Aspects used in a Prashna chart

Aspects used in Prashna

This article, as promised previously, aims to teach you to know the aspects used in a chart prashna (Horoscope Astrology)

For those who know the interpretation of a kundali map (natal chart), they will notice differences, in a natal map we use the rasidrisht (aspects between
signs) and Grahadrisht (aspects between Planets) as we have already spoken several times in our articles and courses, however when analyzing a
chart prashna the aspects are seen by "axes", very similar to the astrology of the west. This type of aspect is commonly used in astrology "tajik" or
"tajika".

Then let's know the system:

Friendly aspects:
Friends declared: 5, 9
Secret Friends: 3, 11
Enemy aspects:
Enemies declared: 1, 7
Secret Enemies: 4, 10
Neutral aspects:
2, 6 and 8.

We should inform you that there is a lot of discussion about what aspects to use in prashna, if those taught in the Parasara system or the tajik system,
it is almost general opinion that the tajik system is ideal for analysis in prashna (time) charts. If we look at the table of aspects above, we see the
similarity with Western astrology in dealing with aspects.

For example in the first class of aspects we see as friends the 1/5 and 1/9 axis that in western astrology when used whole signs will be equivalent to
the "trine" in which there is a difference of 120º or 4 signs of distance.

Already on axis 1/3 or 1/11 (secret friends) we have the similar aspect to the "sextile" of the western astrology that would be a distance of 60º or two
signs of distance, which is a friendly aspect but with less force than the trigone or with softer action.

In the axis of declared enemies we see the axis 1/1 and 1/7 that equals the conjunction and the opposition used in the west, being the axis 1/1 (being
in the same sign is not always an enemy, since the conjunction depends on which Planet is set, whether it is evil or beneficial.

Finally we have the secret enemies that make the axis 1/4 and 1/10. Similar to the quadrature of the western ones where there is a distance of 90º or 3
signs of distance.

The only difference is that whole signs are used and not exact or specific degrees, but even whole signs are used in traditional Western astrology,
especially when it comes to hourly astrology.

For most experienced astrologers, even with Western astrology it became quite clear how to look at the aspects on a prashna chart, but for starters
there may still be questions about how to identify them, so I will give some graphs in practice and see how easy it is, let's first identify the axis of friends
declared that is the 1/5 and 1/9 axis:
Looking at the map above, let's suppose that we want to know which Planets are "declared friends of Venus (example), from Venus, where the Planet
is, there are 5 signs, beginning with the very sign where Venus or any other Planet we want to see the declared friends aspects. (The black line shows
this count). Planets located there are in friendly aspect with Venus because it would be equivalent to a trine. If we count 9 signs from Venus it would be
the axis 1/9 (red line) that would equal the same trine, if we count from the sign 9 (red line) to Venus we would again have the axis 1/5 (blue line).

This result is obtained with the alternative of counting 5 signs (from himself) forward and 5 signs backwards (black line and blue line).

The other axes proceed in the same way, let's identify in the map below which Planets make aspects of "secret enemies" axes 1/4 and 1/10 for Planet
Mars, for example:

Look at the map above and try to identify the axis of the secret enemies, which as we said is the aspect between 1/4 and 1/10, remembering that you
can use the count from 1 to 4 and 1 to 10 based on Planet Mars or count 4 forward and then 4 backward.

If you answered that Mars looks "tense" with Sun, Mercury and Jupiter (1/10) hit.

It is worth remembering that the nature of the planets involved in the aspects will also influence the interpretation, especially in conjunction, a
conjunction with Jupiter is always welcome, even if initially dealing with an aspect called "declared enemies" (1/1 axis) would be bad because it would
be a combustion and with Saturn being the latter evil, would be bad.

So we conclude that the nature of the planet that aspects, being a positive or negative aspect, will influence the final result, we should always use
common sense and keep in mind that the tajik system used in prashna in aspects, although it is similar to the aspects used in the West, it does not
have the same connotation of the latter, a square which in the West is regarded as something undesirable, in the prashna it may not be so bad,
because of the nature of the planets involved but always will bring a certain "difficulty."
In the prashna tantra it is taught that a goal will succeed in "if the ruler of the ascendant aspects the house up and the house of the question" If this
aspect is done by trine (1/5 or 1/9) the expected result is very good , but if this same aspect is done by axis 1/7 (opposition) the goal will also be
achieved, but probably with more difficulty or struggle.

As I said at the beginning of the article, there are certain debates among astrologers about which system to use in the prashna to see the aspects,
whether of parasara or the tajik system, by practice we find it more appropriate to use the taught here, but always let the student free use or test others
taught on other websites or books.

