REDLANDS RUGBY UNION U15 TEAM - 2019 TOUR TO ARGENTINA

The Redlands Rugby Union Club (Muddies) Under 15s (U15s) are touring Argentina in 2019 and
are seeking sponsorship.

In 2018, as a close knit group of 23 great mates, the U14s played Division Two in the Brisbane
Junior Rugby Union (BJRU). At the culmination of the 2019 season they are keen to take their brand
of rugby to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Founded in 1979, the ‘Mudcrabs’ or ‘Muddies’ is a family orientated rugby club in Birkdale, Brisbane.
With an already established reputation for developing juniors from three-years-old through to ‘Old
Boys’, who call Judy Holt Park ‘home’ many have gone on to greater representative honours.

An U15 cultural rugby tour to Buenos Aires, Argentina came to fruition towards the end of the 2018
season as the ‘trip of a lifetime’ experience for the boys. Through rugby networks and friendships
established over decades, an itinerary that is both culturally integrating and rugby based was
established for the two week September school holiday period.

Between September 20th and October 4th, they play four games against three strong clubs
including Argentinian rugby pedigree, Hindu Rugby Club. Established in 1935, Hindu are the
premier Argentinian rugby club having often won the Top 12 first division league, provincial and
national competitions.

The U15 Muddies team will be accompanied by a small management team and a separate self-
funded tour package has been offered to parents and supporters, which is also proving to be very
popular.

Accommodation is a mix of ‘billeting’ with opposition players where the boys will experience firsthand
a genuine Argentinian family homestay, and paid accommodation, whilst representing Redlands,
Queensland and Australia.

With a targeted fundraising total of $116,000 the committee are offering various jersey sponsorship
opportunities to subsidise the all-inclusive $4000 per player.
