From Active to Passive
STEPS:

1: Identify the SUBJECT – VERB – OBJECT.

2. Identify the VERB TENSE.

3. Move the OBJECT to the SUBJECT position.

4. Conjugate the verb BE into the same VERB TENSE.


ADD THE PAST PARTICIPLE (PP – third column.)

5. Delete the subject OR include it (where suitable) with BY + SUBJECT.

6. Check the INDEFINITE PRONOUN and the charge of the sentence (+ / - )


to see if it make senses.

e.g. Nobody can open that jar.


That jar can't be opened by anybody.
