1. Introduction
China is considered the world's factory. China is a country with low labor costs,
abundant human resources and capable of self-study material source. As a
result, the manufacturing industry of China is growing and is playing important
role in the supply chain products worldwide. Therefore, the goods produced in
China are now taking over the world - including Vietnam
Garments, too, seemed clothing market in Vietnam was China dominates the
premium segment from the guide to the popular segment. A striking example is
the products from China such as silk, shoes, clothes always occupied a
significant market of Vietnam garment. Whether the products come from
foreign firms tend to increase or decrease the Chinese garments always
occupied a part of this market.
The purpose of this study is the study of the response of customers in Vietnam
with Chinese products, in the way they set preferences and their consumption
habits. Besides, this study also identified the main reasons why consumers
Vietnam engaged in buying and not buying products of Chinese apparel.

2. About the issue

There is no denying, however, that China's garment products are an important
part of garment consumption in Vietnam. Even so, Chinese garments should
not be more than domestic, but they also have enough to create the image and
motivation for Vietnamese garment.

On the one hand, Chinese garment products are favored by many consumers for
2

many reasons. Initially, China was known to be the leading country in

producing a large number of goods in the world, and the prices of these products
matched most of the social positions. Therefore, the market segment of the
products from China also match the financial status of each person. Moreover,
Chinese products can be found everywhere, so it can reach customers without
difficulty.

On the other hand, I still think that Chinese products should be more controlled
in the near future rather than not buying Chinese garments. For many, Chinese
products are something bad, and it is not good to use. Moreover, customers also
want to buy products in the country. Buying Vietnamese products not only
supports the national business, but buyers can also understand the origin of
those products. In addition, as people's living standards improve, they will
change their habits. Restriction of clothing products from China can facilitate
the development of the country. Bringing Bitis as a prime example, when
consumers react to this movement, they will decide to use Bitis products like
Bitis Hunter Shoes at affordable prices instead of using Chinese goods

3. Why are there two sides of the problem exist?

3.1. A number of people prefer to buy the Chinese garment products
3.1.1. Diversified product design and low cost
Many people often say that Chinese goods are often cheap because of low-
quality goods, but this can be seen as a completely wrong concept. As one of
the most populous countries in the world, therefore, China's labor force is
plentiful and does not lack human resources. Moreover, China is the cheapest
labor cost in the world, helping businesses save a lot of production costs,
resulting in lower production costs. At the same time, they have large areas and
a large population to help China have a large supply of raw materials for

import from other countries. Not so, In China, there are quite a few businesses
competing in one field. In order to maintain their competitiveness, they always
have to innovate products, models, and quality of products. So, Chinese
apparels meet every need of design, style, color or size. Even more, they can
provide a wide range of products that customers require but which are not
produced or produced in Vietnam in a negligible amount.

3.1.2. Fashionable
With the experience of a country that used to be the factory of the world, it is
considered that copying and sharing of product knowledge are very normal.
Hundreds of for-profit organizations have been reluctant to copy, mimic the
products they anticipated could create a fever in the marketplace. Therefore, the
fact that they can provide a variety of clothing in the fashion world trend is very
obvious. If you go to wholesale markets like Dong Xuan Market, you will see
a lot of famous clothes such as Gucci, LV, G & B ... at very cheap prices and
trendy fashion.

3.1.3. Customer perception is not high

Chinese clothing is shaped in the minds of the Vietnamese people as a cheap
product. Because of that, it fits the needs of low-income and college students.
Not to mention the fact that the government has not yet issued a sanction for
the sale of pirated goods, imitation brands and the protection of trademarks are
imitated throughout the territory of Vietnam. Besides, because of the trend that
young people also buy Chinese clothing to wear because of the cheap price.

3.1.4. Geographic location and culture

Vietnam is located in the south of China, so it is very easy to transport goods to
Vietnam and almost all traders are transported by road to Vietnam. Moreover,

are still affected by the culture of feudalism, so they tend to use Chinese goods
rather than Vietnamese goods or goods of other countries.

