All Praise is due to Almighty Allah, The Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. Peace,
Blessings, and Salutations, upon him whose excellence is above the entire creation
and who has been blessed with being Imam ul Ambia. Peace and Blessings upon his
Beloved Companions, who are the manifestation of his blessings, and upon his
Noble Family who are the Gates to the City of His Love, and upon the Awliyah e
Kiraam and Ulama e Izaam, especially upon his beloved descendant, the Imam ul
Awliyah, Sayyiduna Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jilani ؓ◌, and upon all those who follow in
his way with sincerity.

(Alaihir Rahma), you have before you a book which has been compiled from our
‘Food For Thought’ Series. This book is an easy explanation of the selected couplets
from the blissful poetry of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Ash Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan
Qaadiri Barakaati ؓ◌ and is titled, ‘65 Roses from the Gardens of Salvation.’
I have presented an explanatory translation of the couplets in this book, rather than
the literal translation, as this makes it easier to understand. The objective of this is
to allow the reader to easily understand the message in the couplets.

It is my humble Dua that this book will be a means of benefit for all those who read
it. I must humbly request that not only should we read these Deeni Books, but we
should make a sincere effort to make Amal (practice) in accordance with what we
have read.

There is no doubt that Imam Ahle Sunnat Sayyiduna Aala Hazrat Ash Shah
Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Qaadiri Barakaati ؓ◌ is an Aashiq e Rasool , and
his entire life revolved around the love of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . Aala
Hazrat ؓ◌ is thus known as the ‘Imam e Ishq o Muhab’bat; due to his deep
and endless love for Sayyiduna Rasool .
He manifested his love for the Beloved Rasool in all his writings and
discourses, and this could be seen at a very deep and passionate level in the
poetry which he composed in his love for Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ wrote many Kalaams, and each has its special beauty
in the Gardens of Salvation.

evident that both his heart and soul were absorbed in the profound love of
the Beloved Rasool .
His Na’atiya Kalaam was written within the confines of the Shariah. Never
did he transgress the sacred Shariah in words or actions. Every stanza
flowed with pearls of Divine Inspiration (Ilhaam). Each stanza of his poetry
either presents the Tafseer (Commentary) of the Holy Qur’an, the
annotation (Tashreeh) of the Hadith of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , or it
captures moments of love from lives of the Noble Companions and pious
predecessors. ‘Mustafa Jaan e Rahmat Pe Laakho(n) Salaam’ is one of the
most recited Salaams in the world today. This too is a gift of love given to
us by Imam Ahle Sunnat Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌.
Sayyiduna Aala Hazrat’s poetry was compiled to form the world renowned
‘Hada’iq e Bakhshish’ (Gardens of Salvation). This famous Na’at
compilation is used throughout the world by those who wish to recite the
praise of the Beloved Rasool in the correct manner.

The First Rose
This couplet is the opening couplet of the first Na’at presented in Aala
Hazrat’s ؓ◌ Hada’iq e Bakhshish. It is written in spiritual delight and
demonstrates the deep love which Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ possessed for the Beloved
Nabi .
In the first stanza, the word ‘Waah’ in the Urdu language is used to
demonstrate astonishment. Hence, its use here is to show positive
admiration and to show how exquisite and how blessed the generosity of
our Nabi is.

The second stanza explains that those who seek the aid and the blessings
of Nabi never receive a negative response from his Blessed Court.
They are always greeted with a positive reaction from the generous court
of Nabi Kareem . This couplet is thus explaining the uniqueness,
generosity and the kindness of our Beloved Rasool Hazrat Muhammad
Mustafa .
The Beloved Nabi was more generous than all people. His generosity
flowed more swiftly than the powerful winds. He would never turn away
any mendicant empty handed, by saying ‘No’ to him.
even today, and His generosity and kindness continues to flow. Look
through the pages of history, and you will notice that:

The Second Rose
Almighty Allah commands the criminals, in other words, those who have
sinned, to go to the Court of His Beloved Rasool and to seek his
blessings. For those who have sinned in the Court of Allah, will have their
sins forgiven if they sincerely take shelter in the Mercy of Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah by begging him to intercede and seek forgiveness on
their behalf.

Almighty Allah says in the Holy Qur’an,
ْ ْ ْ ْ ْ ﻮا اﻧۡﻔﺴ
ۤۡ ۡ ْ
اﺳﺘﻐ ﻔﺮ ﻟﺎﺳﺘﻐ ﻔﺮوا اﷲ و ﺟﺂء ۡوك ﻓ ﻤ

وﻟ ْﻮ اﻧ ا

ﺣ ۡﻴ ًﻤﺎ
ﺟ ﺪوا اﷲ ﺗ ﻮاﺑًﺎ ر اﻟﺮﺳ ۡﻮل ﻟﻮ
‘And when they commit injustice unto their souls, then O Beloved, they
should present themselves before you and then seek forgiveness from
Allah, and (if) the Rasool should intercede on their behalf, then
undoubtedly they shall find Allah Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate.’
[Surah An-Nisa (4), Verse 64]
It has been reported in the books of Tafseer concerning this verse that,
after the apparent passing of the Beloved Rasool from this physical
world, a villager presented himself at the Rauda-e-Anwar of Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah and placed the blessed dust from the Rauda Shareef on his
head. While doing this, he said: ‘Ya Rasool’Allah ! That which you have
said, we have obeyed, and in that which was revealed to you is this verse وﻟ ْﻮ
ﺍ ﻧ ْﻢ ﺍذْ ﻇﻠ ﻤ ْﻮﺍ. ‘And verily, I have done injustice to my soul, and I am here before
you to ask repentance from Allah.’ On this, a voice was heard from the
Rauda-e-Anwar which said, ‘(Go) you have been forgiven.’

The Beloved Rasool is the Most Beloved of Almighty Allah, and Huzoor
Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌ is indeed the Beloved of Rasoolullah .
If we keep this in mind, we will better understand what Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌ is saying.

and accepted by you. Thus, I have no doubt that I too will be accepted in
your blessed Court by his virtue and blessings.
Here Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is reminding us about
the Maqaam (exalted station) of Huzoor Sarkaar Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌ and at
the same time he is teaching us a valuable lesson.
This concept and manner is one which we have learnt from the Holy
Qur’an. The Holy Qur’an teaches us to be obedient to Allah and His Rasool
and to remain in the company of the pious. The Holy Qur’an advises us

to keep the company of the pious on this earth, if we wish to be in their
sacred company in the hereafter.
‘And whosoever obeys the Command of Allah and His Beloved Rasool, then
they will be with them, upon whom Allah has bestowed His Special
Blessings, they being, The Ambia (The Prophets), and the Siddiqeen (The
Truthful Servants), and the Shuhada (The True Martyrs), and the Saaliheen
(The Pious Servants); And such wonderful companions are they.’ [Surah
An-Nisa (4), Verse 69]
Sayyidi Sarkaar Aala Hazrat Ash Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Qaadiri
Barakaati ؓ◌ spent his entire life striving to protect the Imaan of the
believers. He strived tirelessly to save the unsuspecting Muslims from the
evil ploys of the deviants and their agents.
In propagating the teachings of love for the Beloveds, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌ opened the hearts of the unsuspecting Muslims to the truth and by
Allah’s Grace and Mercy, he was able to protect the Imaan of millions of

Muslims and their generations to come from deceit of the wahabi,
deobandi and raafdhi and sulhe-kulli fitnas.
Hence, in this beautiful couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has given us many
valuable lessons about the importance of keeping ourselves connected to
the Awliyah Allah.
In doing so, Imam Ahle Sunnat has given us the formula for success, as
explained in the Holy Qur’an. May Allah keep us always in the company of
the righteous ones. Aameen.

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ uses the word ‘Phool’ (flower) to
express the exquisiteness of the Blessed Body of the Beloved Rasool , but
it is being applied in the sense of elegance and fragrance. The message here
is that the Blessed Body of Nabi Kareem is the most elegant and most
fragrant, and this is such elegance and fragrance which is incomparable.
Hazrat Mujad’did Alf Thaani ؓ◌ states, ‘In the entire creation there is none
more elegant than Rasoolullah . This is why Almighty Allah did not give
him a shadow, because a shadow is regarded as being more elegant (i.e.
graceful) than the elegance of everything. If He had a shadow it would
make it more elegant (i.e. more delicate) than his Blessed Body, and since

there is nothing which is more elegant than His Blessed Body, He
did not possess a shadow.’
It is reported that when the Beloved Rasool would emerge from His
Blessed Home to enter the Masjid, then all would become aware of His
Blessed Arrival due to the unique fragrance which originated from His
Blessed Body. In this couplet, Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is
beautifully and elegantly portraying in elegant words, the special and
unique elegance and fragrance of the Beloved Rasool . In doing so, he is
passing an Imaan inspiring message. He is saying that none in Allah’s
creation can compare in any way to the Beloved Rasool .

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is explaining the beauty and the
blessed fragrance which was found in the Blessed Perspiration of The
Beloved Rasool . Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is explaining that if a bride at
the time of her wedding obtains some drops of the Blessed Perspiration of
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , then never will she desire any perfume of this
world again, and nor will she ever have the desire to smell a flower again.

He had no perfume to give her on the day of her wedding. The Beloved
Rasool asked for a little bottle and put some drops of his Blessed
Perspiration into the bottle.
Some narrations say that he mixed it with a small amount of perfume that
he had in his possession. Nabi then asked the man to let his daughter
use the drops of the Holy Perspiration as her perfume. It is reported that
the girl used the Blessed Perspiration as her perfume, and not only did she
become fragrant, but her entire home became fragrant, with a fragrance
that remained, so much so that the people of Madina Shareef began to refer
her home as, ‘The House of the Fragrant Ones.’
Imam Ahle Sunnat Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ in this couplet is explaining this incident,
and simultaneously he is helping us to fortify our Imaan and Aqida, by re-
iterating that the Beloved Rasool is the Most Unique in Allah’s Creation.

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has further shown us the love, the Aqida and Yaqeen
(conviction) of the Companions (Allah is pleased with them all), that when
this person asked for the perfume, and he was given the Blessed
Perspiration, he did not question why he was being given perspiration, but
immediately he happily took it to his daughter, because he believed that he
had received the most beautiful fragrance in the universe. He believed that
there was none like Sayyiduna Rasoolullah and that the Holy
Perspiration of The Beloved Nabi was not any ordinary perspiration,
but it was a fragrance more beautiful and sweeter than the sweetest of
Musk.
On the topic of perspiration, I must say that we all know well that when we
perspire it gives off a foul odour and causes discomfort to us and those
around us, but Subhaan’Allah, the blessed perspiration of Sayyid ul Abraar
Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa possessed a sweet smelling fragrance and
was unique in every way.

It is reported that the Beloved Rasool used to go to the house of Hazrat
Umme Sulaym ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎ at times, to take rest. Hazrat Umme Sulaym ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎ
used to lay out a bedspread made from skin on the ground for Nabi to
rest upon. He would rest on the skin spread and would perspire while
resting. She would collect the Blessed Perspiration of Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah and mix it as her perfume. The Beloved Nabi asked, ‘O
Umme Sulaym! What is this?’ She said, ‘Ya Rasool’Allah ! It is your
blessed perspiration. I mix it in my perfume because your Blessed
Perspiration is the best perfume amongst all perfumes.’
Indeed, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ passed the love of
Nabi to us through his spiritual poetry. If one wishes to understand the
Seerah of Nabi Kareem through poetry, he should study the Hada’iq e
Bakhshish of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌.

The word Zahra here is used to explain the pureness, excellence and
blessings of Sayyidatuna Faatima ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎ.
Here, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ shows that the Beloved daughter and
grandchildren of Rasoolullah are also manifestations of the blessings,
generosity and fragrance of Nabi Kareem .

This couplet is actually praising Nabi Kareem because it is He who is
the Garden of Blessings. The bud and flowers in this blessed garden of
blessings are Sayyidatuna Faatima, Hazrat Imam Hasan and Imam Husain
(Allah is pleased with them all).
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is admiring the excellence and the unique status
afforded to The Ahle Bayt (i.e. The Noble Household) of Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah . In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is also educating us
about the importance of loving the Ahle Bayt of Nabi Kareem .

This is indeed true as there was no Era like the Blessed Era of Nabi Kareem
. Our Beloved Nabi said:

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ in the light of this Hadith is explaining that, as time
progresses the people will move further and further away from the light
into the darkness. This will happen if they leave the bright teachings of the
Beloved Rasool . He is further saying that, as much as we wish that we
could be in that Bright Era, it is an Era that is never to return to this earth.
However, if we wish to see the Noor of Almighty Allah with all His
splendours and if we want to be in His shade, we should safeguard our
Imaan, for when we leave this dark world, our hereafter will be brightened
by His uniquely special radiance and blessings.

I have understood through Imam Ahle Sunnat Aala Hazrat’s ؓ◌ Ruhani
blessings that Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is giving us very important advice.
The great and noble Imam is advising us that the times will become darker,
and if we really want to receive the blessings of Allah’s Noor and if we
want that He should show us His Blessed Face, then we should live
with Imaan and leave this world with Imaan, and we will be removed from
the darkness of this mundane world and be afforded the honour of seeing
the Beloved of Allah .
In one context the veils which are being mentioned, are the veils of this
world which veil us from seeing Nabi Kareem in all His splendour.
In other words, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is not only asking for the veil to be
removed from the Blessed Face of Nabi Kareem . Imam e Ahle Sunnat,
Imam e Ishq o Muhab’bat, Has’saan ul Hind, Aala Hazrat, Ash Shah Imam
Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is asking a Dua on our behalf.
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is asking that the veils of our eyes should be
removed so that we may be blessed with such light in our eyes which will
remove the veils of darkness of our misdeeds, and allow our eyes to be
cleansed, so that we may see the radiant face of Nabi Kareem .

Bataawo Ai Mufliso Ke, Phir Kyu(n) Tumhara Dil Iztiraab Me He
In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat Imam Ahmed Raza
Khan ؓ◌ is giving us confidence and encouraging us to have complete faith
in the Generosity and Mercy of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . Sayyidi Aala
Hazrat ؓ◌ is reminding us of our good fortune. He is mentioning that
Almighty Allah has blessed us with such a Nabi whose Generosity knows no
bounds.
The message which Sayyidi Aala Hazrat is giving in this stanza is one which
is proven from the Hadith Shareef. Nabi Kareem said,
In His Blessed Hands are the keys to the treasures of the world, the keys
to intercession, and the keys to admission into Jannat. All these are in the

Blessed Hands of Our Nabi , so do not despair, for his Generosity will
shade you in his Mercy.
However, all this generosity will truly be yours, and you have no need to
despair, only if you are true to Nabi Kareem , and this can only be done
by keeping away from deviants (bud-mazhabs) and those who sympathise
with the deviants. Otherwise, you will never be able to reach His Blessed
Hands, and you will be deprived of taking from the real share of His
generosity. We must understand that whatever we receive from the
Blessings of Almighty Allah, we receive through the Sacred Hands of our
Beloved Nabi .
The narration about Hazrat Rabee’a bin Ka’ab Aslami ؓ◌ is very well known,
that when the Beloved Rasool commanded him to ask whatever he
wished for, Hazrat Rabee’a bin Ka’ab Aslami ؓ◌ made the following request
in the Court of the Beloved Rasool , “I ask from you that I may be with
you in Jannat.”
The Beloved Nabi was informing him that, you may ask as you wish, as
I have the authority to give whatever you ask. Hazrat Rabee’a ؓ◌ knew that
if he asked for wealth, he would receive it, if he asked for power he would
receive it, if he asked for the palaces of the world he would receive them,
because he knew that the one whom he was asking from, and the one who
had commanded him to ask, is the keeper of the keys to all the treasures of
this world and the hereafter, but Hazrat Rabee’a ؓ◌ did not ask for any of
the worldly things.

He asked to be in the sacred company of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah in
Jannat. He asked for this because he knew that this too was through the
Blessed Hands of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
This is why Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is reminding us
that if you desire peace and true wealth, then take the Blessed Hands of
Nabi , for He will guide you into Jannat, which is the eternal Palace
of Peace and Comfort.
As for the deviants (bud-mazhabs) who say (Allah Forbid) that the Ambia
Alaihimus Salaam cannot give anyone anything, then it is clear that in the
hereafter they will be deprived of the generosity of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah
, and one who is deprived of the generosity of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah
is deprived of all goodness, and such a person will even be deprived of the
fragrance of Holy Paradise, for by Allah’s Grace, admission into Jannat will
be awarded by the Sacred Hands of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
May our lives be sacrificed for our Beloved Nabi , whose generosity
continues to rain down upon us. Have you realised how blessed we are to
have been blessed with being the slaves of such a Generous King !

The Ninth Rose

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza ؓ◌ is portraying the difficult and
crucial moment when each of us will be alone in our graves, and all those
who claimed to love and support us would have left us alone, and returned
to their families, to continue with their lives as normal.
There will be none there to help and assist us when the Angels of the Grave,
Munkar and Nakeer enter our graves in their fierce form, to question us.
Let me first share with you a short description of Munkar and Nakeer, and
about how they will enter our graves.

Huzoor Sadrush Shariah Qadi Amjad Ali Qaadiri Razvi Aazmi Alaihir Rahma
says:
‘When the people return after burying him, the deceased hears the sound
of their footsteps. Just then, two Angels appear, tearing through the earth
with their teeth. Their appearance is ferocious and dreadful. Their bodies
are black, and they have huge blackish blue eyes, which are as huge as
cauldrons, blazing with fire. They have long dishevelled hair and teeth that
are many hand lengths long, with which they rip open the ground as they
come towards the deceased. One is called Munkar, and the other is called
Nakeer. They awaken the deceased by jolting him aggressively, before
questioning and interrogating him in a severely harsh tone.’
Now keep the above in your mind and think of what Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌
has mentioned in his couplet. He is explaining to us about the difficulty of
this moment, and he says that in such a difficult and testing time, there will
be none of those whom you supported or helped.
You will be alone, and there is only one hope at that moment, and that is
none other than our Saviour, our Master, our Beloved Nabi Hazrat Ahmad
e Mujtaba Muhammad Mustafa , who will assist us in this testing time,
and who will ease for us this crucial juncture, so that we may answer the
questions of the grave with ease.

