REGISTRATION NOTICE FOR STUDENTS OF BS/BBA


SPRING 2019 SEMESTER

A) Semester schedule:
Registration Starts Monday 14th January 2019
Registration ends Friday 18th January 2019
First day of classes Monday 21st January 2019
Last day of classes Friday 10th May 2019
Start of Final Examination Tuesday 14th May 2019
Announcement of Result Monday 03rd June 2019

B) REGISTRATION RULES FOR ALL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS


1. Regular Students:
a. The students without warning MUST take regular course load which is normally 5 courses.
b. A student behind his/her batch may be allowed to take extra courses provided the student is not
under warning. Approval from HoD would be required in such cases.
2. Students Under Academic Warning:
a. Must register for all such courses, in which the grade was “F”
b. Should register for all such courses, in which the grade was D, D+ or C- .
c. Should not register for more than normal defined course load.
d. Student with warning count = 2 MUST not register in any new course.
3. Final Year Project:
A student may register for FYP-1 ONLY in his/her second last semester and with the approval of HOD.
The minimum credit hours and CGPA requirement must be fulfilled as per their respective degree
program mentioned in prospectus.
4. Repeat of Courses:
A student may be allowed to repeat a course in the following situations:
i. The student had registered for that course but failed to pass the course.
ii. The student wants to improve his / her grade where his/her GPA in that course is < 2.0.
Such course MUST be repeated within a year from the date of last registration in that
course.
iii. A student cannot repeat a course whose post requisite has already been passed.
5. Courses Offered by other Departments:
a. If a student wants to register in a course which has been offered by other than the student’s parent
department, he / she must obtain written prior approval from both HODs’ before requesting for
registration for that particular course.
6. Add/drop
a. Online add/drop will be available from January 21, 2019 to February 1, 2019.
b. Students on academic warning are not allowed to add/drop any course at their own. They must get
written approval from the advisor by showing original registration form.
c. Follow departmental rules regarding the above in case it is announced otherwise.
7. Attendance will be counted from the date of registration. So if your register late your percentage of
absentees will also be reduced accordingly. Maintaining 80% attendance is must.
8. A student who has completed the registration formalities after the start of the classes is advised to take
registration slip from respective departmental Office to show it to respective instructors for marking of
attendance.
9. Withdrawal from courses is allowed till Friday, May 10, 2019. However, the students of Batch 2018 are not
allowed under normal circumstances. Withdrawal on attendance shortage is allowed for all batches.
10. Sponsored students are not allowed to withdraw from any course or take lesser load. In both cases, their
full fee will be charged by Flex automatically. Loan or sponsorship for that semester will be withheld.
11. No student is allowed to register in any course whose prerequisite is not cleared at the time of registration.
12. Retake is only allowed in one of the Midterms exams in a course. Re-take of examination (or adjustment of
mid-term percentage in final exam) shall only be allowed under unavoidable circumstances, such as
hospitalization, death of a very close (immediate) family member or marriage of close relative
(sister/brother). No MC shall be accepted for this permission. Computerized copy of all admission/discharge
slips along with payment slip must also be attached along with application.

C) Financial Information
13. All students are advised to pay full tuition fee on or before January 25, 2019 or deadline mentioned on
fee challan form and submit copy of the paid challan in Accounts Office.

a. Fee Challan will be generated after online registration is done. Students must first do online
registration and then print Challan from their own Flex Accounts. The Challan is essential for
submitting in bank, at time of fee payment. Paid challans MUST be retained by the student at least
for the current semester.

b. Registration link will not be activated for those students who have outstanding dues. Such
students are advised to clear all outstanding dues before attempting for registration.

14. Fee is payable:


a. Through CASH / PO or DD in any branch of Faysal Bank Ltd. during banking hours. Date of
realization of funds in university’s account shall be considered as payment date in case fee is paid
other than cash. Cheques are not accepted.
b. Preferably, pay fee in cash. For other modes like PO/DD, it should be deposited at least three
working days before the deadline. Otherwise fine will be calculated by the system which will not be
waived.
c. The bank will charge late fine @ Re. 1 per Rs. 1000/- per day from those who pay fee after the
deadline.
d. In pursuance of the amendment by the Government of Pakistan in the Finance Act 2013,
Advance Tax @ 5% on fees is to be collected from the students, if a student’s fee exceeds
Rs. 200,000 per annum. Flex will automatically calculate the tax on Challan form.
e. Tax deducted as source will be paid in the name of person who has been tagged in Flex.
Check immediately the CNIC and name of the tagged person and contact us for correction, if
required. Once Tax is deposited, University will not be responsible.
f. Students who are getting FAST Financial Aid/Loan and have got warning (CGPA Less than 2) in the
last semester are required to pay full fees in this semester. The facility will resume once the student
improves his/her CGPA as per rules.
g. The facility of PEEF / FAST Financial Aid/Loan is available only for 4 years for BS/BBA degree
programs. It will automatically be cancelled after the above period.
h. Courses registered till two days prior to Due Date of fees payment, are required to be paid by the
Due Date. It is the responsibility of the students to immediately report the courses registered “ on”
and “after” the Due Date to Accounts Department as these are required to be paid within two days
of getting registered.
i. Fee schedule is given below.
Fee for Undergraduate disciplines admitted in 2017 and before Rs.7100/- per credit hour

Fee for Undergraduate disciplines admitted in 2018 Rs.8000/- per credit hour

Student Activities Fund per semester Rs. 1500/-

Semester Freezing Fee (within add/drop deadline) Rs. 5000/-

Semester Freezing Fee (after add/drop deadline) Rs. 6000/-

j. Those students who are on academic warning may pay fee equal to courses advised by their
warning advisor.
k. If a student has been allowed by the HOD to pay fee on course wise basis including warning
students, then he/she will have to pay course wise fee for the rest of entire semesters.

l. Please verify your name, roll number on fee challan before submitting into bank. Immediately
contact Accounts Office in case of variation therein.
m. Attending classes without paying fee is not allowed. The registration of such students may either
be cancelled or courses will be withdrawn.
n. For course wise fee, visit your concerned academic office only. Please visit Accounts office for the
payment of previous dues.

D) Registration Procedure
 All undergrad students who are not on academic warning will register online.
 Students on warning status will have to do manual registration on registration Form. They
are advised to get registration Form in triplicate from their respective Departmental Office.
Fill all copies, leave two with the advisor and keep the third one with you for record.

Important Notes/Instructions:
 All students are required to attend all classes. 20% absentees may be excused on genuine reasons.
Attendance would be counted on the basis of lectures held multiplied by the duration of the lectures.
E.g. in a particular course total lectures held are 28. The duration of each lecture is supposed 1.5
hours. The total lectures hour would be 42 hours and student can be excused for 20% i.e. 8.4 hours.
The number of absents will not be taken into consideration. So, be careful in making the ratio in
term of hours. Those whose names have been highlighted in red in Flex will not be allowed to take
exam.
 Online registration and printing of fee challans can be done from home through website as well.
 Students are advised to visit concerned academic office for all timetable clashes and registration
issues.
 Timetable and list of courses will be available before the start of registration.
 Registration of all those students who failed to pay fee within deadline shall be cancelled.
 Waiting list for each course will be maintained in Departmental Office. Show ID card and registration
slip to the person concerned for entry in the list. Please also mention the name of the course that is
intended to drop against this.
 All students are advised to follow registration and fee payment deadlines strictly.
 The schedule of Final Exam Paper Showing will be announced by the respective departments after
the start of final examination. The rechecking is optional. No further chance on whatever reasons
will be allowed if missed on the scheduled day and time.
