PROGRAM RATIONALE:

It was a good exercise for me having conversation with Dr. Rebecca Fox (Chair, Doctoral
Advising Committee) about my plan of study. My program of study has guided me through the
required coursework of the Ph.D. in Education program. As of December 2018, I have
successfully completed the courses required and currently on track towards my academic goals. I
have taken Teaching and Teacher Education (TATE) as my primary specialization and
International Education (IE) as my secondary specialization. I have found that the TATE program
at Mason ties my interests about teaching practices, education reform, education policy, managing
innovations in teaching and teacher education while IE as my secondary specialization will help
me to develop the skills needed to be an effective educator in a global society. I would also like to
do course on innovation management in education based on the approval of my Program Advisory
Committee to serve my academic goals in the future.
