsoring the once-a-month YOUTH MASS starting this Sunday at 5:30 in the afternoon. We remind adults and families to support and encourage our young people to be more involved in the Church, because the future belongs to them. God has also equipped them with the grace, like adults, to become more mature and responsible in their faith.

These two weekends (Oct. 23-24; 30-31) we will have our signature campaign for the CATHOLIC LEGISLATIVE NETWORK which will give us a voice to affect the legislative process in California especially in favor of life and human dignity. Please be sure to sign up and return the card to the parish. ONLY THOSE WITH E-MAIL can sign since the process will work through the use of e-mail.
