The Eyeopener
Connecting Ryerson students and advertisers, since 1967

Do you want to advertise to 50,000 Ryerson students, faculty and

staff? Thousands of potential new customers are on our campus, and
The Eyeopener, can connect you and them in print and online. From
classrooms to faculty lounges, student dorms to student pubs, The
Eyeopener is there.

We are your connection to a vibrant, ever-growing campus with

thousands of students, staff & faculty.

Since 1967, The Eyeopener has covered news, sports, arts and much
more every week, with a special emphasis on the people, places and
things that the students and staff at Ryerson are interested in.
Thousands of Ryerson students and staff are on campus every day,
working, studying or relaxing, which means an ad in The Eyeopener
is in front of them every day of every week.

Advertising in The Eyeopener is cost-effective. Your ad appears in 6,000

copies of the paper, and studies have shown that those copies are
shared and passed on to an additional three to four students. So your
ad is tripled or quadrupled in the number of people who see it.

We print a paper every Tuesday night from late August to the end of
November, and from mid-January to the beginning of April, and we
put it online at theeyeopener.com, where over 40,000 unique visitors
see it every week. Viewers read the paper online or download a copy
to read later. We also publish special issues every year – Love & Sex,
Sports Top 10 and several other themes are available for unique
advertising opportunities.

We offer advertising on our website and beginning 2018, you can

purchase a one minute spot on an Eyeopener podcast. With over
40,000 visitors and over 80,000 pageviews a month, your ad will
reach thousands of potential customers.

Our Advertising Manager, Chris Roberts, has many years of experience

at The Eyeopener, and he knows exactly what succeeds when it comes
to connecting with our readers. He takes pride in the paper, and he’s
happy to work with you on every step of the process of getting your ad
in The Eyeopener.

Call today to connect with 50,000 customers in the Ryerson community.

NEW FOR 2018/2019 Podcast Advertising

You can sponsor The Eyeopener’s weekly podcast, The Ear-opener. You’ll have 1 minute of ad placement using your
script, read by the podcast host, connecting you to listeners on campus and in the city. Sponsorship begins at $400.

Hosts who deliver ads as part of their show lend brands an added level of authenticity from the rapport they have
built with their dedicated audience. Media companies tracked the results of host-read ads placed in four categories  –
podcasts, national radio, satellite, local radio  – and saw that podcasts are now the most highly performing category of
audio advertising.
