Screen Changers & Systems

Wil-Man® brand continuous screen changers provide optimum filtration of most any
molten polymer and allow exchanging of the screens while maintaining constant pro-
duction, while leaving the process virtually unaffected. You can choose from a wide-
variety of models from continuous single and dual piston, with optional backflush, to
belt type systems for constant pressure. Maag also offers discontinuous piston and
slide plate screen changers, with one or two screens for processes that can tolerate
an interruption during screen change.

Filtration Systems & Elements

LCI and EFC brands offer large area simplex, duplex, and backflush type of filter sys-
tems for polymers and monomers using our patented diverter valve technology with
“bumpless” transfer capability.
micronex® filter elements employ only the most select filter media, utilizing the latest
technology in hard and soft sinter medias which promote longer onstream life without
media migration or compression during normal operation.

Heat Exchangers & Mixers

blendrex® heat exchangers utilize mixing elements to enhance heat transfer to poly-
mers and other highly viscous materials. Furthermore, the blendrex mixing elements
serve to eliminate hot spots, providing a very uniform temperature profile across the
tube section.
blendrex® motionless mixers can provide thorough mixing of flowing gases, high and
low viscosity liquids, powders, and pellets.

Industrial Gear Pumps & Systems

Maag offers the greatest range of fluid handling pumps for difficult applications; from
water-like fluids to melted polymers, with viscosities from 0.3 to 4,000,000 mPas
(4,000,000 cP), with temperatures from -30 to 320ºC (-22 to 600ºF), and with pres-
sures up to 350 bar (5,000 psi).
Maag also offers a sealless, magnetic-drive option that isolates toxic, flammable, and
odorless liquids from the environment.

Compounding Gear Pumps & Systems

Maag provides compounding systems for the polyolefins’ and thermoplastic’s market,
such as LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, and PP. Maag has been the leading manufacturer of
gear pump systems for conveying highly viscous polymer melts for over 30 years. In
the compounding field, the polyrex® pump is the result of endless production-oriented
research and development with OEMs and end users. Worldwide references in us-
age confirm the polyrex as standard in resin manufacturing.

Extrusion Gear Pumps & Systems

Maag’s extrex® extrusion gear pump is successful in meeting process conditions, such
as viscosities to 30,000 Pas (30,000,000 cP), temperatures to 450˚C (842˚F), and
pressures to 700 bar (10,150 psi). The rubbex® gear pump can process elastomers in
combination with a feeder unit for several types of rubber applications.
Maag offers several control systems for pump-assisted extrusion, including basic dis-
crete instrumentation, or sophisticated PLC based versions capable of total line control.
You can choose from an array of options, such as multiple heat zones, one button start-
up, and AC or DC drive systems.