We the Ahle Sunnat believe that our Nabi will be in our graves, and His
assistance and Mercy will be our means of salvation.
Hence, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is explaining that if you keep friendship and
honour the deviants (bud-mazhabs), then you will remain alone in your
grave, but if you remain loyal to Sayyiduna Rasoolullah then indeed He
will be there to support and help you in your dark grave as you face
Munkar and Nakeer.
‘Indeed All the great A’imma, and the great Fuqaha, and the Sufiyah
(Awliyah) intercede for their disciples (followers) when their souls are
removed, and when they are questioned by Nakeerain, and when their
book of deeds are opened, and when he is made to stand for accountability,
when his A’maal (deeds) are weighed, and when he walks on Pul Siraat.
They watch over him at all times in all situations. They are never unaware
of his condition at any time.’

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has taught us in this couplet, that you will only be
alone if you deviated from the Path of Truth, but if you hold firm to it, and
leave this world in this manner, then you have no worries of loneliness
during this difficult moment, for The Beloved Rasool will be there to
assist you.

• The entire universe and all which is in it, are through the Blessings

Further discussing this beautiful couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam e
Ishq o Muhab’bat ؓ◌ it must be said that Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Azeem ul
Barkat ؓ◌ is actually explaining that everything in this world is alive and in
motion because of the Beloved Rasool .
From the narrations when Nabi Kareem returned from the Me’raj, it is
established that
• The blessed Wudu water from his Wudu was still flowing,
• The Blessed Bed on which the Beloved Nabi was resting before
departing for this Blessed Journey, was still warm when He
returned.
Why did all this happen? It was because the Soul of the Universe had
left the boundaries of this universe and had gone beyond time and space,
causing the entire universe to come to a standstill.
Hence, in this couplet, our Imam Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is teaching us our
Aqida that Nabi Kareem is Alive.

This is our Aqida and our Yaqeen (conviction) that our Nabi is alive, and
He is present in this physical world, but He is hidden from our weak
eyes.

This couplet is one of the most beautiful, glowing and well-read couplets of
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌.
The great Imam with deep love, spiritual emotion and full faith is taking an
oath by saying, ‘By Allah.’ In other words, he is announcing his and our
Aqida, which is that our Beloved Nabi Kareem is Alive, and in doing so,
he is taking an oath to emphasise that we have no doubt that our Nabi
is alive, even after journeying away from our weak worldly sights.
The fact that our weak worldly eyes cannot see Him does not mean that
He is not alive. There is no doubt that the Ambia e Kiraam Alaihimus
Salaam are alive, and this is at a greater level for Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .

Allama Ibn Hajr Asqalani ؓ◌ who is the distinguished annotator of Bukhari
Shareef presents an exquisite fact when discussing the lives of the Ambia
Alaihimus Salaam after they journey away from our worldly sights. He says
“And since it is evident (from the Qur’an) that the martyrs are alive and
this can also be proven logically, then it is open proof that the Ambia,
whose status is far greater than that of the Shaheeds, are undoubtedly
alive.” [Fathul Baari Sharah Bukhari]
This is a very logical, yet beautiful point which Imam Ibn Hajr ؓ◌ makes.
There is no doubt that the Shuhada e Islam (The True Martyrs of Islam) are
alive, and this is proven from the Holy Qur’an. Thus, when the Shuhada are
alive, and this is proven from the Holy Qur’an, then there can be no doubt
or dispute about the lives of the Ambia e Kiraam Alaihimus Salaam. Hence
there can be no doubt that the one who is the means of the lives and the
excellence which has been bestowed upon all of them, in other words,
Sayyiduna Wa Maulana Muhammad Mustafa , is alive. Further
discussing this beautiful and renowned couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Ash
Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌, and supporting his words, is a narration
reported on the authority of Hazrat Abu Dardah ؓ◌ that the Beloved Nabi
said:

‘Recite Durood upon me in abundance on a Friday since it is a respected
day. On that day the Angels are present (as witnesses), and whosoever
sends Durood upon me on that day, his Durood is presented to me up to the
time when they have completed sending Durood.’ Hazrat Abu Dardah says,
‘I enquired, (O Beloved Nabi ) (will you receive it, i.e. will you still Hear
the Durood) even after your passing.’ The Beloved Nabi said,
‘Verily Almighty Allah has made it Haraam upon the earth that it may
devour the bodies of the Ambia. So, the Nabis of Allah are alive, and they
are given sustenance.’ This Hadith has been reported in Ibn Majah, Jaami
us Sagheer and Mishkaat Shareef, etc.
By the Grace of Allah and the Mercy of His Beloved Rasool , and by taking
shade in the Karam of Huzoor Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌ and seeking the blessings
of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ and all my Masha’ikh, I have attempted to analyse
this Hadith Shareef with my humble knowledge and with the eyes of love,
and I have understood that this Hadith answers some crucial issues, which
I will attempt to present here:

1. I must explain that by Nabi saying, ‘up to the time when they have
completed sending Durood.’ (i.e. even before they finish) shows that the
Angels continue to present the Durood to Nabi Kareem until the person
continues to recite the Durood. In other words, Nabi Kareem continues
to hear the Durood of the reciter, and to grant more honour to the reciter,
the Angels mention who is reciting the Durood, which our Nabi is
hearing. Here receiving means hearing because, in another Hadith which
Imam Al Jazuli ؓ◌ quotes in Dalaa’il ul Khayraat Shareef, the Beloved Nabi
says, ‘I hear the Durood of those who love me, and I recognise them.’
From this we understand that when Hazrat Abu Dardah ؓ◌ said, will you
still receive it even after passing, he was saying, will you still ‘hear the
Durood’ even after passing.
2. This Hadith also explains that the earth cannot eat the bodies of the
Ambia Alaihimus Salaam, and our Nabi clearly said that Allah has made
their bodies Haraam upon the earth.
is evidence that they are alive with body and soul, even after passing away
and the Durood is presented to Him , and He receives it while in his
physical condition.
4. By saying that they receive sustenance again proves life with body and
soul, as sustenance is for the body and not the soul.
5. This Hadith also gives the message that, do not simply think that because
the Qur’an says that the Shuhada are alive and receive sustenance, it is only
unique to them, but in reality the Ambia Alaihimus Salaam already have
this excellence, and this is being afforded to them (the Shuhada) by
Almighty Allah through the blessings of the Ambia Alaihimus Salaam.
6. By saying that the earth does not eat the bodies of the Ambia Alaihimus
Salaam and by saying that they are alive and receive sustenance in
response to whether He will receive (i.e. Hear) our Durood and Salaam,
proves that He is saying that He does hear our Durood and Salaam
physically as well as spiritually, because saying the sand does not eat the
bodies proves he is speaking about hearing with the ears, as the ears belong
to the body, otherwise what need was there to mention the bodies being
untainted when being asked about receiving (i.e. Hearing) the Durood?
7. Again, by saying that the earth does not eat the bodies of the Ambia
Alaihimus Salaam and that they are alive and receive sustenance in answer

to the query about receiving (i.e. Hearing the Durood), proves that
receiving (hearing) the Durood is not restricted to a Friday, rather, it refers
to everyday, because the Ambia Alaihimus Salaam are not only ‘Alive’ on a
Friday, but are alive as always. Hence the answer was not bound to hearing
only on a Friday, or only from one place, but it was generalised and open
to always hearing, from anywhere, be this from a distance or from nearby.
Now, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ swears an oath in this couplet because he does
not have even the slightest doubt in the word of Nabi Kareem . Thus he
swears an oath twice, emphasising that By Allah! He is alive with His
body, and By Allah! Nabi is alive with soul, even though He is
hidden from our worldly sights.

‘So send Durood upon me in abundance (on a Friday) for your Durood is
undoubtedly presented before me.” He (Hajaam) asked, “O Prophet of Allah
! How will our Durood reach you once you have been placed in the
grave?” The Beloved Rasool said, “Allah has made it Haraam upon the
earth that it may eat (devour) the bodies of the Ambia-e-Kiraam.”
This and similar narrations are present in Mishkaat Shareef, Abu Dawud,
Nasa’i Shareef, Ibn Majah Shareef, and in many other Books of Hadith.
Hazrat Imam Badrud’deen Ayni ؓ◌ in the annotation of Bukhari says:

‘It is from Nabi Kareem that, the earth does not eat the bodies of the
Ambia Alaihimus Salaam. From this saying a clear conclusion is derived
that the Ambia Alaihimus Salaam are alive and they have only been hidden
away from us, and we cannot understand their position, like the Angels
(peace and blessings upon them) who are alive and present but we cannot
find (see) them. Yes! Those whom Allah has blessed with special abilities
can even see them.’

I will now present another similar narration and its explanation by another
great Master of Hadith, which will further support and confirm the view
given in this Imaan brightening couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌. The
distinguished Hadith Master Allama Mullah Ali Qaari ؓ◌ mentions as
follows in Mirkaat, the annotation of Mishkaat that the Beloved Rasool
has stated that, ‘Allah has made it Haraam upon the earth to devour the
bodies of the Ambia.’ The great Imam after quoting the above words of the
Hadith states:
‘The reason for this is because the Ambia Alaihimus Salaam are alive in
their graves, and from the answer given to (the question of the Sahabi
concerning how the salaam will be received after passing), it concludes
that the Ambia Alaihimus Salaam are alive in this condition whereby they
are personally able to hear whoever sends Salaat o Salaam upon them.’
The Grand Master of Hadith Hazrat Shaykh Abdul Haq Muhad’dith Delhvi
ؓ◌ in his book Takmeel ul Imaan says,
‘There is no (continuous) death for the Ambia Alaihimus Salaam. They are
alive and existing. Death only comes to them for a single moment. After
that, their souls are returned to their bodies and the life that they had on
earth is given back to them.’
These blessed statements further support and confirm the view presented
in this Imaan brightening couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza
Khan ؓ◌ and confirms our understanding that Nabi Kareem hears the
Durood Shareef which is presented to him.

I will now complete the explanation of this beautiful couplet of Sayyidi Aala
Hazrat ؓ◌ by presenting two more statements from the Grand Masters of
Knowledge and Wisdom.
‘Ibn Hajr has mentioned that the greatest proof regarding the fact that the
Ambia Alaihimus Salaam are alive is that they perform Ibaadat in their Holy
Graves, and they perform Namaaz therein, and they have no real need to
eat and drink, just like the Angels. In other words, they are alive, but they
do not need to eat and drink.’
In other words, even though they receive sustenance, they are not
dependent on it to live. They are alive without the need to eat or drink.

We have attempted to explain the above to help strengthen our Aqida
regarding our Nabi being alive. This is what Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ did
when he penned this couplet.
Those of us who believe that our Nabi is alive and, receives and hears
our Durood and Salaams, then verily we will celebrate His Blessed Moulood
by reciting Salawaat and Salaams upon him , and by discussing and
learning from his blessed Seerah (Life), and by reciting Na’at in his praise.
As for those who do not believe that our Nabi is alive, then, in reality, they
have no right to celebrate, which is why they reject it.
We should always remember that those who accept and those who reject
are not alike, so remain with those who accept and stay away from those
who reject. For us, is that which we have learnt from the pious; all of which
was gathered into one beautiful couplet by our Imam Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
Ash Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌.

In the first stanza he uses the word, ‘Qatrah,’ which means ‘drop’ and in the
second stanza he uses the word, ‘Darya’ which means ‘sea’ or ‘river.’ He
then follows this up by using the word ‘Dur’ which means ‘pearl.’

In the first stanza he also uses the word ‘Baha’ which means ‘cause to flow’
or to ‘generously give’ and in the second stanza he uses the word ‘Be-Baha’
which means ‘priceless’ or ‘to give in abundance.’
Now when we examine these words (flow, drop, sea, and pearl), we will
realise that they are all related to water, and water is that which is natural
and flows in abundance. Pearls are also found in the sea, and are priceless,
whereas even a single drop of water is priceless when needed in absolute
thirst.
Therefore, in this couplet, the great Imam is once again explaining the
unique nature of the generosity of our Beloved Nabi . In other words,
when we ask our Nabi for a drop, meaning something small in our time
of need, our Nabi Kareem is so generous that not only does he give us a
drop but he causes the seas of blessings to flow; and with this He even
blesses us with the priceless pearls of His Special Blessings.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ requested a drop, and the Nabi blessed him
with seas of knowledge and wisdom, and a memory that was amazing. So
incredible was his memory that Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ says,
‘From that day on, I have never forgotten anything which I heard from the
Beloved Nabi .’
Here we can see that Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ asked as per his need, and
Nabi Kareem blessed him as per His Excellence and Special
Generosity, making Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ one of the most reliable and
foremost narrators of Hadith e Mustafa .
In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is also explaining the blessings and
the bounties of the Beloved Nabi . He is explaining that whatever you
ask for, you will receive more than you could have imagined because you
are not about to ask as much as He can give, for His Blessings are
without limits.

When people asked for material things, our Nabi granted them more
than they could imagine.
Once, a Bedouin came to Nabi Kareem , and our Beloved Master gave
him an entire valley of goats. He was astonished and went back to his tribe
and announced to them about the generosity of Nabi Kareem .
When anyone asked Deen from Nabi , He blessed them with such
excellence in Deen that none can be compared to them after their era. He
blessed those who asked for a drop with seas of Blessings and Mercy.
Hazrat Rabee’a bin Ka’ab ؓ◌ requested on the command of Nabi and was
blessed with glad-tidings of being in Jannah with Nabi Kareem .

‘And it is near that your Rub will bless you so abundantly, that you will be
pleased.’ [Surah Ad-Duha (93) Verse 5]
Will it not please Almighty Allah if we show love, respect and honour to
our Nabi ? The answer to this is very clear. Indeed it will.
Thus, those who celebrate the Moulood un Nabi show love, respect and
honour to Nabi Kareem when commemorating the Moulood, and in it
they recite verses of the Holy Qur’an, and explain proper narrations about
the Blessed Life of Nabi , and they praise His Excellence as bestowed
upon Him by Almighty Allah.

‘One who has obeyed the Rasool, indeed it is he, who has obeyed Almighty
Allah.’ [Surah An-Nisa (4), Verse 80]

Like some of the deobandis of today (who falsely claim that we equate the
Nabi to Allah; Allah Forbid), some of the Munafiqeen (hypocrites) in the
time of Nabi said that Nabi Muhammad wants us to believe in Him
as Allah, just as the Christians believed in Hazrat Esa ibn Maryam
Alaihis Salaam as the Almighty. In refutation of those people (and those
like them), Almighty Allah revealed this verse, and supported and verified
the words of the Beloved Rasool , that indeed to obey the Beloved Rasool
is to obey Almighty Allah. [Khaza’in ul Irfan]
Now, this clearly supports that which Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has explained
in this beautiful couplet, that everyone wishes for Allah to be pleased with
them, but Allah will only be pleased with them if His Beloved Nabi is
pleased.
Today, those who object to the Meelad Shareef and other blessed practices
which are a means of becoming close to Nabi , use the same ploy which
the hypocrites of that time used.
They say to the people, ‘Those celebrating Moulood imitate the Christians
who celebrate Christmas.’ They compare the Muslims to the Christians, and
this is what the hypocrites in the time of Nabi Kareem did, and the
Qur’an refuted these hypocrites.
In this couplet Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has refuted by Allah’s Grace, all those
who have such corrupt and deviant beliefs.

If we truly wish to please Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , and thereby attain
the pleasure of Allah, we should stay away from all ‘Bud-madhabs’
(Deviants), no matter what their level of deviancy is.
Do not befriend them, and keep yourself away from them, and from those
who associate with them. If you associate with deviants or those who give
deviants respect and honour, how do you expect to attain the pleasure of
Allah and His Rasool ?
I request you to honestly and sincerely ask yourself these questions from
the depths of your heart, without any bias, and by making Allah and His
Rasool your witness:
• Can those who say that Nabi is Alive and aware of us, and those
who claim (Allah Forbid) He is ‘dead’, be alike?
• Will a real Muslim keep association and sympathise with those who
have such malicious views about remembering and honouring the
Beloved Rasool ?

• Bearing in mind that we will all die one day, and death is closer to
us than we know, how will you stand in the Court of Allah and His
Rasool on the Plains of Reckoning, after you have intentionally
befriended and sympathised with those who have such malicious
views about remembering and honouring Sayyiduna Rasoolullah
?
We should strive to please Allah and His Beloved Rasool , so that our
Aakhirat (hereafter) may be safe, and we should never compromise Haq
(Righteousness) to please the people of the world, by displeasing Allah and
His Rasool , thereby destroying our hereafter.

This is a truly marvellous couplet which flows with fountains of love for
the Beloved Nabi .
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat Ash Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan
ؓ◌ is explaining what the condition of a heart should be, and he further
tells us what the condition of a head should be.

Imam e Ahle Sunnat is explaining that, yes it is a heart, but ‘A Heart’ is ‘That
Heart’ which is absorbed in the love of the Beloved Rasool . Why?
Because when the heart is absorbed in the love of Nabi Kareem , then it
does not just pump blood to the body, but it filters the foreign elements
and the whispering of shaitaan.
When the heart is absorbed in the love of Rasoolullah , it does not just
pump blood through the body, but it pumps spiritual blessings to the entire
body, and when this blessedness reaches the hands, then when one raises
his hands, it is to say the Takbeer for Salaah; when it reaches his eyes, he
shuns the evil sights of the world and looks towards the Holy Qur’an, and
longs to see the Gumbad e Khazra; When it reaches his ears, he does not
wish to listen to the sinful sounds, but he strives to listen to the words of
Imaan and piety.
This is why the Beloved Rasool said, ‘There is a piece (lump) of flesh on
the left of the body of Bani Adam (humans). If that is in order, then the
entire body is in order, and if that is damaged (corrupt) then the entire
body is damaged.’ [Bukhari Shareef]
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Azeem ul Barkat ؓ◌, the great Mujad’did (Reformer and
Reviver) is explaining that the heart and the head are found in all humans,
but the heart and the head of a Believer, has an excellence beyond it just
being a physical part of the body.

