The Metro Express Ltd (MEL) is a registered Mauritian Company wholly owned by the
Government of Mauritius and the Company is responsible for the developing, financing,
constructing, operating and managing the Metro Express Light Rail System in Mauritius.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates who wish to be considered for the
post of Manager, Train Operations in the MEL.
A. Qualifications

B. Duties
1. Lead a team of train operations staff to ensure smooth operation of all trains;
2. Develop and review operating procedure, quality manual and work instruction;
3. Collaborate with other division to drive performance;
4. Conduct incident investigation, fact finding and recommend course of action;
5. Work with the internal (Station and Operation Control Centre (OCC) Staff) and
external (authority, Police, Civil Defence and event organisers) agencies in
preparation for major events;
6. Supervise, assess and coach the train staff regularly to ensure high competency
levels are maintained;
7. Ensure that staff attends periodic refresher training, and update on operating
procedures, circulars and work instructions;
8. During Rail Incidents, works with train supervisors to ensure that recovery efforts
are well managed;
9. After each incident, leads the team to carry out incident investigations to
determine performance gaps in relation to train operations;
10. Prepare status report for the section to Chief, Operations; and
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
C. Pay Package
Salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience
