VALLOUREC & MANNESMANN
TUBES (V & M TUBES) is committed to
being the world leader in seamless pipe,
tubing and premium connections, utiliz-
ing our many assets to improve competi-
tiveness, increase cost-effectiveness and
ensure quality in our processes and prod-
ucts for the oil country tubular goods
(OCTG) market. V & M TUBES will:
Satisfy customers better by reinforcing
our presence near the customer; speeding
up communications and the decision-
making process; keeping to agreed dead-
lines; developing existing and new servic-
es; ensuring quality at competitive prices;
and measuring customer satisfaction. Our
mission is to meet the challenges of the
future by being innovative in technology,
quality and service and to build on our
success through training, teamwork and
responsiveness to customer requirements.
Secure complete control over the entire
production process from steel-making to
shipment of the finished product.
Develop Total Quality Management
(TQM) based on a continuous improve-
ment process in all sectors of the compa-
ny and at all levels through Continuous
Improvement Teams whose aim is to
incite innovation, improve key processes,
generalize the "5S" scheme and to put in
place locked procedures (with no-return
latches).
Reduce overhead and shorten hierar-
chical lines with the effective presence of
managers on site.
Generalize benchmarking and cross-
fertilization to implement good ideas
and proven practices to reinforce our
strengths.
Develop a true company spirit within
by combining teams, training, increasing
staff mobility and ensuring transparency
of information.

OVERVIEW
Exceptional Products
V & M TUBES North America produces hot-rolled seamless steel
tubes in sizes ranging from 2-3/8" to 24", in heat-treated or non-
heat treated condition, for: OCTG with plain end, API or VAM®
premium threads; API coupling stock; line pipe; standard pipe;
mechanical tube; or structurals.
As oil and gas wells go deeper with ever higher pressures,
temperatures and more corrosive conditions, requirements for
tubulars are increasingly severe. V & M TUBES offers a premium
tubular product to fit any well condition and – with an extensive
research and development program – is developing the OCTG of
the future.
Tubular products are being
developed with different
grades of steel, chemical
composition and mechanical
properties such as hardness,
fatigue strength, resilience,
resistance to corrosion, burst
resistance and collapse
resistance.
High Collapse Grades.
V & M TUBES’ proprietary
grades offer a greater collapse
rating than comparable API
grades. Collapse resistance is influenced by the combination of
geometrical and material properties such as wall thickness, ovality,
yield strength and residual stresses.
V & M TUBES’ manufacturing processes have a greater collapse
rating because hot-rolling, hot-straightened manufacturing
capabilities ensure correct wall thickness and minimum residual
stress.
Sour Service Grades. V & M TUBES has developed sour-resistant
grades with yield strength superior to normal API standard grades.
VM-110 SS has been tested
extensively, and has been qualified
under National Association of
Corrosion Engineers (NACE) test
methods with all three NACE
solutions (A, B and D). With wall
thicknesses of up to 1.200" on pipe
and coupling stock of 1.900",
VM-110 SS has been used in the
most demanding applications in
the Gulf of Mexico.

VAM® CONNECTIONS
OVERVIEW
When first developed in the 1960s, VAM premium connections
rapidly became the standard in the oil and gas industry,
differentiating themselves from all others by providing a good
combination of sealing performance, reliability, economy and
"best-in-class" service.
Now, with deeper wells, increasingly deviated holes and
longer horizontals, additional challenges have been created.
Casing and tubing have to bear higher compression, external
pressure, bending and torsion loads. And so do the connections.
For gas-tight sealing under the most severe conditions,
including greater depths, highly deviated holes and hostile
environments, VAM® TOP is the ideal connection. VAM TOP is
designed to handle higher tension and compression loads, and
is ideal for tubing and production casing string applications.
VAM TOP has excellent resistance to bending, compression
and internal and external pressures. VAM® TOP HC provides
gas-tight performance up to full-pipe body compression ratings.
VAM® TOP HT is available for high torque applications and has
compression ratings up to 80% PBYS. VAM® TOP FE is available
for high-fatigue applications, such as risers and drilling with
casing.
The VAM TOP family of connections is part of a full line of
premium connections, including threaded and coupled
connections VAM® ACE and VAM® HW ST; integral connections
VAM® SLIJ-II, VAM® FJL and VAM® MUST; and large OD
connections DINO VAM® and BIG OMEGA™.