He explains that the heart of a Believer is the sanctuary of the love of Allah
and His Beloved Rasool . The heart attains its true excellence and
spiritual capability when it is adorned by the true love and remembrance
of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
The hearts of the Sahaba e Kiraam were totally absorbed in the love of Nabi
Kareem . Hence the hearts of none in the Ummah can be compared to
their hearts, for their hearts were absorbed in the profound love and
remembrance of Nabi Kareem .
The hearts of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique, Hazrat Umar e Faruq, Hazrat
Uthman e Ghani, Hazrat Ali e Murtada, Hazrat Khadijatul Kubra, Hazrat
A’isha Siddiqa, Hazrat Faatimatuz Zahra, Hazrat Imam e Hasan, Hazrat
Imam e Husain, Hazrat Sayyidush Shuhada Amir Hamza, Hazrat Bilal e
Habshi, Hazrat Has’saan ibn Thaabit, Hazrat Abdullah ibn Rawaaha, and the
hearts of all the Ahle Bayt and all the Sahaba (Allah is pleased with them
all) were ‘The Real Hearts.’ In other words, the hearts that fulfil their
maximum purpose.
Their hearts were so radiant and so pure that the radiance of their hearts
manifested into the hearts of the Tabi’een, and the radiance of their hearts
manifested into the Tab-be’ Tabi’een, and the radiance of their hearts
manifested into the hearts of the Awliyah Kaamileen, and so on and so

forth, causing their hearts to be absorbed in the remembrance and deep
love of Nabi Kareem .
It is through their hearts that the hearts of the Ulama e Haq of every era
have been enlightened, just as in this era, through the blessedness of the
hearts of personalities like Huzoor Sayyidi Taajush Shariah, Huzoor Sayyidi
Muhad’dith e Kabeer (Allah exalt their secret), Huzoor Syed Shah Turab ul
Haq Alaihir Rahma and all the true Ulama and Masha’ikh, the hearts of the
believers of this era are enlightened, so that we too may taste the
blessedness of adorning our hearts in the love and remembrance of our
Beloved Master .
This is why Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza ؓ◌ says that the real and
genuine hearts are those which are absorbed in the love and remembrance
of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
I will now attempt to explain the second stanza briefly. Here, Sayyidi Aala
Hazrat Azeem ul Barkat ؓ◌ is saying, ‘A head, in reality, is that head which
is sacrificed at your Sacred Feet.’

Firstly, I must clarify that this does not refer to those evil ones who
terrorise and kill people mercilessly in the name of Islam, and then claim
that they have ‘sacrificed their lives for Islam.’ These are misled and evil
people who in reality have nothing to do with Islam.
Now, going back to this stanza, then just as we spoke about the heart of the
general people and the hearts of those with ‘Real Hearts,’ the same applies
here to the head. In other words, a head which is special is one that is
sacrificed at the Sacred Feet of Nabi Kareem .
This is not only in the literal sense, where the Blessed Companions
sacrificed their lives for the sake of Islam, in the real love of Allah and His
Rasool , but it is also metaphorical, in the sense where one sacrifices all
his worldly wishes for the sake of attaining the pleasure of Nabi Kareem
. Therefore, in this sense he is sacrificing his life, in other words, his
worldly desires, to achieve the pleasure of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . And
this will indeed bring him to the sacred feet of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah
when he is awarded Jannah through the intercession of Nabi Kareem .
If we look at the entire couplet, we will also notice one vital point. Sayyidi
Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ uses the word ‘Heart’ in the first stanza, and then he uses
the word ‘Head’ in the second stanza.
This is the eloquence of the words used by the great Imam. He is giving the
benefit of the meaning of the Hadith Shareef.

We mentioned before that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah said, ‘There is a piece
(lump) of flesh on the left of the body of Bani Adam (humans). If that is in
order, then the entire body is in order, and if that is damaged (corrupt)
then the entire body is damaged.’ [Bukhari Shareef]
Now, look at how Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ says ‘heart’ and then ‘head.’ He
does this to show the message of the Hadith Shareef, that if the heart is in
order and adorned in the love of Rasoolullah , then the head too will be
in order and will follow the heart in the love of Nabi Kareem . This will
allow the heart to be sacrificed at the Sacred Feet of Nabi Kareem ,
meaning in being obedient to the Command of Allah and following in the
blessed manner of Nabi , by prostrating in Salaah for the sake of Allah,
and this will surely please Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . This was another
metaphorical explanation of the words of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌.
There are those who usually object to such words and say that, we must
sacrifice everything for Allah. Why is it being stated that we should
sacrifice our lives at the feet of Rasoolullah ? Sacrifice is only for Allah
etc.
Firstly, they have failed to realise and understand that when one sacrifices
anything, be it his time, wealth, life or anything for the pleasure of Nabi
Kareem ; then this is a sacrifice for the pleasure of Allah.

However, to explain this futile objection, let me remind you that you will
find many times in the Hadith Shareef the words,
As mentioned earlier, the word ‘sacrifice’ is not always literal but is also
used as a metaphor, and even this is permissible and proven, from the
above example.
At this juncture, thinking about those who sacrificed everything for the
love of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , the incident of Hazrat Khubaib ibn Adi
ؓ◌ comes to mind, which has been beautifully presented by Shaykh
Muhaq’qiq Shaykh Abdul Haq Muhad’dith Delhvi Alaihir Rahma in
Madarijun Nubuw’wah.
It is reported that, when the kuffar e Makkah took him towards Tan’eem,
with the intention of martyring him, then on the way they said to him, ‘Do
you wish Muhammad was here now, instead of you, while you sat safely
in your home.’

When Hazrat Khubaib ibn Adi Radi Allahu heard this comment from the
kuffar e Makkah, he said,
‘By Allah! I cannot even bear this, that a thorn should pierce the Sacred
Feet of my Nabi , while I sit safely in my home.’
Allahu Akbar! Look at his love for the Beloved Rasool , and observe how
even though he was about to be martyred, he announced his profound love
for Nabi Kareem by saying he would rather sacrifice his life than have
a thorn pierce the Sacred Feet of Nabi Kareem .

Here Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has used the word ‘Najdi’ which refers to the
followers of the heretic known as Mohammed bin Abdul Wahab Najdi, who
founded the corrupt and deviant wahabi sect, which became the base and
the ideology of the deobandis, and many other deviant sects. It is his evil
ideology which has given rise to the current modern day wave of terrorism,
which has caused turmoil on the earth.

In 1209 Hijri, he unleashed a reign of terror and corruption in Arabia,
mainly targeting Makkah Shareef and Madina Shareef. He mercilessly
executed many Ulama and demolished and dug up many Mazaars of the
Sahaba-e-Kiraam, Ulama and Shuhada. (Allah Forbid) He referred to the
Blessed Rauda-e-Anwar of the Beloved Rasool as ‘As Sanam al-Akbar,’
meaning ‘The biggest Idol.’
In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is explaining that the sign of a true
believer is one who is willing to sacrifice his all for the love of Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah . Whereas on the contrary, the deviants try to stop us from
announcing our love for Nabi , by labelling the actions of the true
believers as ‘Shirk’ and ‘Bid’at.’
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is explaining reality, that even when these deviants
are heard or seen showing honour to Nabi , then it is clear that this is
with a dead and unwilling heart, which they only use as a means to trap the
unsuspecting believers in their web of deceit.

Every time we recite a couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, we can feel the
deep sea of love for Sayyiduna Rasoolullah flowing in it.
This is why great scholars like Mubal’ligh e Islam Hazrat Allama Syed Shah
Turab ul Haq Qaadiri Alaihir Rahma always referred to Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌ as ‘Imam e Ishq-o-Muhab’bat.’

In this couplet, the words, ‘Tere Qadmo(n) me jo hai(n),’ meaning ‘Those
who are in your Sacred Feet’ refers to those who have been blessed with
seeing and having had the honour of being in the service of Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah .
After that, it refers to all those who are absorbed in the love of Nabi Kareem
.
It also refers to those who have been blessed with seeing the Beloved Nabi
in their dreams.
Here Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is also explaining that when you fall in love
with someone you are usually attracted to the beauty of their face.
He says that falling in love by looking at the face is one thing, but those
blessed ones who just saw the Sacred Soles of the Sacred Feet of Nabi
Kareem fell so deeply in love with Him , that they did not wish to
look at the face of any other with the same love again.
The Sahaba e Kiraam loved Nabi Kareem so dearly, and they were so
absorbed in his unique beauty that after seeing Nabi Kareem , they
believed that their eyes did not need to see anyone or anything else in this
world.

A beautiful and Imaan reviving incident is that of Hazrat Abdullah ibn Zaid
Ansari ؓ◌.
On receiving this sad news, Hazrat Abdullah ibn Zaid ؓ◌ made Dua in the
Court of Almighty Allah. He said,
‘O, Allah! Take away my vision (sight) with which I look at this world. Now,
what need do I have for these eyes, whereas I will be unable to (physically)
see the beautiful face of your Nabi any longer (in this world)? I do not
want to see anything else with these eyes except your Beloved Nabi ,
who is now hidden from my sight, so what need do I have for these eyes
any longer.’
The Dua of Hazrat Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Zaid Ansari ؓ◌ was accepted and
he immediately lost his vision in the deep love of Nabi Kareem . [Ref
Madarijun Nubuw’wah]
Subhaan’Allah! Look at the love which Hazrat Abdullah ibn Zaid Al Ansari
ؓ◌ possessed for Nabi Kareem .
It shows that all he wished for was to be in the sacred presence of Nabi
Kareem .

Abdullah ibn Zaid ؓ◌, we can better understand this enlightening couplet

everything, even their lives, in the love of Nabi Kareem , and for those

Imaan in the Blessed City of Nabi Kareem .
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ explains that, what better place to pass away than
at the Sacred Feet of the Master , who By Allah’s Grace has nurtured us
and blessed us with everything which we have, and there is no doubt that
our Nabi nurtures us with His Love, Blessings and Mercy; and there
is no doubt that all we have is through His blessings.

This is yet another amazing couplet from the magnificent Salaam ‘Tum Pe
Karoro Durood’ penned by Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌
in the love of Nabi Kareem . Subhaan'Allah! This is the Mercy of our Nabi
. No matter what anyone did to Nabi personally, our Nabi forgave
them when they sincerely asked for forgiveness. Our Beloved Nabi is
indeed ‘Mercy unto the Worlds.’

If we flip through the pages of history since mankind entered this earth,
you will never find examples of Mercy compared to the Mercy of the
Beloved Nabi .
Look through history and study the episode of ‘Fateh Makkah’ (The Grand
Victory at Makkah), and you will not find an example of Mercy like that
before, or after.
Those who were responsible for causing so much of pain and hurt to the
Beloved Rasool , He forgave and pardoned in the Name of Allah.
To better understand how forgiving and Merciful Nabi Kareem is, and
how in the blink of an eye, with an open heart, He forgave those who
were criminals before him and His illustrious family, let us go back in
history more than 1400 years ago.
When Hab’bar ibn Al Aswad heard that Sayyidatuna Zainab ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎ was
about to make Hijrat (migrate) to Madina Shareef, he took some people
from the Quraish and obstructed her from leaving. He struck her with a
spear, which caused her to fall off her camel, onto a rock. She was pregnant
at this time and was severely injured and miscarried her baby. She became
very ill and later passed away due to this illness.

Nabi Kareem was immensely upset by this despicable act of Hab’bar ibn
Al Aswad and ordered that if he is found, he should be executed. He fled
after Fateh Makkah and could not be found.
‘O Hab’bar! I have forgiven you. Islam wipes out all wrongs and destroys
the foundations of past sins.’
Allahu Akbar! Who would so easily forgive such a huge wrong? Who would
not retaliate in such a situation? Only Rahmatul lil Aalameen !
Our Nabi also forgave people like Hind bint Utbah and Wahshi bin Harb
who were those responsible for the martyrdom of His uncle, Sayyidush
Shuhada Hazrat Sayyiduna Amir Hamzah ؓ◌.

They were responsible for the mutilation of his blessed body, yet when they
repented and accepted Islam Sayyiduna Rasoolullah pardoned them,
and gave them a place in His Mercy, and they were counted amongst
the Sahaba e Kiraam. This is why after saying,
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ praises and Salutes the Mercy of the Beloved Rasool
by saying, ‘Tens of Millions of Durood be upon You.’

In this couplet Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has per say gathered the essence of
the sea of excellence of Sarkaar e Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌ into a goblet. In just
one couplet he has passed the message of the excellence of Huzoor Ghauth
e Azam ؓ◌.
He is explaining that leave alone all the greatness and excellence that
Almighty Allah has bestowed upon this Beloved of Nabi Kareem , just
try to understand that this is such a personality that in the Domain of
Wilaayah, even the most distinguished amongst the distinguished accept
and regard his blessed foot above their heads.
He is explaining that to say that the foot of Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌ is above the
heads of the distinguished is one thing. The distinguished themselves have

said this about the blessed foot of Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌. A very well-known
example of this is the incident which occurred at the Court of Shaykh ul
Masha’ikh Sayyiduna Junaid e Baghdadi ؓ◌, who lived almost two hundred
years before Sarkaar Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌.
After he exited this spiritual condition, his disciples questioned him about
these words, and he said, ‘I have been informed that a great Saint will be
born towards the end of the fifth century. His name will be Abdul Qaadir
and his title will be Muhiyud’deen. He will be born in Jilan, and he will
reside in Baghdad. One day, on the command of Allah, he will say, ‘My foot
is on the necks of all the Awliyah Allah.’ While in my deep spiritual
condition, I saw his excellence and these words were uttered by me without
my control.’

This couplet can also be understood from the narration we quoted earlier
about Hazrat Junaid e Baghdadi ؓ◌. However, this love and honour for
Huzoor Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌ is evident from all the Awliyah Allah. This is
because the Mantle of Wilaayat is distributed by the blessed hands of
Sarkaar e Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌. Shaykh Abu Bakr Bin Haw’waar ؓ◌ lived before
the era of Huzoor Ghauth e Azam and is amongst the distinguished
Masha’ikh of Baghdad Shareef. Once during his Majlis he said, there are
seven Aqtaab of Iraq:

• Sayyiduna Junaid Al Baghdadi ؓ◌
On hearing this, Sayyidi Abu Muhammad ؓ◌, who was a mureed of Shaykh
Abu Bakr ؓ◌ asked, ‘We have heard and know six of these names, but the
seventh, we have not heard of (him). O Shaykh! Who is Abdul Qaadir Jilani?’
Shaykh Abu Bakr ؓ◌ replied,
‘Abdul Qaadir will be a non-Arab (and a) pious man. He will be born towards
the end of the fifth century Hijri, and he will reside in Baghdad.’
Sayyidi Shaykh Khaleel Balkhi ؓ◌ is a great Wali-Allah and lived before the
time of Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌. He said:
‘A pure servant of Allah will appear in Iraq towards the end of the fifth
century. The world will attain brightness through his presence. He will be
the Ghauth of his time. Allah’s Creation will be obedient to him, and he will
be the Leader of the Awliyah Allah.’

Here Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has used two words which are fascinating and
give a beautiful meaning. In the first stanza he used the word ‘Mazra’ which
refers to a field or a bare field, and in the second stanza he uses the word
‘kisht’ which refers to a field which has already been sown with seeds. How
beautifully he has used these two words to explain the blessings of Huzoor
Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌.

If we observe carefully and take note of what Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has
said, we will understand his message. He is saying, be it the Spiritual Courts
of the Awliyah of Chisht, Iraq, Bukhara or Ajmer, when they are just open
fields of spiritualism, Ghauth e Azam showers upon them his rains of
blessings by Allah’s Grace, thereby preparing them to sow the seeds of
Spiritual success, like bare land which becomes fertile after the rains,
making it easy to plant seeds into it. Likewise, once these Awliyah have
planted the seeds of spiritual blessings, then once again Huzoor Ghauth e
Azam showers over them his special blessings, allowing them, their Silsilas,
their Khanqahs and their mureeds to flourish, through his showers of
Ruhani Blessings.
It has been accepted and acknowledged by all the Awliyah of every place,
every city and every town, that they depend on the blessings distributed
by Huzoor Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌. To better understand this, we go back to
when he announced that his foot is on the necks of all the Awliyah. At this
time all of them lowered their necks, and the great Khwaja Mu’eenud-deen
Chishti ؓ◌, while in a deep state of spiritual meditation, said, (Not just on
my neck but) ‘On my head,’ and the showers of Huzoor Ghauth e Azam’s
blessings rained down upon him and he flourished spiritually, and was
blessed with being Sultan ul Hind ؓ◌.
Thus, Huzoor Sayyidi Aala Hazrat beautifully mentions this excellence and
this blessing of Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌ in this couplet, so that we may all know
that the Blessings of Wilaayat are distributed through Sarkaar Ghauth e
Azam ؓ◌.

There is no doubt that Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ was absorbed in the deep love
of Sarkaar Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌, who is the Beloved of the Beloved Nabi .
When Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ addressed Huzoor Ghauth
e Paak ؓ◌, he did not just address him, or direct his love towards him, on
the basis of him being the Imam ul Awliyah, but it was on the basis of
Sarkaar e Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌ being the Noble Descendant and the Beloved
of the Beloved Rasool .

