MBA/EMBA Admission Test Guideline


Admission Test process and format
Potential candidates seeking for admission in the MBA program are evaluated according to their
performance in the admission test. MBA/ EMBA Admission test consists of three separately timed sections
(see the table). A candidate starts with a 20- minute MCQ type Quantitative section. This section will be
followed by another 20-minute MCQ type English Grammar section. A candidate will finish the test with a
20-minute essay writing on a specific topic.

Candidates have to pass (40% marks) in each section separately.
Quantitative Section- Mathematics
The quantitative section measures the ability of the candidates to reason quantitatively, solve quantitative
problems and interpret graphic data. There will be 20 multiple choice questions that require basic
knowledge of arithmetic, elementary algebra and some common concepts of geometry. Topics covered in
this section are summarized in the following table.
Topics covered in Quantitative section (Mathematics)
Arithmetic Properties of Integers, Fractions, Decimals, Real Numbers, Ratio and
Proportion, Percents, Powers and Roots of Numbers. Rate problems, Work
problems, Mixture problems, Interest problems, profit measurement
problems, Data interpretation.
Algebra Simplifying Algebraic Expressions, Equations, Solving Linear equations with
one/ two unknown, Solving Equations with factoring, solving quadratic
equations and exponents.
Geometry Lines, Perpendicular Lines, parallel lines, triangles, Quadrilaterals.
English Grammar
This section consists of 20 MCQ type English Grammar. The following grammar rules are tested in English
Grammar questions: Agreement, Grammatical Constructions, Idioms, Logical prediction, Parallelism,
Rhetorical Construction, and Verb form.
Writing Assessment
The writing assessment test will require you to write a short essay (in about 200 words) on a given topic.
This test is designed as a direct measure of your ability to think, organize, and communicate your ideas.