3.1.5. Chinese garments are everywhere in Vietnam

Chinese goods are everywhere around the world so it is no wonder that their
garment does not appear in all of Vietnam. Because of that, Chinese apparel has
a great brand awareness, deep into the subconscious of the Vietnamese people.
Buying a product that comes with a product from China can be considered an
obvious, inevitable part of buying clothes.

3.2. Viet Nam consumers do not like to buy and use the products made in
China.
3.2.1. Low quality
Over the years and through many kinds of products, the subconscious of
Vietnamese only Japanese household is durable, clothing is Zara, H & M, Viet
Tien, May 10 is good. Chinese clothing or apparel are always preconceived as
low-quality, fragile. With the trend of higher quality of life and stable income,
Vietnamese people tend to buy more expensive items and not buy low-quality
items.

3.2.2. Vietnam's prejudice towards China

So far, the Vietnamese consider China to be unfriendly to a series of incidents
that have taken place in the past. China's hatred is a very popular "trend" from
children to old people in Vietnam. When someone remembers about China, it's
mostly about bad things. Therefore, some Vietnamese customers always ignore
Chinese products while shopping, even if the quality of the products is good or
not.

3.2.3. Domestic product support

Many consumers see the expansion of Chinese products in the Vietnamese
market, and the loss from expansion into domestic products, as well as
government policies. They decided to buy Vietnamese products as a support to
local entrepreneurs. By purchasing a local product, customers can be verified
for the origin or manufacturing process of the product as well as the warranty.

3.2.4. Foreign fashion brands in Vietnam

Now is the era of globalization, the famous fashion companies are gradually
expanding the market and have placed some retail stores in the big cities of our
country. These clothing lines also meet the tastes as well as spread the segment
of the consumer. Consequently, some consumers chose to switch to this product
line.

3.2.5. Customer perception is enhanced

With the internet becoming more popular than ever, customers can interact
better with people. They can use the internet to learn as well as distinguish real,
fake and quality of each product

4. Methodology, interview & Analysis

4.1. Methodology
The method used in the study required the use of data from the responses of two
interviewees. The data analyzed was collected by applying a questionnaire with
questions related to the topic

4.2. Interviewees
 Mr. Quang: 30s years old, married, work at a bank
 Mr. Dung: 20 years old, student, NEU

4.3. Result
In the interview, both interviewees stated that they mainly focused on the
quality and brand of the product while shopping. In particular, they care about
the first need, then the quality of the product. They use real goods when going
out or important. In addition, there is a person who only uses the real thing and
a man over the age of 30 is only interested in the value of the use of the product
when buying.

5. Conclusion
Basically, Vietnamese consumers choose products based on the demand factor
mainly when shopping. Once the needs are met, they are interested in their
personal preferences. In particular, the customer segment is divided into two
categories, that is, prefer to buy Chinese goods and do not like to buy Chinese
goods. For Chinese buyers, their reason is that Chinese products are diverse in
design, price, and easy to find everywhere. So, for convenience and saving time
when shopping, they often choose Chinese goods. Meanwhile, according to a
group of people who do not like to buy Chinese goods, part of them is affected
by prejudice against China, in part because they want to buy quality goods. In
terms of prejudice against China, a part of the population has defaulted to regard
all Chinese goods as substandard, even using products from China as
"unpatriotic." Therefore, they insist on refusing the whole product from China,
even if the quality of the product is good or not. In addition, with the entry of
foreign goods, consumers can confidently choose quality-assured goods from
developed countries, rather than products of unknown origin. imported rampant
from China. In conclusion, the demand is always the consumer's immediate
focus, followed by the quality comes with the brand, finally the Nahan fish

preferences in the shopping

In the interview, both characters insisted that they were interested in the need
before buying, then the quality and brand of the product. The price of the
product is a secondary condition after the necessary conditions are met.
However, one uses only the real one, while the other only cares about the use
of the product. These two factors belong to the interests of each person.
Therefore, it can be concluded that Vietnamese consumers are at the same point
of priority as the demand, quality, and brand of the product, while their
preferences and buying habits are different.

This study, however, has limitations. The first is the number of interviewees.
Two replies are not enough to make the correct conclusions about this issue.
Therefore, in the following article, we will study on a large scale to be able to
draw the most accurate conclusions.