This is clearly evident from this couplet. Here Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is
calling out to Huzoor Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌ and saying that, O Ghauth e Azam
ؓ◌! You have said that you will give whatever we ask of you, so O Ghauth e
Azam ؓ◌! Listen to Raza’s plea! He is not asking for anything else from your
treasures of Wilaayat, He is asking you of yourself, for I know that if I have
you, I have your love, your special attention and your special sight, and
once I have that, then I have indeed attained the Special Blessings of Nabi
Kareem , for you are His Beloved.
Once, I have this, I will surely be blessed with the special Mercy from the
Court of Almighty Allah, for O Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌, you are the Beloved of
The Beloved Nabi , and my Beloved Nabi is The Most Beloved of
Allah.

Let Alone The Walis, The Rasools Came, Even Our Nabi Himself Visited;
Such Is The Assembly of Your Discourses, O Ghauth!
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is explaining the excellence
of the gathering and the assembly of Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌. His Mehfils
(assemblies) were so blessed that even the Awliyah Allah visited and
presented themselves at his Mehfils. Scores of Awliyah Allah frequented
the gatherings during each time. This alone is sufficient to understand the
excellence of the gatherings of Sarkaar e Ghauth e Azam Shaykh Abdul
Qaadir Al Jilani Al Baghdad ؓ◌. However, for us to better understand how
blessed these gatherings were, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is telling us that, you
know well that the Walis frequented his Mehfils, but let alone the Walis,
the Mehfils of Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌ were blessed by the presence of the
Rasools. It is well-known that Hazrat Khidr Alaihis Salaam blessed these
gatherings on many occasions. Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ then says that not

only the Rasools but the Imam of Nabis and Rasools, Our Beloved Nabi
often blessed the Mehfils of Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌ with His ؓ◌ Blessed Presence.
Hazrat Allama Mulla Ali Qaari ؓ◌ quotes the following blessed incident in
his Nuzhatul Khaatir Al Faatir. Hazrat Shaykh Baqa ؓ◌ reports, I was once
present listening to the discourse of Huzoor Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌ when
suddenly he stopped his discourse and descended from the Mimbar (Pulpit)
onto the ground. He then ascended the Mimbar and sat on its second step.
I then saw that the first step became so vast (i.e. it turned into a huge
platform), which spread out for as far as my eyes could see. On it was set a
soft covering, and I saw that the Beloved Rasool was present there,
sitting on this (large platform). I also saw that Hazrat Abu Bakr, Hazrat
Umar, Hazrat Uthman and Hazrat Ali (Allah is pleased with them all) were
also seated with Nabi Kareem . By The Grace of Allah, a light manifested
upon the heart of our Shaykh, and he bent over, and it was near that he
may fall to the ground, but the Beloved Nabi supported him. He then
began to reduce in size, until he became as small as a bird. After few
moments he began to grow in size until he took an awe-inspiring form.
Then, suddenly all of this disappeared from my sight.
Huzoor Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌ was later asked about the three conditions which
Hazrat Baqa ؓ◌ had witnessed, and he said that, when the initial first light
was manifested on his heart by Allah’s Grace, then none can withstand this
without the support of Nabi Kareem . Hence the Beloved Nabi
supported him before he fell due to the intensity of this manifestation. In
the second instance, it was the manifestation of Jalaal (Majesty), which
caused him to reduce in size, and the third was the manifestation of Jamaal
(Beauty), which caused him to take this awe-inspiring form.

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza ؓ◌ is calling out to
Huzoor Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌ spiritually and asking him to fulfil his plea, by
Allah’s Command.
What is the plea of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌? It is that disbelief (kufr) and
heresy should be incinerated (i.e. It should be destroyed) by the light of
Deen e Mustafa .
‘In 511 Hijri, I was on my way barefooted towards Baghdad. On the way, I
came across a person who was very ill, weak and pale. He conveyed Salaam
to me and then addressed me by my name. He requested me to come close
to him. As I approached him, he asked me to support him (to stand up).
Then suddenly before my eyes, he started to become healthy, and his
colour and condition looked very healthy. On seeing this, I was in awe. He
then said to me, do you recognise me? I answered in the negative, so he
said to me, I am Deen and (the condition of) Deen e Islam was as you saw
me initially. In this current society, I was in a frail state, but due to your
sincere efforts, Allah has given me a fresh life (i.e. I have been revived).’
This incident explains the words of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ about Ghauth e
Azam ؓ◌ being the helper and reviver of Deen by Allah’s Grace. Hence,
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ calls out to Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌ asking him to revive
the Deen once again, as the Muslims have once again become weak and the
Deen needs to be revived. In doing so, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is requesting
the spiritual assistance of Huzoor Ghauth e Paak ؓ◌.

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza ؓ◌ is initially telling
us about the intensity of the fire of Hell. Then he asks respectfully in the
Court of Allah that, O Allah, we know that Hell-Fire is extremely intense,
but has the fire of Hell still not become cool for the believers, so that when
the Ummah of your Nabi passes over it, they will not feel its intensity?
Our Nabi wept and made so much of Dua for us that His tears would
surely form rivers (seas). Through the blessings of His tears, our path
over the fire of hell will be eased. He would often weep in the love of
his Ummah. The Beloved Nabi would spend long hours in the dark of
night weeping in the Court of Allah for His Ummah. Our Nabi loves
us so dearly that He has kept for us, the most distinctive Dua which was
granted to Him .

It is reported in Muslim Shareef on the authority of Hazrat Abu Hurairah

‘Every Nabi has been blessed with a special Dua, the acceptance of which is
guaranteed. Every Nabi has swiftly made use of this Dua (in the world), but
I have saved this Dua for the intercession of my Ummah on the day of
Qiyaamah. And if Allah Wills, then it will (surely) be granted, for every such
person in my Ummah, on condition that he passes away without
associating any partner with Allah.’ [Muslim Shareef - The Book of Imaan]
Allahu Akbar! Look at how much our Nabi loves us! Think about all the
times that our Nabi wept for us, and then look at our lives and think
about how many times have we wept in the love of our Nabi . Sayyidi
Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ in this couplet is reminding us that we cannot receive
salvation without the Mercy of our Nabi . He is telling us that if the fire
of hell becomes cool upon us, it is because of our Nabi , and if we are
saved from the fire of hell, then this too is through the Mercy and Dua of
our Beloved Nabi . Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ wants us to realise that Allah
has blessed us with a Nabi who loves us so dearly that he spent nights
weeping for our forgiveness and salvation, and it is only due to this that we
will be pardoned and saved from hell-fire.

The Forest Is Deserted, The Night Is Dark, Black Clouds Are Hanging Over, O’
Those In Slumber! Remain Alert;

This is an amazing and very deep couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌. It has
an apparent and a hidden meaning and gives us a crucial message.
Apparently, it seems that Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is warning a person who
is travelling through a deserted forest, during a dark, overcast night, to be
very careful when he decides to rest, for even though the forest seems
deserted, there are bandits and robbers lurking in the darkness of night
waiting to rob him of his valuables. However, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam
Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ has written this couplet, as a deterrent, to caution the
Muslims about protecting their Imaan. He is explaining to us that the world
which we live in today is like a deserted forest, during a dark, overcast
night. He uses the word ‘Sonay Waalo’ which seems to refer to those in a
slumber, in other words, those who are asleep, but the hidden meaning is
more prevalent, and that is, ‘Sonay Waalo’ means ‘those possessing gold
(valuables).’

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is explaining to the Believers that you possess the
most precious treasure and the most cherished belonging, and that is your
Imaan, and like a man who has gold will not sleep when travelling through
a deserted forest on a dark night, but rather he would remain awake to
protect his gold, you too should realise that this world and this present
time is like a deserted forest, on a dark, overcast night, covered by thick
black clouds. It is so dark that you are unable to see much, not even the
thieves who are prowling around, looking to rob you of your greatest
treasure, which is your Imaan. Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is warning us that
there is darkness of unbelief, deviancy, and hypocrisy all around us, and
the deviants, meaning those who claim to be believers but in reality are
wolves in sheep skin, are trying to mislead us and plunge us into kufr and
deviancy, by trying to take away our Imaan, and by trying to weaken our
love for the Beloved Rasool . He is warning us to be alert and not to fall
into the trap of the deviants. All his life Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ cautioned
the Muslims to stay away from the Bud-mazhabs (deviants), as he firmly
believed in the words of the Hadith Shareef. He thus passed the message of
the Hadith Shareef to the Muslims, so that they may protect their Imaan
and be wary of the evil, deceitful deviants. He passed this message from the
Hadith concerning the deviants:
ْﻔ ﻨ ْﻮﻧ ﻜ ْﻢS ﻠ ْﻮﻧ ﻜ ْﻢ وﻻa ﻀS ﻻ،ْ ﻢn ﻓﺈ ﻳ"ﺎ ﻛ ْﻢ و ﺇ)ﻳ"ﺎ
‘So stay away from them and keep them away from you, so that they may
not cause you to be misguided or plunged into corruption (deviance).’

Subhaan’Allah! Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Ash Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is
making Dua for the preservation of the area of Madina Shareef (i.e. The
Madni Region). In other words, he is making Dua for the preservation of
the Blessed City of Madina. This couplet indicates that Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌ was in a state of spiritual bliss at the time of writing it, as it seems as if
he is either looking at or thinking of all the different types of people that
travel from all over the world to spend some blessed days in the Blessed
City of Rasoolullah .

In writing this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is also telling us that no
matter how wealthy and how powerful we are, when we go to Madina
Shareef, we have come to The Kings of Kings, Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , so
we are all beggars and mendicants in his exalted Court, and it is His
Mercy that He has afforded us some place in His Blessed City. It can also
mean that indeed Madina Shareef is the Blessed City of Salvation, for
entering the Court of Nabi Kareem grants salvation to those who come
sincerely to the Court of Nabi as beggars before their Master .
In this couplet Sayyidi Aala Hazrat is also presenting his love and
admiration for Madina Shareef, reminding us to appreciate the excellence
and the beauty of ‘The City of Light’. He knows that Madina Shareef is
protected and will be preserved because, by Allah’s Grace, our Nabi
rules the universe from Madina Shareef, but Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ still
makes Dua for the surroundings (i.e. the area) of Madina Shareef to be
preserved. This is his love for the Blessed City and the outpouring of his
excitement as he observes the blessings upon those who present
themselves there.
‘On the Day of Reckoning, I will first intercede for the people of Madina,
then (I will intercede) for the people of Makkah, followed by the people of
Taa’if.’

Here Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is reminding us about
how important it is for us to hold firmly to the Beloved Rasool . He is
telling us that in times of difficulty and hardship, those closest to us will be
worried about saving themselves, and even if you try to hold on to them,
they are likely to shake your hands off. In other words, they are likely to
push you away to save themselves, but our Nabi is not one who will
push you away or shun you even in the most difficult time, but He will
take you with Him , and He will assist you to reach the final stage of
success. Here the word ‘Jhatakne Waale’ means one who pulls his hand
away by shaking you away, with a jolt, and our Nabi is not one who will
do that to those who hold to Him with true faith. Even though we are
weak and sinful, we have belief in the Mercy of Allah, and in the
intercession of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . It is reported in Tirmizi Shareef
that Hazrat Anas ؓ◌ once asked Nabi to intercede for him on the day of

Qiyaamah, so Nabi Kareem said, ‘I am the one who will do this (i.e.
intercede)’ So Hazrat Anas ؓ◌ says, I said, Ya Rasool’Allah ! Where should
I look for you (on the day of Reckoning)? Nabi Kareem said, look for me!
First look for me at Siraat. Hazrat Anas ؓ◌ says, I said, and if I am unable to
find you at Siraat (The Bridge)? Nabi said, then look for me at the
Mizaan (The Scale). Hazrat Anas ؓ◌ says, I said, and if I am unable to find
you at the Mizaan? Nabi said, then look for me at the Haudh (i.e. Pond
of Kauthar), for certainly, I will not be unnoticeable at these three places
(i.e. you will not miss me at any of these three places).’ While discussing
the Day of Reckoning, Qadi Sadrush Shariah ؓ◌ says,
What Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is telling us is that, when all will turn us away,
and there will be none to assist us, our helper will be Nabi Kareem . He
is advising us to hold firmly to our Nabi and to shun all those who try
to divert us from his true love.
Shun and reject the deviants, and hold firmly to the Beloved Nabi , and
He will take you towards the gardens of Paradise, for he never shuns
the one who holds to him sincerely.

Let Us Pass Over The Bridge, Without The Path Even Realising It,
As Jibra’eel Spreads Out His Wings, Without His Wings Even Realising It
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Ash Shah Imam Ahmed Raza ؓ◌, is making a plea in the
Court of the Beloved Rasool concerning the moment when the Ummat
will have to pass over Pul Siraat (The Bridge of Siraat) on the Day of
Reckoning. We should first remind ourselves about what the Pul Siraat is.
This is a bridge which is constructed over the fire of Hell. It is thinner than
a hair and sharper than a sword. This is the only route that can be taken to
enter Jannat. The Beloved Rasool will be the first to cross the Pul Siraat
followed by all the Ambia and Mursaleen Alaihimus salaam, followed by the
Ummat of the Beloved Rasool and then the Ummats of all the other
Prophets.
We know that our Saviour, our Beloved Nabi will be waiting on the
other end of Pul Siraat praying for his Ummah to pass safely. He will be
saying: ’O Allah grant them (my Ummah) safe passage.’

Concerning this scenario on the Day of Qiyaamat, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌
On the eve of Me’raj when Nabi Kareem asked Hazrat Jibra’eel Alaihis
Salaam if he had any special request to be presented in the Court of Allah,
Hazrat Jibra’eel wished that he should be allowed to spread his wings over
Pul Siraat when the Ummat e Mustafa pass over it, so as to ease their
crossing over the Pul Siraat.
Hence, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ requests that when the Ummah passes over
the wings of Hazrat Jibra’eel Alaihis Salaam on that day, as he spreads them
over Pul Siraat, then even the wings of Hazrat Jibra’eel Alaihis Salaam
should not feel the Ummah passing over his Wings.

We should bear in mind this warning of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, as even in
this time we find many who have become slaves of their desire. They follow
their addictions and ignore the restrictions. We should never let our Nafs
come in the way of following Shariat e Mustafa . Even if we commit
wrong or make an error, we should accept it as our personal weakness and
not try to justify it as being correct, just to satisfy our Nafs and save face.
This causes many to oppose the teachings of the pious predecessors and
brings them into direct conflict with the teachings and verdicts of the
Akaabireen. Such people, due to pride over their knowledge and being
duped by their Nafs, find themselves on the path to self-destruction, a path
deviously carved by their worldly aspirations, and their love for the dying
fame of this world. May Allah protect us from the deceit of our nafs, and
from the deceit of the deviants! Aameen.

Every person fears this day, as none knows what his outcome will be and
what is in store for him, but look at the eagerness of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌.
He is taking us towards the scenario on the day of reckoning, but he is
taking us away from the troubles and fears of that day, towards a genuine
greatness of this day.

He is saying to all those who are sincerely absorbed in the love of
Rasoolullah ; we have all been summoned to the Plains of Reckoning, so
let’s all go there eagerly, for it is the day when our Beloved Nabi will be
before our eyes. No matter what difficulties we face on that day, the one
and the most beautiful part of that day will be when we see the beauty and
the radiance of our Beloved Nabi , whom we have been waiting
restlessly and eagerly to see.
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ says in eagerness and love for Nabi that day is
the day we were informed about; it is the day when our Beloved Nabi
will be before our eyes. It is a day of difficulty, but when we see our Beloved
Nabi , all our sorrows and grief will fade away, as we absorb ourselves in
admiring His beauty and radiance. That will be ‘The Day’ when our Nabi
will be on the Most Radiant Mimbar (Pulpit).
It is in the Sahih of Ibn Hib’baan that the Beloved Nabi said, ‘On the Day
of Qiyaamat, every Nabi will have a Mimbar (Pulpit) of Noor (Light), and I
will be on the Highest and Brightest Pulpit.’
In a couplet which follows this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ refers to this
day and moment when we get to see our Nabi as ‘Eid e Aashiqaa(n)’, in
other words, the day of Eid (Rejoicing and Joy) for the Aashiqaan e Mustafa
. Subhaan’Allah! Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ has given us
such a beautiful glimpse into that day, that it has increased our eagerness
to be present on the Plains of Reckoning, waiting eagerly to see the most
Beautiful and Radiant Face of our Beloved Nabi .

It is our duty to spread the love of Allah and His Rasool and to warn the
true Believers against the deviants who try to divert them from the true
Love of Almighty Allah and His Beloved Nabi .

In a time when many were silent, and the station of The Beloved Rasool
was targeted by the deviants and the apostates, and when the wahabis,
najdis, deobandis and the likes were writing and uttering blasphemy in the
Court of Nabi Kareem , Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza ؓ◌ stood
up for the truth and broke this silence. He spoke openly against the bud-
mazhabs (deviants/heretics) who on the one hand claimed to be Muslims,
but on the contrary committed blasphemy in the Court of the Beloved Nabi
.
This couplet also seems to show this critical part of the life of Sayyidi Aala
Hazrat ؓ◌ as he addresses himself and encourages himself and those with
him to stand for what is Haq (righteousness) in a time of deafening silence.
This was also the sign of him being the Mujad’did (Reformer and Reviver)
as it is the duty of the reformer to stand up against falsehood and to
encourage the believers to publicise and announce the truth when it is
most needed.
Hence, even today this couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ stands as a call to
the believers to stand up for what is Haq, even if all others are silent, for
this was the way of our pious predecessors and the way of Imam ul Awliyah
Sarkaar e Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌, and the manner of Sultan ul Hind Hazrat
Khwaja e Paak ؓ◌ and all the Grand Masha’ikh.
Let us all rise from our slumber and put an end to the silence, by following
Maslak e Aala Hazrat sincerely. Let us do so in the shade of the blessings of
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ and all the Awliyah Allah.

