ADJECTIVES

There are 3 forms of adjectives. Look at the table below.

Adjective Comparative Superlative
fat fatter fattest
dirty dirtier dirtiest
beautiful more beautiful most beautiful
good better best

1. If the adjective ends in an ‘e’, add ‘r’ and ‘st’.

Example:

2. If the adjective ends in ‘y’, change to ‘i’.

3. Some adjectives double their final letter.

Example:

4. For longer words: words with two or more syllables (suku kata), add ‘more’ or ‘most’.

5. Sometimes the spelling changed.
