1. INTRODUCTION

The Project title is Engineering, Procurement, Construction and

Commissioning of PV Hybrid Off Grid Project in East Kalimantan, Berau

Regency.

2. SCOPE

This Docuement is Described of Repair of Damaged Galvanized Coating

with minimum requirement for The Engineering, Procurement,

Construction and Commissioning of PV Hybrid Plant in East Kalimantan.

3. DEFINITIONS

4. REFERENCE DOCUMENT

ASTM A780 Standard practice for repair of damaged and uncoated areas

of Galvanized Coating

5. EQUIPMENT

All brushes, roller and accessories shall be maintained in good order.

Dirty, dried paint material, solvent and other foreign material shall be

completely removed before painting.

6. APPLICATION OF PAINTING

Paint application shall be in compliance with client requirement,

specification, approved painting system, schedule and data sheet. To

repair damage galvanized coatings as follows:

1. Clean the surface to be reconditioned using a wire brush or light

grinding action. If grease or oil is present it shall be removed by a

suitable solvent ensure the surface is clean and dry.

2. To ensure that a smooth reconditioned coating can be effected,

surface preparation shall be extended into the surrounding

undamaged galvanized coating.

3. Paint material used generic zinc based. The new coating shall

overlap from the old over 50 mm prepared distance. The paint type

which propose for this case are Interseal 670HS which product

description with low VOC, two component high build, high solids

surface tolerant epoxy maintenance coating, manufactured by

International Paint. One coat layer will be sufficient.

4. Spray or brush-apply the paints containing zinc to the damaged

area. Apply the paint as in accordance with the manufacturer’s

instructions to achieve a dry film thickness 50 µm

7. INSPECTION

Take thickness measurement with either magnetic or electromagnetic to

ensure that applied coating achieved as per requirement.