It will be a tough time when none will care for the next. Parents will not
recognise their children, and even children will not recognise their
parents. Each one will be concerned about saving himself.
Huzoor Sadrush Shariah Alaihir Rahma says, ‘On the Day of Reckoning, the
earth will be made of copper, and the sun will be only one mile above our
heads.
The narrator of the Hadith states, ‘It is not known whether one mile, in this
case refers to the applicator used to apply surmah (collyrium) or the
standard distance of a mile.’

Even if it refers to a mile, the intensity of the sun’s heat on that day is
evident.
Presently, it is said that the sun is at a distance of about 4000 years from
the earth with its rear facing us, whereas on the day of reckoning it will be
a mile above our heads and facing us directly.
We all know what the intensity of the sun’s heat feels like when the sun is
at its peak on a regular summer’s day.
Presently, the ground is made of sand, and we have shoes, etc. to wear. On
the day of reckoning, the ground will be made of copper and we will be
standing upon it barefoot.
There is none that can actually understand the intensity of the heat at that
critical hour!
In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ is explaining that
on this day of immense difficulty people will go out in search of a helper,
an intercessor and a saviour from the punishment and the wrath of Allah.

The people will go from Hazrat Adam Alaihis Salaam right up to Hazrat Esa
Alaihis Salaam, but all will ask them to go elsewhere as they have never
seen the Wrath of Allah like this before.
Qadi Sadrush Shariah Alaihir Rahma says, the people will go around in
circles, weeping, lamenting, begging helplessly, and looking for the
Beloved Rasool until finally, they find him.
On seeing him, they will say, O Muhammad ! Almighty Allah has blessed
you with the power to open the doors of intercession. You are the only one
who is completely at peace today.
They will praise the Beloved Nabi in the best manner possible and beg
his assistance. The Beloved Nabi will answer by saying,
It is He who will open the doors of intercession, and only then will the
other Ambia e Kiraam Alaihimus Salaam be allowed to intercede for their
nations. Our Beloved Nabi will be the only True Saviour on the Day of
Reckoning.

We should always ask through the mediation (Wasila) of our Beloved Nabi
, for even in the hereafter, in the most difficult time, the only True
Wasila, Saviour and Intercessor will be our Nabi Muhammad .

This couplet explains the foundation of the love for Allah and His Beloved
Rasool .
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ explains that we need to be firm and hard upon the
enemies of Nabi Kareem and not show any gentleness or compromising
policy when it comes to them.
This primarily refers to the deviants and heretics. We should not pray
Salaah behind them or spend time in their company, or make them
arbitrators and representatives or partners in matters of Deen.

Today, we find people looking for every excuse in the book to forge unity
with bud-mazhabs (deviants / heretics), and they then try to attribute this
so-called unity to the need of time, and due to political and governmental
reasons. Yet, this makes no sense as they also sit with them and make joint
decisions in matters of Deen.
They do such things and then sadly say that we are on the ‘way of Aala
Hazrat.’ This couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ is proof
of the firm stance of Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ against the deviants.
All his life Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ preached and wrote against unity and
friendship or association with deviants and with those who are lenient
towards them.
He firmly advises in this couplet that we should be hard and firm against
the deviants and that we should not give the slightest upper-hand or ‘the
time of day’ to them.
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ teaches us to never give the
slightest regard to the deviants.
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ kept this firm and strict policy to
protect the Imaan of the Muslims from the deviants.
He knew that if we keep away from them, then there will be no association,
and when there will be no association, then there will be no leniency
towards them.

Thus, when there will be no leniency, there will be no unity with them,
and when there is no unity with them, then we will not make them partners
in any of our Deeni matters.
Thus our Imaan and Aqida will be safe and the Imaan of our future
generations will be safe from these wolves in sheep skin.
This is why he taught us the way of the pious predecessors, which was to
keep the door of fitna and deviance shut.
In others words, association and unity with deviants should never cross our
minds.
This will cause the Muslims to become lenient towards the deviants who
will soon plunge them into fitna.
By writing this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is
teaching us to keep a non-association, non-unity policy with deviants.
In simple terms, if you want your valuables safe, do not invite a thief into
your home, or have him as a partner in your transactions.
The one who knowingly brings a thief as a partner into his transactions is
indeed foolish, and has harmed himself by his foolishness.

Thus, even more foolish are those who think that unity with deviants will
benefit them in issues of Deen.
Keep in our hearts and minds this couplet of Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat
ؓ◌, as it serves as a deterrent and a caution against the heretics.

They say that we should say ‘Ya Allah’ only and not ‘Ya Rasool’Allah’ .
According to them when we say Ya Rasool’Allah we are calling out to
Nabi Kareem , and they say that to call out to other than Allah is not
allowed, as it is associating partners with Allah. This is their ignorance and
lack of knowledge.

and He is Alive by Allah’s Grace. Whatever our Nabi can do is indeed
by the Grace of Allah.
Those who have love for Nabi Kareem will have no problem or difficulty
in believing the above about that Nabi :

After knowing all of this, can a person who claims to be a Muslim still refer
to our Beloved Nabi as:
Such people who say ‘Do not say Ya Rasool’Allah ,’ do so because they
believe the above about our Nabi . Shame on them for calling
themselves Muslims and for claiming to love Nabi Muhammad .
According to the words of the great Muhad’dith Allama Imam Mulla Ali
Qaari ؓ◌ it is evident that just as the Ambia Alaihimus Salaam were alive in
this world, they are alive in the hereafter, and like they were aware of our
condition in this world, they know after journeying into the next abode.

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Ash Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is giving us the
best and most powerful formula and blueprint for success in our worldly
lives. We must first understand that we are here in this world to go through
a very important test. This world to us (without comparison) is like a
massive exam to a student. We have to live in this world following the rules
and the regulations which have been set out for us, and our lives are
controlled and governed by these rules and regulations. However, these
rules and regulations are not man-made, but have been set out for us by
our Creator Almighty Allah, and to pass us into either Paradise or Hell,
Almighty Allah has sent towards us two very important guides, one being
the Holy Qur’an and the other being His Beloved Rasool . If we follow
the guidelines presented to us by the Holy Qur’an and by our Beloved
Rasool , we have met the criteria for admission into Jannah, and if we

deviate from this, then we have failed to meet this criterion. To achieve
this standard we must secure a fruitful and blessed departure from this
world, into the hereafter, so that we may finally be allowed admission into
Paradise. Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ advises us
concerning the best and most powerful formula for our successful exit
from this world, and for our forthcoming journey towards Paradise. He
explains that if you want success, then realise that success means a
successful exit from the world, whenever the appointed time for your
departure comes. However, he is saying that to fulfil the criteria, you have
to understand the formula, and here the formula is to recognise and realise
the greatness of Nabi Kareem and to believe in Him truly and to
accept with your heart the excellence and honour which Allah Almighty
has bestowed upon Him . He is saying, let your entire life revolve around
Nabi Muhammad . Love him more than anyone or anything in the
universe; make Nabi the most important part of your life and stay away
from all those people and things which are foreign to His love and His
honour. In other words, keep away from the deviants, heretics and all
those things which are the cause of distancing you from His love, and
all those people and things which hinder you in His love. Learn to love
Nabi Kareem truly, and honestly believe in Him as you should, and
you will find that you will have a successful exit from this world, for then
you will surely depart as a Muslim. To please Nabi and to believe in Him
is to love, and to believe in Almighty Allah, and in all His Commands;
for the Greatest Representative of Allah towards the world is Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah . Hence, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam of the Ahle Sunnah ؓ◌
says, if you do this, then you can say that I am departing from this world as
a Muslim.

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ is telling us that
it is our Aqida that the Beloved Nabi is the King of the Universe as
appointed by Almighty Allah.
Almighty Allah has appointed Him as the Sovereign Ruler over all the
rest of the creation. Our Nabi himself spoke about His Kingdom
which Almighty Allah has bestowed upon him, by telling us about his
Ministers on the earth and in the skies.
The Beloved Nabi said, ‘I have four ministers. Two in the skies, and two
on the earth. My two ministers in the sky are Jibra’eel (Alaihis Salaam) and
Mika’eel (Alaihis Salaam), and my two ministers on the earth are, Abu Bakr
ؓ◌ and Umar ؓ◌.’ [Mishkaat Shareef]

Subhaan’Allah! By Nabi Kareem mentioning His Ministers in the
skies and on the earth, it proves that He is informing us about his Rule
and Kingship, for only a King and Ruler has ministers. Also, Nabi Kareem
mentioning His Ministers in the skies and on the earth, further
proves that the Kingship and control of our Beloved Nabi is in the skies
and on the earth, and over all the creation of Almighty Allah. It further
shows the excellence of Hazrat Jibra’eel and Hazrat Mika’eel (Alaihimas
Salaam) over all the other Angels, and the excellence of Hazrat Abu Bakr
and Hazrat Umar ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﻤﺎ over all the other people (excluding the Ambia
Alaihimus Salaam). Subhaan’Allah! In just two words, ‘Sultan e Jahaa(n)’
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza ؓ◌ has gathered the entire
annotation of this beautiful Hadith of Nabi Kareem into this couplet.
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ then goes further to mention that we are needy and
destitute in the presence of our Nabi , and we are nothing without him.
In doing so, he is begging like a destitute person, before the King of Kings
Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa , by saying that when the Beloved Nabi
Kareem distributes His special Prophet Blessings, then He should
remember us at this moment as well. Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has no doubt
in the fact that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah will bless us from His
Prophetic Blessings, but he still presents the plea and request as this is the
manner of a servant before his Master. This is the love and humility of
Imam Ahle Sunnat in the Exalted Court of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . We
should make this beautiful couplet part of our litanies, by asking
Rasoolullah to bless us with His Special Blessings.

He has written it against those who label and brand the Muslims as
‘mushrik’ and ‘bid’ati’ (polytheists and innovators), because of the special
love and honour that they show for the Beloved Rasool .
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ says that we should indeed curse such an evil way
and such evil, malicious movements, wherein to do things in honour of
Rasoolullah are regarded as ‘Shirk’ (Polytheism).
Today, there are those who claim to be ‘Ahle Sunnah’, but they want to
unite and take the support of such evil movements and sects who regard

the vast majority of the Muslims in the world as ‘mushriks’. Shame on such
people, and such organisation, that are comfortable with having these
deviants as partners in their Deeni issues.
Today we have those who claim to follow ‘Maslak e Aala Hazrat’, but they
say to the Muslims, ‘Do not waste your time speaking against the deviants.
Just learn our way and educate our public about Sunniyat. There is no need
to waste time refuting such people and speaking against them in our
lectures’ I ask such people,
• Did Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ not know this when he said, ‘Us buray
mazhab pe laa’nat ki jiye?’
• Did Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ not know this when he said, ‘dushman e
Ahmad pe shid-dat ki jiye?’
• Did Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ not know this when he wrote volumes
refuting the deviants?
We will follow what our Imam Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has taught us, and we
will address them as he has taught us to address them, as it is what they are
deserving of, for their disloyalty and blasphemy in the Court of Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah .

Instead of uniting with such miscreants, we should follow in the way of
Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌.
It is amazing that some claim to follow Maslak e Aala Hazrat, but are taking
a soft approach to such serious matters.
Do they not realise that if they stop the refutation of deviants, the Muslims
will not recognise the evil schemes of these bud-mazhabs and be plunged
into fitna?
Do they not realise that soon the unsuspecting Ahle Sunnah will think that
it is fine to sit with deviants and to marry them and to have friendship with
them, because they will not be able to recognise their camouflaged ways
any longer?
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ says curse them, this is so that the people may
realise that they are evil and dangerous to our Deen and Imaan. This is why
the Ulama e Haq mention the names of these deviants in their discourses
and address them with words of curse. They do this so that the Muslims
should know how evil they are, and so that they may become aware of their
fitna.
If we stop refuting the deviants, we will end up with more of the modern
day terrorism which the entire world is battling today. Go back in history
and look at who were the founding fathers of these deviant ways, who were
the ones that made the blood of the people Halaal? Who were the people
who first started the destruction of the graves of the Sahaba e Kiraam and

the other pious servants of Allah? Who were the people who started the
execution of innocent Muslims in the name of fighting ‘shirk?’
These deviants write, ‘If I get the power to do so, I will demolish the Rauda
of Rasoolullah ().’
Allah Forbid! Why did they write this? They wrote this because their leader
Abdul Wahab regarded visiting the Rauda e Mubaarak as an act of ‘shirk.’
He writes in his ‘Kitaabut Tauheed’:
Astaghfirullah! Look at what their leader says about visiting the Rauda e
Rasool , and he compares all these blessed actions to visiting places of
idol worship. Na’oodhubillah!
May such people and their followers and their ways be cursed countless
times, for they have labelled and branded the acts of respect for Nabi
and all the Ambia Alaihimus Salaam as polytheism. Aameen.

There is no doubt that our Beloved Nabi is Rahmah (Mercy), and indeed
He is Mercy unto the worlds. Here Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is mentioning
the excellence of our Beloved Nabi and pointing out the greatness of
His Mercy. In other words, the River of Kauthar and the Fountain of
Salsabeel are both such great bounties of Almighty Allah to the believers,
but Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is saying, these are such great blessings, yet they
are only two drops from the vast shoreless seas of the Mercy of our Beloved
Nabi . What Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is saying, is that these are indeed
great blessings which Almighty Allah bestowed upon Nabi , but they are
only two drops from the endless blessings which Allah has bestowed to Him
.
To better understand this, let us first take a glimpse into the greatness of
Kauthar and Salsabeel.

Kauthar: Kauthar is the River of Jannat. The length and breadth of which
is equal to the distance covered during one month’s journey. On its banks
are exquisite dome-shaped structures made from pearls. Its four ends are
equal, in other words, all equal right angles. Its sand is fragrant with musk;
its water is whiter than milk, sweeter than honey and purer than musk.
Once you take a sip of Kauthar, you will never be thirsty again. Goblets are
floating on Kauthar, which are more than the number of stars in the sky.

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is saying that, can you imagine when these two great
Jannati blessings are just two drops from the ocean of our Beloved Nabi’s
Mercy, then what can be said about that entire sea of Mercy, who is
known as Rahmatulil Aalameen Sayyiduna Muhammad Mustafa .

There is no doubt that without a mediation (Wasila) one can never reach
special closeness in the Court of Almighty Allah.
Our Salaah and our virtuous deeds are a mediation and means of attaining
closeness to Almighty Allah, but the greatest and most accepted Wasila
(mediation) is The Beloved Rasool . Almighty Allah says in the Qur’an
Azeem;

“O you who Believe, Fear Allah and seek a means (Wasila) towards Him and
strive (make jihad) in His way, in hope of attaining salvation”. [Surah
Maa’idah, Verse 35]
Have they forgotten or are they ignorant of the fact that even Sayyiduna
Adam Alaihis Salaam used the Wasila of Nabi Kareem to please
Almighty Allah!
In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is addressing the Najdis and all those
deviants who reject our Nabi as a Wasila. At the same time, he is
warning us about the deviants and also telling us that those who go around
denying the Wasila of Nabi Kareem , can never attain any closeness to
Almighty Allah. We ask, why are the people wasting their time and
damaging their Imaan by keeping closeness and association with such
cursed ones? Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is also teaching us to follow the way of
the Qur’an. Almighty Allah says in the Holy Qur’an:

‘And when they commit injustice unto their souls, then O Beloved, they
should present themselves before you and then seek forgiveness from
Allah, and (if) the Rasool should intercede on their behalf, then definitely
they shall find Allah Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate.’ [Surah An-Nisa
(4), Verse 64]
On this, a voice was heard from the Rauda-e-Anwar which said, ‘You have
been forgiven.’ [Jazb ul Quloob]
‘(Ya Rasool’Allah ) You are the Blessed One whom Hazrat Adam Alaihis
Salaam used as his Wasila and was thus successful in having his Dua
accepted, whereas He (Alaihis Salaam ) is your forefather.’
Hazrat Uthman bin Hunaif ؓ◌ says that a blind man presented himself in the
court of the Nabi and said, “O Messenger of Allah! Pray for me that I may
regain my sight” Nabi said, “Perform ablution and read two Raka’ats of
Nafil Namaaz and read this Dua:

I have taken His Blessed Name, and whenever I have remembered Him
, all my difficulties faded away, and all calamities were alleviated. By
saying this, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is announcing his Aqida and the Aqida
of the entire Ahle Sunnah. He is announcing that we call out to the Beloved
Nabi and seek His assistance and ask for Him to bless us and
remove our calamities and intercede for us, so that we may be entered into
Jannat, for this authority and excellence has been bestowed upon Him
by Almighty Allah.

The narration about Hazrat Rabee’a bin Ka’ab Al Aslami ؓ◌ is very well
known. Explaining that narration Hazrat Shaykh Muhaq’qiq Shaykh Abdul
Haq Muhad’dith Delhvi ؓ◌ states:
A Muslim will have no problem with accepting that Almighty Allah has
afforded the Beloved Nabi with this greatness and excellence. When
one loves Nabi Kareem , and accepts Him and accepts His
excellence from the depths of his or her heart, then one will never doubt
that Rasoolullah is our Helper and our Guide, by the Grace of Almighty
Allah. We refer to our Nabi as our Beloved , for He is the most
Beloved of Allah.

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is addressing the deviants and those
who are caught in their web of deceit.
He is telling them, that if they wish to be forgiven and if they want to enter
the gardens of bliss and salvation, then they should take the protection of
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah today, and they should seek His help.
Here ‘Today’ refers to this world. In other words, he is warning them that
if they wish to gain salvation and wish to be regarded as Muslims and leave
this world with Imaan, then they must take the refuge of Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah in this world, and they should seek His help and
blessings in this world, and only then can they receive blessings in the
hereafter.