Study this article well and assimilate it perfectly because it will be used a lot in your hourly questions analysis. Remembering again that aspects of
beneficent Planets are always desirable, even if these aspects qualify as "enemies", rather than receiving aspects of malefics even qualifying as
"friends", and that is my opinion that it can be freely disputed, since I am not the owner of the truth
Prashna (Household Issues 2) - Horary Astrology.

Prashna Tantra is an Indian sastra (scripture) that teaches prashna (Hourly Astrology), and I intend to write a series of articles based on this scripture,
the first of which will give the student methods and techniques for interpreting a time map.
The subjects of House 2 was chosen as the first in the series because the questions related to finances and earnings are very frequent.

To study within the tradition we will have to translate the stanzas (stanzas) that the ancient scripture teaches us, before anything else I inform that this
article is directed to students who have at least the basic of astrology, that knows how to open and generate a map and also know how to ask
questions according to hourly astrology.

As for the questions the method is the same learned in Western astrology, only map interpretation is that differs, usually I write for lay and beginner
level I, however this series requires the basics at a minimum, is directed to astrologers and students in one most advanced level, but it's not a seven
headed beast, just browse the internet and research how to ask a question in horary astrology, as to raise an Indian-style map on that same blog there
are articles teaching, what you will learn in this article specific is how to interpret.

So let's get into the business of the house 2 according to the scripture.

Sts. 6 to 8: "In a consultation on finances, predict money gains if the lord of the 2nd house is in ithasala as the ruler of the Lagna or the Moon; or is set
or aspected by beneficial.
If maleficents are in the second house, the querente will make money in distant lands, but will suffer afflictions.
If the ruler of the second house is in muthaseela with malefics the querente can die.
If the Lagna ruler is in ithasala with the ruler of the 2nd house in any house with slower Planets the gain will be through the house. "
We see that the stanzas or verses are not so simple to learn or assimilate, because if they did not need an article for this ... (laughs). But it is necessary
to quote such verses in order to maintain the tradition, that we will explain in detail each verse to my dear readers.

Raman in his comments of the said scripture says to be simple to understand the verses, but he writes for Indians, in fact the verses are simple, but
there are terms "strange" for a Westerner, in understanding such terms the reader will have no difficulty in understanding how to interpret. In fact it is
two very common terms in India's hourly astrology: Ithasala and Muthaseela.

Students who continue their studies with the prashna should know what it is, as such terms are often used in astrology work. As everyone knows my
main goal is to teach astrology to laypeople or beginners, I do not aim to talk difficult to show "false wisdom" and complicate the lives of those
interested in learning. I just quoted such terms because it is necessary, given that when a student of this blog comes across these terms know what it is
about and not get 'stuck' just to my teaching, everyone is free to proceed on other websites and books.

Ithasala is a yoga (planetary configuration) when a faster Planet has a shorter length than a slower Planet, it is a beneficial position because the
Planets will meet in the near future forming an exact aspect. In Western hourly astrology the Ithasala is known as "application".

With this explanation we understand in an easy way verse 6 of the prasna tantra which says that when the ruler of the 2nd house is in ithasala
(application) with the ruler of the ascender (lagna) or the moon there will be financial gain (when the question refers to finance theme). When the exact
appearance happens, it will be time for the promise to be fulfilled.
Muthaseela is when ithasala occurs in the middle of a degree only, it is a quite powerful yoga, so in prashna tantra when the ruler of house 2 is in
muthaseela with malefics is an undesirable position.
It is necessary that the student understands that a Muthaseela is a powerful configuration, but does not mean that it is malefical in all cases, how
powerful we understand force, in the given example of prashna tantra referring to house 2, for being related the muthaseela to the malefics would be
harmful.

Another note becomes necessary, what is there to be death with finances?

House 2 is not only related to finances, it is a "maraka" house (killer), it also governs the food we eat, rules the throat, neck finally there are several
things that said house rules beyond finances, if the question is about of finance and there is a Muthaseela with malefics, it does not mean in any way
that the querente is at risk of life, if the person however asks about his health or has some health problem in the region of the neck the interpretation
will surely change .

In Astrology we have to use common sense, so if a querente comes to ask if your business will work, a muthaseela configuration at most means that
there will be great financial loss and nothing has to do with the health of the querente.

As to verse 8 indicates the source of the gains according to the house.

Recalling verse 8:
"If the regent of the Lagna is in ithasala with the ruler of the 2nd house in any house with slower Planets the gain will be through the house"
BV Raman gives an example for this rule through the map below:

In this map there is an Ithasala between Jupiter (ruler of Lagna) and Saturn (ruler of house 2) because Saturn is slower than Jupiter the house where
Saturn is (house 9) is that it will be the "source" (from where it comes) the gains in a question about finances. That would be related to ministry, higher
education, travel and other attributes of the house 9.

In the next article we will continue with the study of House 2 and related questions within the Indian horoscope astrology (prashna). If this