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ is warning them, that you have
to believe in Sayyiduna Rasoolullah as Allah commanded us to believe
in Him , and not as we wish to.
He is saying that the point of refuge in this world and the distribution point
for the Blessings of Allah, is Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
‘We worship only You and from You only do we seek help’
They use this to try and mislead the believers by misinterpreting it to mean
it is forbidden to seek the help of Rasoolullah or the Beloveds of Allah
and His Rasool .
They take some verses and then ignore other verses of the Holy Qur’an.
Almighty Allah says,
‘Then undoubtedly, Allah is his helper and Jibra’eel and (all) the pious
believers, and after this, even the Angels will support him.’ [Surah At-
Tahreem (66), Verse 4]

Concerning this verse the great Mufas’sir of the Qur’an Allama Sayed
Mahmud Al Aalusi Al Baghdadi Al Hanafi ؓ◌ the author of the renowned
Tafseer Ruh Al Ma’ani, who’s blessed Mazaar is adjacent to the Maqaam of
Sayyiduna Imam Ma’ruf Al Karkhi ؓ◌ states,
‘The word Maula in this verse means Nassir which means helper.’
‘Your helpers are Almighty Allah and His Rasool and those Muslims who
perform Salaah and give alms and make Ruku.’ [Surah Al Maa’idah (5), Verse
55]
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ is announcing that if we seek refuge
in the Mercy of Rasoolullah and seek His help, then indeed we will be
successful in the hereafter.
Those who reject this, should be warned that believing is in this world,
because on the Day of Reckoning, all will see the excellence and the exalted
status afforded to Sayyiduna Rasoolullah when He stands on Maqaam

e Mahmud under the Banner of Praise, when all the people from the
beginning up to the end will be chanting his praises.
Thus, to believe then will not be accepted, for the time to accept and believe
is in this world, as here we are to believe without seeing, and there all will be
able to see the excellence of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
Therefore, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is warning the deviants to mend their ways
and follow the path of righteousness by becoming true servants of Allah by
believing in the Beloved Nabi as we have been commanded.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ states, for many days, I had not had anything to
eat. My condition became very feeble, and I felt a sense of obscurity in my
vision. I could not even go to anyone and beg for any assistance, as the

Beloved Rasool had forbidden us from begging. Finally, an idea
(justification) came to my mind. I decided to stand on the corner of the
street, with this thought in mind, that if someone passes by and sees my
distressed face and witnesses the weakness on my face, he will enquire
about my condition. I will thus inform him that I had not eaten for many
days, so he will immediately take me by the hand and direct me to his
home, where he will feed me. In this way, I will not be begging, and my
need will also be fulfilled. He further says, I walked out and stood at the
corner of the street. The very first person to pass by me was Hazrat Abu
Bakr Siddique ؓ◌. I took a step forward and greeted him by saying, As-
salaamu Alaikum wa-Rahmatullahi wa-Barakaatuhu. He kept his gaze
lowered and said, wa-Alaikumus Salaam. I then took another step forward
and asked regarding a verse of the Qur’an.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ said, I knew that verse very well, but I asked so that
while answering my query he would have looked up at my distressed face
and he would have sensed my difficulty, and in this way, the arrangement
for my meal would be fulfilled, and I would be protected from begging.
However, he passed by as if in deep meditation. He kept his gaze lowered,
explained the meaning of the verse and then walked away. I immediately
felt a sense of anxiety. (I thought) O, Allah! The intention with which I have
come here at the corner of the street has not been successful. Hazrat Abu
Hurairah ؓ◌ says, just then I saw Hazrat Umar-e-Farooq ؓ◌ walking-by. I
stepped forward and said, As-salaamu Alaikum. He too kept his gaze
lowered and said, Wa-Alaikumus Salaam. I thought that I should also ask
him about the same verse, so that he may be able to see my face. When I
queried from him about the said verse, he too explained it to me with his

gaze lowered, and then left, so I became even more anxious, thinking that
even here my intention has not been successful.
At that moment, I noticed the Mercy unto the worlds, the Intercessor unto
the sinful, the comfort to troubled hearts coming in my direction. On
seeing the Beloved Rasool , I became hopeful. I respectfully said, As-
Salaamu Alaikum Ya Rasool’Allah ! Rasool-e-Paak raised his blessed
eyes and said, ‘Wa-Alaikumus Salaam, O Abu Hurairah, why is your face so
pale?’
In the manner in which Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ explains his plight, the
Beloved Rasool holds his hand and takes him to his blessed residence
with the same compassion. The Beloved Rasool goes into the house of
Hazrat A’isha Ummul Mo’mineen ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎand says, ‘Do you have anything to
eat in the house?’
Hazrat A’isha ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎ replies, ‘We have not lit the stove for more than a
month or two at home, how then will there be anything to eat, but Ya
Rasool’Allah ! Just a little while ago an Ansari sent a bowl of milk.’ My
Master says, ‘That is sufficient.’
The Beloved Rasool took the milk in His Blessed Hand and walked
with it towards Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌. On seeing this, he began to glow
with happiness, but then my Beloved Master said, ‘Go and summon all
the Ashaab-us-Suffa, so that they may also partake in this invitation.’
Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ says that when he heard this, he became anxious
(again), as to what will happen now? Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ did not know

how many people were present there and could not understand how his
need would be fulfilled if all of them came over. He says that he could not
do otherwise and thus fulfilled the command of Rasoolullah by
summoning the Ashaab-e-Suffa. He mentions that after summoning them,
he became even more concerned as to what would happen if he was asked
to feed those who arrived? The reason he thought of this was that the
Beloved Rasool has said, ‘The one, who has the duty of feeding the
people, should be the last one to drink.’ [Tirmizi]
Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ mentions that because of this, he tried very hard
to conceal himself from the blessed physical sight of the Beloved Rasool
, but then, the Beloved Rasool called out his name and asked him to
get all those who arrived to be seated in a row. He then commanded Hazrat
Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ to pass the milk over to each one of the Ashaab-us-Suffa.
Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ says that he passed the milk to each one of them
until every single one of them had drank a full stomach from the very same
bowl of milk. Once all of them were done, Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ held the
bowl in his hand and wished to pass it over to the Beloved Rasool . He
says that on the one hand he wanted to pass it over to the Beloved Rasool
and on the other hand his thirst and hunger was overcoming him.
There was a war (of feelings) taking place within him. His hunger was
saying that he should drink it first and his Imaan (and love) was saying that
he should pass it over to the Beloved Rasool . In this battle within him,
his Imaan overpowered his hunger, and he handed the bowl of milk to the
Beloved Rasool , which was now still as full as it was when he initially
took it in his hands. He says, ‘Nabi smiled at me and passed the bowl
back to me and said, ‘O Abu Hurairah! You drink (first), so I drank.’

He (Abu Hurairah ؓ◌) drank and then passed it over to the Beloved Rasool
. The Beloved Rasool commanded him to drink more. Again he drank
and then passed it to the Beloved Rasool , and the Beloved Rasool
commanded him to drink even more.
He said, drink more! You have been waiting for a long time. You have been
hungry for many days. Again he passed it towards the Beloved Rasool ,
and the Beloved Rasool asked him to drink more, and he did so and then
passed it on again, and the Beloved Rasool yet again asked him to drink
more. He says, ‘The Beloved Rasool did not take the bowl from my hand,
until I said that now I cannot drink anymore. I do not even have space for
one single drop.’ Only then did the Beloved Rasool drink. [Bukhari]

• Sayyiduna Rasoolullah is the Distributor of the Blessings from
the Court of Allah
• Hazrat Abu Bakr and Hazrat Umar ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﻤﺎ knew the condition of
Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌ but passed by because they knew that Nabi
Kareem would soon bless him with a greater blessing
There is no doubt that our Nabi is the Distributor of Blessings, and there
is no question that when He touched the bowl of milk and said that it
was sufficient, He knew that it would feed the seventy Ashaab-us-Suffa,
as well as quench the thirst and the hunger of Hazrat Abu Hurairah ؓ◌.
My Imaan says that leave alone seventy Ashaab-us-Suffa and Hazrat Abu
Hurairah ؓ◌. If my Nabi so wished, then that single bowl of Milk would
suffice for the entire Ummah until Qiyaamat.

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ is asking those
who are heedless and oblivious of reality, to reflect on their lives, and in
doing so, he is reminding them of their sad state.
There are two general interpretations of this couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌. One interpretation is that those who are heedless and oblivious of the
excellence of the Blessed Court of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah are being
reminded that this is such a great and Blessed Court, that daily Angels
present themselves at the Sacred Court to convey their Salutations to the
Beloved Rasool , and the example of five going and four returning,
means that the Sacred Court of Nabi is never empty of Angels.

If there are five Angels conveying their Salaams, then four return, while
the fifth remains, again more Angels descend. In other words, this is being
given as an example to understand the continuous flow of Angels at the
Sacred Court of Rasoolullah .
Hazrat Ka’ab Al Ahbar ؓ◌ reports that ‘A single day does not pass without
seventy thousand Angels descending over the sacred Grave of Rasoolullah
, encircling and sending Salaams upon Him, until evening. When they
return, another group of Angels descend, taking their place, doing the
same; (and this will continue) until Nabi rises from His Holy Grave
surrounded by Seventy Thousand Angels.’ [Baihaqi, Hilya]
Based on this interpretation of this couplet, it would mean that Imam Ahle
Sunnat ؓ◌ is reminding us of the excellence of visiting the Rauda e
Mubaarak and he is asking us to realise how fortunate we are to be there,
in the shadow of the Angels.
In other words, if there are only four people available to carry the Janaazah,
the four plus the Janaazah make five, but when all is done, then only four
return, for the fifth, who is the deceased is left alone in his grave.

Here Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza ؓ◌ is reminding us to snap out
of our oblivion, and realise that one day you will be ‘the fifth.’
In other words, a huge crowd of people or at least four people will carry us
to our grave, but those who carry us to our grave will return, while we are
left alone in our graves to face the Angels of the grave; to answer the
questions of the grave. Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is asking us to remember our
final resting place, and for us to realise that soon we will leave behind all
the luxuries of this world, and we too will rest on the same sand of the
cemetery.
He is reminding us to rise from our sleep of oblivion and to change our lives
and think of our death and our graves, as the remembrance of our graves
and the thought of death, is a means to allow us to reflect on our lives and
our sad state of affairs.
Some pious personalities have mentioned that the one, who remembers
death frequently, will be awarded three things:
Hazrat Ka’ab ؓ◌ reported, ‘For the one who recognises death, the hardships
and sorrows of the world become easy upon him.’

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Ash Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is
mentioning the special excellence which has been bestowed upon
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . He is mentioning that the unique excellence
which has been bestowed upon Sayyiduna Rasoolullah is unique in
every way.

In other words, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is reminding us that the Holy Qur’an
is the ‘Divine Word of Allah’, so when it is said that the Holy Qur’an takes
an Oath by the Blessed City, the Blessed Words, and the Blessed Life of
Sayyiduna Wa Maulana Muhammad , it actually means that Allah
Almighty is taking an Oath by the Blessed City, the Blessed Words, and the
Blessed Life of Nabi Kareem .
In taking the Qasm (Oath) of the Blessed City of Nabi Kareem , Almighty
Allah says in the Holy Qur’an:
ْ ٌۢ ْ
ٰ ۡ ٰ ْ ۤ
﴾ۙ ۲﴿
ﻞ ﺑﻬ ﺬا اﻟﺒ ﺣ
ﺖ ۙ﴾ و اﻧ۱﴿
ﻻ اﻗ ﺴﻢ ﺑﻬ ﺬا اﻟﺒ
‘I take an Oath by this City. For (O My Beloved)! You are present in this
city.’ [Surah Al-Balad (90), Verses 1-2]
Concerning the verse, ‘For (O My Beloved)! You are present in this city’,
Sadrul Afaadil Alaihir Rahma states, ‘From this verse we learn that this
honour which has been afforded to Makkah Mukarramah is because of
Sayyid e Aalam gracing Makkah.’ [Khaza’in]

In taking the Qasm (Oath) of the Blessed Words of Nabi Kareem ,
Almighty Allah says in the Holy Qur’an:

﴾۸۸ۘ ﴿ ﻫ ﺆ ﻻ ء ﻗﻮم ﻻ ﻳﺆ ﻣ ﻨﻮن ٖ و ﻗ ۡﻴ
An Oath by this statement of the Rasool:
‘O my Rub, These people do not want to Believe.’
[Surah Al Zukhruf (43), Verses 88]
Sadrul Afaadil Alaihir Rahma says that here the one being referred to is
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
In taking the Qasm (Oath) of the Blessed life of Nabi Kareem , Almighty
Allah says in the Holy Qur’an:

﴾۷۲﴿ ﻳﻌ ﻤ ﻬ ۡﻮن/ ْ ﻟﻌ ْﻤﺮك اﻧ
ۡ ﻟ ﻔ/

‘(O Beloved, I take an Oath) By your life! Undoubtedly, they are astray in
their debauchery.’ [Surah Al Hajr (15), Verses 72]

Concerning this verse Sadrul Afaadil Alaihir Rahma says,
‘And from amongst Allah’s creation, no life is more honoured and sacred
than His Blessed Life, and except the life of Sayyid e Aalam ,
Almighty Allah has not taken an Oath by the age or life of anyone else. This
excellence is uniquely bestowed upon Huzoor .’
Subhaan’Allah! Look at how Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat Imam
Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ has presented a Tafseer (commentary) to all these
verses of the Holy Qur’an in one beautiful couplet.

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is saying
that why should we not be sacrificed upon you Ya Rasool’Allah , for no
matter whatever hardships or difficulties we face, when we remember you,
all our sorrows and hardships fade away.
In other words, when we face any hardship, and when we call out to you by
saying, ‘Ya Rasool’Allah Assist us’, then by the Grace of Almighty Allah
all our hardships and difficulties are alleviated for when we remember you,
and the Mercy of Allah descends upon us in abundance, and we are blessed
with your assistance.

because O’ Beloved Nabi , you love your Ummah so dearly, that you
cannot bear to see us in unnecessary pain and difficulty.
About being aware of our condition at all times, Hazrat Shah Abdul Aziz
Muhad’dith Delhvi Alaihir Rahma states:
‘By the power of Noor-e-Nubuw’wah, the Beloved Rasool is aware and well
informed of the condition and status of every follower. He knows of the point
which that person has reached in his Deen and is aware of the status of his
Imaan. (He is aware) Due to which evil it is that he is deprived of (spiritual)
elevation. Thus He is aware of our sins, intentions and hypocritical
schemes. This is why according to the Shariat, His testimony about the
Ummah in this world and the hereafter will certainly be accepted.’ [Tafseer-
e-Azeezi]
Now, let us examine this couplet a bit deeper, with the eyes of love for Nabi
Kareem , and we will also find a secret message within this couplet.
Observe carefully, and we will realise the secret, yet very clear message.

Firstly, let me ask, which is one of the most beautiful ways to remember
Rasoolullah ? Both you and I know the answer to this. It is by reciting
Durood Shareef upon Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
If we look at this couplet from this perspective, we will realise that Sayyidi
Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is telling us,
Now, here I have understood through the Blessings of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌ that he is saying to us, ‘when we remember him’ actually means, ‘when
we send Durood upon Him .’ Subhaan’Allah!
There is no doubt that no matter how sad or how severe a difficulty we may
be facing, but when we sit down sincerely, close our eyes and bow our
hearts towards the Court of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , visualising the
Sacred Green Dome and His Blessed Rauda e Anwar, and then send
Durood and Salaams upon Him , then all our grief and our sadness starts
to fade away. The message of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Radi Allahu which is
hidden yet apparent in this couplet is so pure and blessed.
It can also be understood from this couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ that
not only do the living benefit when Sayyiduna Rasoolullah is
remembered but also the deceased benefit and they are removed from the
sadness, grief, difficulties and punishment which they are facing in their
graves.

A beautiful incident relating to this is mentioned in Tafseer Roohul Bayaan
of Allama Isma’eel Haqqi ؓ◌. It is mentioned that a lady dreamt of her son
after his death. She saw that he was facing the torment of the grave. She
was deeply depressed after seeing his condition. After this, again she
dreamt of her son, but this time he was enveloped by Noor and Mercy. She
asked the reason for the sudden change in his condition. The young man
said, a person passed by the cemetery, who recited Durood Shareef upon
Rasoolullah and then sent the reward of this recitation to the dwellers
of this cemetery. I have also been given a share in this blessing, which is
what you are witnessing.

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Khan ؓ◌ is motivating the
Hajis (and all those who go to Makkah Mukarramah). It is as if Sayyidi Aala
Hazrat ؓ◌ is saying to all the Hajis, come and take a look at the Rauza e
Rasool ! Come and share in what I have experienced when I looked with
love at the Rauza e Anwar of the Beloved Rasool . On the one hand, it
seems that Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is inviting the Aashiqaan e Mustafa
to share in his blessed and brilliant experience at the Court of the Beloved
Rasool , while at the same time, he is presenting Na’at in the Court of
The Beloved Rasool , by saying ‘Kaa’be Ka Kaa’ba Dekho.’
In other words, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Azeem ul Barkat ؓ◌ is saying, I too saw
the Mercy and the Blessings of Allah descending over the Kaa’ba and I too
observed the great excellence around the Holy Kaa’ba, for it is the Qibla
and the Kaa’ba of the Believers, and the Sacred House of Allah.

It then seems as if after passing this message in the words, Kaa’ba to Dekh
Chuke’, he says, now come to Madina Shareef, to the Court of the Most
Beloved of Allah , who is the Kaa’ba of the Kaa’ba. Come here and see
the Special Mercy which Allah is showering upon His Habeeb , come
here and look at the uniqueness of the Greatest Court in the Universe, the
Court of Nabi Kareem . The spiritual ecstasy and excitement of Ishq e
Rasool can be felt in these words of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌.
There are those deviants who say that when visiting Madina Shareef we
must make Niyyat of Masjid un Nabawi, but Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ and the
Great Ulama have said that when visiting Madina Shareef make special
intention for visiting the Beloved Rasool .

Now let me ask a question. What is the Kaa’ba? The Kaa’ba is ‘The House of
Allah’ and the direction (i.e. The Qibla) towards which the Believers face
when worshipping Almighty Allah. How did the Kaa’ba become the Qibla?
This is what is most important to understand.
It is well-known that Baytul Maqdis was the original Qibla, and the Beloved
Rasool used to face the direction of Baytul Maqdis when performing
Salaah in the beginning.
BﻬﺎD ﺿ ٰ ﺗ ْﺮG ً ﻓﻠﻨﻮ ﻟﻴﻨﻚ ﻗ ْﺒ:ﺟﻬﻚ ﰲ اﻟﺴﻤﺂ ء ْ ﻗ ْﺪ ﻧ ٰﺮي ﺗﻘﻠﺐ و
ۡ ۡ وﺣKام ْ ْ ﺟﻬﻚ ﺷ ْﻄﺮ اﻟْﻤ ْ ﻓﻮل و
ﻛﻨﺘ ْﻢ ﻓﻮﻟ ۡﻮا ﺎﻣ ﺚ

‘We are seeing you time and over turning your face towards the sky, so
surely We will turn you towards that Qibla (Direction), with which you are
pleased. So immediately turn your face towards the Masjid Al Haraam, and
O Muslims! Wherever you may be, you (too) turn your faces towards it; And
(as) for those who received The Book, they surely know well, that this
(command) is the truth from their Rub; And Allah is not unaware of their
actions (misdeeds).’ [Surah Al Baqarah (2), Verse 144]
‘Sayed e Aalam preferred for the Kaa’ba to be made the Qibla, and in
expectation of this, Huzoor would turn his face towards the sky (i.e.
look towards the sky). It was due to this that this verse was revealed. While
in the state of Salaah, He turned towards the Kaa’ba, and the Muslims
also turned towards this direction with him. This proves that Almighty
Allah wants the pleasure of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , and the Kaa’ba was
made the Qibla, due to the Beloved Rasool . This also shows that to
perform Namaaz in the direction of the Qibla is Fard.’
On the issue of the people of the Book being addressed in this verse, Sadrul
Afaadil Alaihir Rahma says, ‘This was because it was explicitly mentioned
in their books that one of the signs of the Beloved Rasool was that He
will turn from Baytul Muqaddas towards the Kaa’ba. And when their
Prophets gave glad-tidings about the coming of Nabi , it was mentioned
that He will perform Salaah facing Baytul Muqaddas and the Kaa’ba, i.e.
both Qiblas.’

Now after examining Verse 144 of Surah Baqarah and the commentary
from Khaza’in ul Irfan, it is clear that the Kaa’ba was blessed with being the
Qibla due to the wish and the pleasure of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , hence
the Beloved Rasool is indeed ‘the Kaa’ba of the Kaa’ba.
I will now attempt to take this discussion into yet another direction, which
will support the fact that our Nabi is the Kaa’ba of the Kaa’ba.
It is mentioned that this was done for the pleasure of Rasoolullah , and
also to make clear as to who were the hypocrites, and who were the real
Muslims.
The scholars further mention that this also happened, so that it may
become clear as to who were the real followers of Nabi Muhammad , and
who were the mischief-makers
‘O Kaa’ba! You are truly exalted and honourable, but the honour and
excellence of a Momin (Believer), is much more than you in the Court of
Allah.’ [Tirmizi]

Once, while performing Tawaaf of the Kaa’ba, Nabi Kareem said,
‘O Kaa’ba! Surely you are pure, and your air (i.e. the atmosphere around
you) is also pure. I swear by Him in Whose Divine Power is the life of
Muhammad ; In the Court of Allah, the honour of a Momin (Believer) is
far greater than you.’ [Tirmizi]
After reading these blessed Ahadith, it proves that indeed, the Holy Kaa’ba
is exalted and honoured. The wind which passes over and around the
Kaa’ba is truly blessed, but far greater is the excellence of a Momin e Kaamil
(i.e. a faithful and sincere believer, i.e. the Beloveds of Allah).
Now we ask a question, who is the greatest and the most honoured and
most exalted among the Believers? It is none other than Sayyiduna Wa
Maulana Muhammad . Hence, it is clear that He is ‘the Kaa’ba of the
Kaa’ba.’
Another point to note here is that the Holy Kaa’ba is a creation, and the
Beloved Nabi is the greatest of all the creation, and the most Beloved of
the Creator, is our Nabi , who is indeed ‘the Kaa’ba of the Kaa’ba.’

The Dust on Which The Leader of The World, Placed His Sacred Feet,
Upon That Dust Is Sacrificed, Our Ecstatic Hearts
In this couplet Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza ؓ◌ is mentioning four
crucial things;
3. The Sacredness of the Dust on which The Beloved Nabi kept his
Sacred Feet

I will now attempt to briefly discuss the first point made by Sayyidi Aala
Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌, in other words, that our Beloved Nabi
Kareem is the ‘Leader of the Worlds.’
Alhamdu Lillah, it is a very clear and apparent fact, that our Beloved Nabi
is the Leader of the World. As mentioned in earlier discussions, the
Beloved Nabi is indeed ‘Sayyid ul Aalameen’, for the entire universe and
everything in it was created for the sake of the Beloved Rasool .
These words of Nabi Kareem show that the treasures to the keys of the
earth were blessed to Nabi , and indeed the keys to the treasures of the
earth are given to the one who is the most Beloved of Allah, and one who
is the ‘Sayyid ul Aalameen’ meaning ‘leader of the world.’

The Beloved Nabi also says, ‘I am the leader of the people, both on this
Earth and in the Hereafter, and I do not say this out of pride.’
In this couplet first Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ talks about Nabi Kareem
being Sayyid ul Aalameen, and then he explains the excellence of the
Sacred Dust on which Sayyiduna Rasoolullah placed His Sacred Feet,
so that we may understand that this is not just any ordinary dust.
It is the sacred dust which has come into contact with the Sacred Feet of
Sayyid ul Aalameen .
We will now attempt to discuss the second point which Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌ mentioned, and that is, ‘the Excellence of the Sacred Feet of Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah .’

Hence, we come to understand that none has a more beautiful set of feet
than the Beloved Rasool . Allahu Akbar!
• These are the Sacred Feet with which the Beloved Rasool
journeyed into the Heights of the Heavens on the eve of Me’raj.
• These are the Sacred Feet which marked the Me’raj of Sayyiduna
Jibra’eel Alaihis Salaam, when on the eve of Me’raj to gain the
blessed attention of Nabi he touched them with his forehead,
and then kissed the Sacred Feet of our Master Nabi Kareem .
• These are the Sacred Feet concerning which Hazrat Abdullah Bin
Buraidah ؓ◌ said, ‘The Sacred Feet of Rasoolullah were more
beautiful than that of all the people.’
• These are the Sacred Feet concerning which Hazrat Abu Salama ؓ◌
said, ‘After Him , I have never seen feet more beautiful than His
.’
• These are the Sacred Feet which defied the norms of nature, for
when placed on a rock, the rock would take the imprint of the
Sacred Footprint of Nabi Kareem .
So That It May Be Known, That Nature Is Subdued Beneath His Sacred Feet
Hence, Appeared Upon The Rocks, The Imprint of My Master’s Sacred Feet
We will now attempt to discuss the third point which Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌ mentioned, and that is ‘The Sacredness of the Dust on which The
Beloved Nabi kept his Sacred Feet.’
So sacred is the dust on which our Beloved Nabi place His Blessed
Feet that the great scholars have mentioned that this Sacred Dust is the
cure for all illnesses and the means of tremendous blessings.
It is proven from the Hadith Shareef, that the Dust of Madina is a blessing
and Shifa, and this is indeed through the blessing of the Sacred Feet of the
Beloved Rasool .
It is reported by Zubair Ibn Bakkar that, ‘The (Sacred) Dust (sand) of Madina
is a cure for leprosy.’ [Abu Nu’aim]

Further, there is a narration of Bukhari on the authority of Sayyidatuna
A’isha Siddiqa ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎthat the Beloved Nabi used to say, ‘Allah’s Name
(we) Begin with, the soil of our land and some of our saliva, cures our ill, by
the Will of Allah.’
Hazrat Anas ؓ◌ reported that The Beloved Rasool said, ‘O Allah, bless
Madina with twice the blessings which you have blessed to Makkah.’
In simple terms, one should note that the dust which touched the Blessed
Feet of Nabi Kareem became blessed because it was attributed to the
Beloved Nabi and thus became worthy of excellence.
Likewise, all those things which are attributed to the Beloved Rasool
are blessed and a means of Shifa (cure) and blessing. It was the manner of
the Sahaba e Kiraam that they would attain blessings from the sacred
belongings of the Beloved Rasool .
It is reported that Hazrat Asma’ bint Abi Bakr ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎhad in her possession
a Blessed Kurta (Upper garment) of the Beloved Rasool . When anyone
would become ill, he would go to her home. They would rinse that Holy
Kurta and then drink its water, and the person would immediately attain
Shifa (cure). [Muslim Shareef]
The dust of Madina Munawwarah is indeed sacred, and most sacred in the
entire world is the Sacred Dust from the Sacred Court of the Beloved Rasool
.

The younger brother of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, Ustaz e Zaman Hazrat
Allama Hasan Raza Khan Alaihir Rahma beautifully said,
For The Ill Person Who Finds No Respite in Anything in the World,
Let Him Take (As Cure) Some Sacred Dust From His Sacred Court
I will now attempt to discuss the fourth point which we find in this couplet
of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, in other words, ‘The condition of a Heart which
is ecstatic in the love of Rasoolullah .’
Indeed, those hearts which have been blessed with the true love of the
Beloved Rasool are the most blessed of all hearts. I have mentioned
once before that all people have been blessed with hearts, but the true
hearts are those that are treasure troves of the love of the Beloved Rasool
. The hearts with the most love for Rasoolullah are the hearts of
those who are the most beloved in the Court of Almighty Allah.
Amongst these hearts, are the hearts of those who are ecstatic in the love
of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . These are hearts which are so deeply
absorbed in the love of the Beloved Rasool , that they are willing to
sacrifice their feelings and all which they have, in the love of everything
which is attributed to the Beloved Nabi .

In the second stanza of this couplet, two vital and apparent yet veiled
points are seen. In the first, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is explaining that the
hearts of those who are ecstatic in the love of the Beloved Rasool are so
deeply in love with Him that they are prepared to sacrifice their all, just
to take the blessings of the Sacred Dust which touched the Sacred Feet of
Nabi Kareem .
The second point Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ mentions in a very veiled manner,
when he says, ‘Our Ecstatic Hearts.’
Here ‘Our’ is referring to the hearts of the Beloveds of the Beloved Nabi ,
and by saying ‘Our’ Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Azeem ul Barkat ؓ◌ is telling us that
he too is included in that selected category of Beloveds, whose hearts are
ecstatic in the love of Nabi .
‘Our Ecstatic Hearts’ here can also translate to, ‘My Ecstatic Heart’, and in
saying this, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ by the Grace of Allah and by the Blessing
of Nabi Kareem is speaking about the condition of his heart when he
penned this couplet.
He is yearning in the love of Nabi Kareem , and his heart is being drawn
overwhelmingly towards the Sacred Court of the Beloved Rasool . So, in
this deep spiritual ecstasy, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ pens this beautiful
couplet in the love of Sayyiduna wa Maulana Muhammad , and the voice
of his heart takes the form of this fascinating couplet, through which we
get to listen to the heart of a true Aashiq e Rasool .

As we all know and as we always say, the love for the Beloved Nabi is
the soul of our Imaan. True love for Nabi Kareem is to love everything
which is affiliated to the Beloved Rasool . This includes His Noble
Family (The Ahle Bayt), His distinguished Companions (The Sahaba), His
Beloved Wives (Azwaaj e Mutaharaat), who are indeed the Ummahaatul
Momineen (Mothers of the Believers), and all the those beloveds who are
beloved to Nabi Kareem , and to love and honour all the Blessed Relics
which are attributed to Nabi Kareem .
Also, to love and honour Makkah Mukarramah which is the Blessed City of
His birth, and Madina Munawwarah which is His present home, and
the most blessed garden from the gardens of Paradise. Those who truly love
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah indeed loved and respected the dust on which
our Nabi walked.
They honoured the sacred water which flowed over his blessed body
during Wudu. They would not let the droplets of water fall onto the ground.
They would take it in their hands and rub it over their faces and their hands
etc.
All these personalities and beloveds are those who were totally absorbed
in the love of our Beloved Nabi , and whose hearts were sacrificed in the
love of even a speck of dust which touched the Sacred Footwear (Naa’lain)
of Nabi Kareem .

Sayyiduna Imam Qadi Iyaad ؓ◌ mentions in his world renowned ‘Ash Shifa’
that Sayyiduna Imam Maalik ؓ◌ would never ride an animal or sit on a steed
in Madina. He would say,
‘I feel guilty before Allah to trample with the hooves of an animal, on that
ground in which the Beloved Rasool is resting.’ [Ash Shifa]
Allahu Akbar! Observe in the words of Sayyiduna Imam Maalik ؓ◌, the love
for the dust and the ground of Madina. This love was based on his sincere
love for Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .

The Sky’s Back Bent Over, Upon The Critic From The Earth (That),
Listen! Upon Me Is Madina; Such Is The Excellence Afforded To Me
This couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is amazing. We all know that the
presence of the sky above the earth portrays a sense of superiority and
special excellence. The sky is high above everything else. The Angels
descend from the skies, and the blessings of Allah descend through the
skies. Hence, the sky is truly blessed and exalted. The sky boasts all the light
and the radiance which the earth depends upon. In other words, we need
sunlight on the earth for brightness and for many other reasons, and the
sun which gives off that light is in the sky. We need stars to guide us and to
help us navigate our paths, and these bright stars are in the sky. We look
forward to a moonlit night to ease the darkness of night, and the moon
which gives us this light is in the sky. In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
Azeem ul Barkat ؓ◌ is saying that the sky is high above the earth and looks
down over the earth, whereas the earth and those on the earth have to look

up to see the beauty of the sky, and all this makes the sky feel very special
and superior.
We know that every day seventy thousand Angels descend in the morning
and seventy thousand Angels descend in the evening upon the Rauda e
Anwar of Nabi Kareem , so that they may attain the blessings of Nabi
Kareem . To achieve this special blessing they have to leave the heights
of the heaven and descend towards the earth. Subhaan’Allah! This couplet
shows the excellence of the earth, and shares a critical point. It tells us and
reminds us that always remember, no matter how bright, and how radiant
all the lamps of the world may be, they are all shining, glowing and
glittering because of The Noor of Nabi Muhammad Mustafa .

‘O Proclaimer of the Unseen (Nabi)! Verily We have sent you present and
seeing (as a witness), and as a Proclaimer of glad-tidings, and as a Warner.

And as an Inviter towards Allah, by His Divine Command, and (as a) Sun
which brightens.’ [Surah Al Ahzaab (33) Verse 45-46]
As stated earlier Hazrat Allama Naqi Ali Khan ؓ◌ the father of Sayyidi Aala
Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ has mentioned that, just as a lamp takes
away darkness and brightens a house, the arrival of Nabi Kareem
removed the darkness of kufr and shirk, and the entire universe was
brightened with the Light of Imaan and Irfan (correct understanding).
The verse of the Holy Qur’an is very clear that the Beloved Rasool is ‘A
Sun which brightens’ and according to some commentators, they have
mentioned the word ‘Siraaj’ to mean ‘A Radiant Lamp.’
Now, in both cases, it is clear that according to the Holy Qur’an, the Beloved
Rasool is one who distributes light and blessings.
Imam Bukhari has reported in his Taarikh and Abu Nu’aim and Baihaqi
have reported from Hazrat Hamzah Aslami ؓ◌ that he says,
Abu Nu’aim reported from Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ؓ◌. He says,
‘On a very dark night, Hazrat Imam Hasan ؓ◌ was with the Beloved Rasool
, as Nabi loved him dearly. Nabi then said, ‘Now you may go to
your beloved mother’, so I (Abu Hurairah ؓ◌) said, Ya Rasool’Allah ! I will
go with him. The Beloved Rasool said, ‘No’ (i.e. there is no need). Then
a Noor (Bright Light) shone from the sky, and he (Imam Hasan ؓ◌) walked
in the brightness of that light until he reached his blessed mother.’
Subhaan’Allah! Both these narrations clearly show that the Beloved Rasool
is one who blesses us with brightness. It further proves that
whomsoever received any light and blessing, he has received it through the
blessings of Nabi Kareem .
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ in the light of the Qur’an and
Hadith is strengthening our Aqida and reminding us that we should
remember that our Nabi Kareem is ‘Noor’ (Light), and through His
Light, the entire creation receives brightness by the Grace of Allah.

Hence, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ uses the Wasila of the Beloved Nabi being
‘Siraajum Munira’ (A Sun which Brightens) and through this Wasila, he asks
a special Dua that his heart should be brightened by the Noor of Rasoolullah
. There is no doubt that this Dua of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ was accepted,
as this great Imam distributed these rays of light to the entire Ummat e
Mustafa , by spreading the message of the Love for Nabi Kareem .
It must be noted that this couplet is also a beautiful Dua and a very
powerful wazifa (litany) to cleanse and purify the heart. I have personally
experienced the blessings of reciting this couplet as a litany.
I thus request that you too should attempt to make this a part of the blessed
litanies which you recite. Keep your hand on your heart after your Salaahs,
and whenever you feel any anxiety or pain in your heart, and with sincerity
and devotion, directing your heart towards the Beloved Nabi , recite this
glowing couplet and In’sha Allah, you will attain peace and composure.
On this couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, I would like to present few more
narrations which further support the fact that the Beloved Rasool is the
one who brightens and blesses us by Allah’s Grace.

and Haakim have mentioned this narration to be Sahih and Baihaqi, and
Abu Nu’aim have reported it on a different merit from Hazrat Anas ؓ◌.
Ubaid bin Bishr and Usaid bin Hudair ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﻤﺎ were in the Court of Nabi
Kareem due to some need. After some portion of the night had passed,
both of them returned (to their homes). When the both of them exited, it
was a very dark night. Each one of them had with them a stick, so one of
their sticks began to glow (like a lamp), and both of them walked in the
light of this stick. When they had to go in separate directions, then
(through the blessing of the first stick) the other stick also began to glow,
and each of them reached their home through the help of the light of their
stick.
Subhaan’Allah! Both these narrations once again support the fact that the
Beloved Rasool brightens and blesses those who have true faith in Him
.
In this couplet, when Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ says, ‘Also
Brighten My Heart, O’ You Who Brightens’, he is not only asking Dua for his
own heart to be brightened, but he has made this couplet the means of Dua
for us all.

Why does Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ ask for a bright and radiant heart? He does
so because he knows well the Hadith of the Beloved Rasool , that if the
heart is in order, then everything is in order, and if the heart is corrupted
then the entire body is corrupt. Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is thus asking Nabi
Kareem to allow his and our hearts to be bright and glowing with the
love of Allah and the love of Nabi .
Look at the first and righteous Khalifa of Islam Sayyiduna Abu Bakr
Siddique ؓ◌. His heart was glowing and radiant in the love of Allah and His
Beloved Nabi . He remained as close as he could to the Beloved Nabi ,
and hence none in the Ummah received the excellence which has been
afforded to Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique ؓ◌.
He was glowing, and his heart was shining in the pure love of Allah and His
Beloved Nabi . It was the blessing of this Noor in his heart which he had
attained in the love of Nabi Kareem that made him the most glowing
personality in the universe, after all the Ambia e Kiraam Alaihimus Salaam.

that when it comes to love and obedience to Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , we
should realise that this is the fundamental principle of all principles.

The best and most beautiful Imaan refreshing example by which to
understand this, is the famous incident which is related to Sayyiduna Abu
Bakr Siddique ؓ◌.
There is no doubt that Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique ؓ◌ honestly and sincerely
loved Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . His love for the Beloved Rasool was a
unique one, and this was evident from every action of Hazrat Abu Bakr
Siddique ؓ◌.
It was evident throughout his life and could be seen day in and day out. The
love for Nabi was deeply embedded in his heart and soul, and hence he
was blessed with such great excellence in the Court of the Beloved Nabi
by virtue of this faithful and sincere love.

One hole was still uncovered, so he covered it with his toe.
In the hole, there lived a snake which yearned to see the Beloved Rasool
. It rubbed its head against the foot of Hazrat Abu Bakr ؓ◌ but he did not
move his foot, thinking that it would disturb the rest of the Beloved Nabi
.

Finally, the snake bit him on his foot. When Hazrat Abu Bakr’s ؓ◌ tears fell
upon the Blessed Face of the Beloved Nabi , Nabi Kareem opened His
Blessed Eyes, and Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique ؓ◌ explained what had
happened.
The Beloved Nabi applied His Blessed Saliva to the snake bite, and
this gave him immediate relief.
Every year, the potency of the poison caused a relapse. After twelve years,
he received martyrdom due to this.
It must be noted that Nabi Kareem placed His Blessed Saliva on the
bite, allowing Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique ؓ◌ to gain relief from the pain and
discomfort.
The poison, however, remained in him, and the effects of this caused his
demise.
Thus, the passing of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique was, in reality, his sacrifice
in the love and honour of Nabi Kareem .

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is explaining the excellence and the
beauty of the Dua of our Beloved Rasool .
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is explaining that when any one of us makes any Dua
we look forward and hope for its acceptance. We are not sure whether the
Dua (invocation) which we have asked for will be accepted or not, but he
explains that the Dua of Nabi Kareem is different, unique and most
blessed, for acceptance itself waits for the Dua of Nabi .
We wait for our Duas to reach a level of acceptance, and acceptance rushes
towards the Dua of Nabi Muhammad . We search for acceptance and
acceptance awaits His Dua. Subhaan’Allah! The Dua of none other is
more exalted and more blessed than the Dua of the Beloved Rasool .

Sahabi e Rasool Hazrat Anas ؓ◌ is very well-known, and he is that Sahabi
who was groomed at the home of Hazrat Abu Talha ؓ◌ because his blessed
mother had married Hazrat Abu Talha ؓ◌. Hazrat Anas ؓ◌ says that one of
the sons of Hazrat Abu Talha ؓ◌ became very ill and then passed away while
Hazrat Abu Talha ؓ◌ was away from Madina at this time. When his blessed
wife saw that the child had passed away, she prepared a meal, and placed
the child in a section of the house. When Hazrat Abu Talha ؓ◌ returned
from his journey (that night), he asked, how is the child? She replied, he is
in peace, and I am sure that he has attained relief (in other words, she
meant that he had passed away, but she spoke with a veiled reference).
Hazrat Abu Talha ؓ◌ thought that the child was now well. That night he
came close to his wife (intimately). Later after he had performed Ghusl (the
ritual bath), his wife informed him of the entire situation. Hazrat Abu Talha
ؓ◌ performed his Fajr Salaah with the Beloved Rasool . He then
mentioned to Nabi Kareem about the situation with his child. Referring
to the situation of the night (which passed), Nabi Kareem said, ‘I am
certain that Almighty Allah will bless both of you with Barkat in your
night.’
Subhaan’Allah! This was the Barkat of the Dua of Nabi Kareem . Hazrat
Abu Talha ؓ◌ lost one child, and by the Dua of Nabi Kareem , he was
blessed with nine sons after that, who were great reciters and teachers of
the Holy Qur’an.

One other important point to be noted here is the patience of the wife of
Hazrat Abu Talha ؓ◌. She did not inform him immediately of the child’s
passing away as he had just returned from a lengthy journey, so instead of
allowing him to fall into grief, she comforted him first and then explained
the situation to him. This Dua of Nabi Kareem was also due to her
patience and her devotion towards her husband.
My Beloved Master struck Hazrat Ali ؓ◌ with his blessed hand on his
chest and said, ‘O Allah, grant him guidance’ (in other words strengthen his
heart with confidence). [Abu Dawud Kitaabul Qada]
Hazrat Ali ؓ◌ says, ‘After that day (i.e. right up to this very day), I have
never had any doubt or uncertainty in judging between two people (on any
case that has been presented before me).’ [Ibn Majah]

Subhaan’Allah! Look at the immense blessing and power of the Dua of
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , that a young person like Hazrat Ali ؓ◌ was
blessed with such wisdom and acumen, through this Dua of Nabi Kareem
. While explaining this Hadith Huzoor Sayyidi Muhad’dith e Kabeer
(Allah exalt his excellence) says, in reality when my Beloved Master
struck Hazrat Ali ؓ◌ on his chest, the sea of knowledge began to rise in the
depths of his heart.
Subhaan’Allah! Look at the Barkat of the Dua of Nabi . The Dua for Barkat
was made for him as a child, and he and others benefitted from this Dua for
the rest of his life.

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is talking about the blessed destiny
of the Beloved Companions of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . He is explaining
how blessed they were, and that it was not just by chance that they ended
up as Companions of Nabi Kareem , but they were chosen by Almighty
Allah and destined to be among the Companions of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah
.
Before mentioning their great destiny and their good fortune, Sayyidi Aala
Hazrat ؓ◌ first speaks about their love and devotion in the Court of
Sayyiduna Rasoolullah , by telling us that these were such blessed and
fortunate ones who without fear or favour offered their lives and hearts as
a sacrifice in the love of Rasoolullah . This couplet refers to all the
Beloved Companions of Rasoolullah , but at the same time specifically

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ◌ؓ mentions above, that the Sahaba e Kiraam loved
Nabi Kareem dearly, and they showed immense respect for Nabi
Kareem . None can compare in the respect which they presented for
Nabi Kareem . This is evident from this Hadith Shareef which is reported
in Muslim Shareef,

When Nabi Kareem made Hijrat (migrated) from Makkah to Madina, He
lived in the lower section (ground floor) of the home of Hazrat Abu

Ayub Ansari ؓ◌, while Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari ؓ◌ used to live on the upper
floor. One night Abu Ayub Ansari ؓ◌ woke up, and he thought (i.e. said to
himself), we are living (and walking) above the Beloved Rasool , so the
entire night they sat in one corner. In the morning he went to Nabi Kareem
and mentioned it to Nabi , so Nabi Kareem said, I am more
comfortable with the ground floor, but Abu Ayub Ansari ؓ◌ said, I will not
live above the roof beneath which you live. Nabi Kareem (appreciated
his love and) moved to the upper floor, and Abu Ayub Ansari ؓ◌ moved to
the ground floor. Then, when Abu Ayub Ansari ؓ◌ would have food
prepared for Nabi Kareem , and when after partaking in the meal, Nabi
Kareem would return the remaining food for the family (of Abu Ayub
Ansari ؓ◌). Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari ؓ◌ would ask, which portion was
touched by the Sacred Fingers of Rasoolullah (and then in order to
attain its blessings), he would place his fingers in the same area (he would
eat from where Nabi ate). One day they had food prepared which had
(raw) garlic in it, and when it was sent back (to the family), he asked about
the portion of the food which was touched by Rasoolullah , and it was
said that Nabi had not eaten from it. Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari ؓ◌ became
very stressed by this and went to Nabi Kareem and said, is this food
forbidden? Nabi said, No! It is not forbidden, but I do not like it (due to
the garlic). Hazrat Abu Ayub ؓ◌ said, I too do not like that which you do not
like (or he said), I do not like that which you did not like.
Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari ؓ◌ stated that (the reason for Nabi not
preferring food which had garlic was because) Wahi (Revelation)

descended upon him (and the odour of garlic caused the Angels
discomfort).
Subhaan’Allah! Look at how many points which prove the practices of the
Ahle Sunnat are evident from this one Hadith Shareef:
1. Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari’s respect for Nabi and his heart not
being content with living above Nabi .
5. When Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari ؓ◌ found out that Nabi Kareem
did not prefer garlic, he did not ask the reason, but he too said he
did not like it because Nabi did not like it.
This narration thus serves as evidence for all these blessed practices of the
Ahle Sunnah. No Nabi shall come after Nabi Kareem and the Awliyah,
Masha’ikh and Ulama e Haq are the representatives of the Ambia Alaihimus

Salaam. Therefore, when we show respect to them and honour them, it is
in following the ethics of respect as taught by the Sahaba e Kiraam and as
acknowledged by the Beloved Rasool .
This Hadith also clearly explains the good fortune and the sacrifices of the
Sahaba e Kiraam like Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari ؓ◌, who sacrificed his comfort
and pleasures for the love of Rasoolullah , and was blessed with the good
fortune of having Nabi Kareem live in his home and the good fortune
of eating the food left for him and his family by Sayyiduna Rasool .
In further explaining this couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, I will share with
you an incident from the life of a Sahabiya of the Beloved Rasool .
Hazrat Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik ؓ◌ states, ‘On the day of the Battle of
Uhud, there was uneasiness amongst the Ahle Madina, and from all over
Madina announcements were being made, that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah
had been made Shaheed (martyred). Hence, a lady from amongst the
Ansaar emerged, and she saw the bodies of her brother, her son and her
husband, but she could not recognise whom she had passed by first. When

she reached the last martyr, she asked, ‘Who is this?’ The people said, ‘This
is your brother, your father, your husband and your son.’ She said, ‘How is
the Beloved Rasool ?’ The Sahaba e Kiraam said, ‘The beloved Rasool
is at the front.’ The Ansari Sahabiya ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎwent towards Rasoolullah
and held the blessed clothing of Nabi Kareem and said, ‘Ya Rasool’Allah
! May my mother and father be sacrificed upon you! If you are well,
then I have no worry about anyone else.’
Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Look at what she has just gone
through, but observe the Sabr (patience) of this Beloved Sahabiya ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎ
Her entire family has been martyred, her brother, her father, her husband
and her son, and she does not complain. All she is concerned about is the
well-being of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah . Look at her words to Allah’s
Beloved . Allahu Akbar!

This is yet another beautiful couplet penned by Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam
Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ in the love of Nabi Kareem .
He says that the Beloved Rasool never left us (His Ummah) out in all His
Blessings. At every stage and during every blessed moment, Nabi
Kareem remembered us, and even on the day of Qiyaamat He will be
remembering us and interceding for us, as the Doors of Intercession will be
opened only by Him .

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is reminding us that all which we have been afforded
is through the blessing and the mercy of our Master Muhammad Mustafa
.
How can we not remember Him who stood the entire night weeping in
the Court of Almighty Allah for our forgiveness and salvation?
Even when our Nabi was amongst His Sahaba e Kiraam, He cared
about every one of them and addressed every one of their difficulties. Even
today, our Nabi cares about every one of us and all our difficulties are
alleviated through His Wasila and Blessings.

It is reported on the authority of Hazrat Jabir ؓ◌ that his father died and he
owed thirty Awsaq (in dates) to a Jew. He asked him to give him some time
so that he may pay it, but he refused to do so.
He thus requested the Beloved Rasool to intervene with the Jew (on this
matter). Sayyiduna Rasoolullah approached the Jew and requested him
to accept the fruits (i.e. dates) from his trees as payment for the debt, but
he refused (this offer).

After He completed His Salaah, I mentioned to Him about the extra
fruits (dates), so Rasoolullah said, inform Umar ؓ◌ about this.
I went to Hazrat Umar ؓ◌ and mentioned to him about it. Hazrat Umar ؓ◌
said, when Rasoolullah walked about in your orchard, I knew for certain
that Almighty Allah would surely bless you (with abundance).

The explanation of this couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, I included when
my dear brother in Deen Abdur Rauf Bhai from Chicago (USA) sent me a
message requesting what the meaning of the words ‘Nakhl e Tooba’
referred to in the above-mentioned couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌.
Firstly, Nakhl means Tree and Tooba is a Tree in Jannat. Now, this is
another amazing couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, and this one couplet
alone holds a treasure trove of knowledge.

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ has referred to the Beloved Nabi in this couplet
as the ‘Rose of Madina’, meaning the entire Madina is fragrant due to this
Blessed Rose.
Madina Shareef is the capital city of the entire universe, so the entire
universe is fragrant and thriving because of the blessings of the fragrance
of the ‘Rose of Madina’ .
Not only, the world, but also the hereafter and Holy Paradise are fragrant
by His Fragrance and Blessings. Subhaan’Allah! Look at the choice of
the words, ‘Rose of Madina’ by Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌.
If we just discuss the words ‘Rose of Madina’ this alone will become a
lengthy and vast discussion on the Blessings and the Mercy of Sayyiduna
wa Maulana Muhammad .
Now let me share with you some information about ‘Tooba’. Almighty Allah
says in the Holy Qur’an:
ب ٰ وﺣ ْﺴ ْ ﻟaٰ اﻟﺼﻠ ٰﺤﺖ ﻃ ۡﻮٰ ﻳۡﻦ ٰاﻣﻨ ۡﻮا وﻋﻤﻠﻮا+ ا
ٍ ﻦ ﻣﺎ
‘Those who brought Imaan (Believed), and did virtuous deeds, for them is
‘Tooba’ (happiness), and a wonderful end.’ [Surah Ra’ad (13), Verse 29]

While presenting the commentary on this verse, Khalifa e Aala Hazrat
Sadrul Afaadil Allama Sayed Na’eemud-deen Muradabadi Alaihir Rahma
says,
‘There is a tree in Jannat which is called ‘Tooba’ which has breasts, so the
children who pass away receive milk from its breasts, and the one who
cares for them is Hazrat Ibrahim Alaihis Salaam.’

In this couplet Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ chose the words, ‘Rose’ and then he
could have mentioned any other tree, but he mentions ‘Tooba’.
Hazrat Ka’ab Al Ahbar ؓ◌ says, I asked Nabi Kareem about the trees of
Jannat (Paradise), so He said,
Some analysts have mentioned that Tooba also refers to the Beloved Rasool
or the blessings of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
This there is no doubt in because the Blessing and the Mercy to the entire
Creation is our Beloved Nabi Kareem .
In other words, the Heavenly tree has its roots in the Blessed Heavenly
Courtyard of Nabi Kareem , and it spreads out to the home of every
Jannati.
The scholars have said that this also denotes that the greatest tree of Imaan
is the Beloved Rasool , and His Blessings and His Mercy reaches
the home of every sincere believer.
Hence, even in the Aakhirat (hereafter) the Tree Tooba which will have its
roots in the Blessed Residence of our Master Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa
will spread to the homes of all Jannatis (dwellers of Paradise).
This means that even in Jannat all the dwellers of Paradise will receive the
Blessings of Almighty Allah through the Mercy and the Blessings of our
Master and our Beloved Rasool Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa .

treasure of knowledge and Ruhaniyat, allowing us to explore the beauty of
Jannat, the great tree of Jannat, and the special blessings of the Rose of
Madina Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .

This couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is one which
should serve as an eye-opener, and his words should jolt the core of our
existence. Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan ؓ◌ is addressing and
talking to those who live their lives drowned in the world and the love of
the world, totally oblivious to their duties in this world, and oblivious to
their real reason for being on this earth. It is on the authority of Hazrat Abu
Hurairah ؓ◌ that the beloved Rasool said,
ﺍﻟﺪﻧ ْ ﻴﺎ ﺳ ْﺠ
ﻦ ﺍﻟ
ْﻤ ْﺆ ﻣ ﻦ و ﺟ ﻨ
ﺔ ﺍ ْﻟ
ﺎ
‘The world is a prison unto a believer, and paradise for an unbeliever.’
[Muslim Shareef]

This Hadith Shareef is telling us that when a Muslim enters this world and
lives in this world, then he does not live a free-thinking and free-acting life,
but he lives a life governed by the commands of Allah and His Beloved
Rasool , which in simple words refers to the Pristine Shariat. Sadly
today, there are Muslims who claim to be free-thinkers, and they try to
adapt this ideology in Islam, whereas there is no place for this in the Deen
of Allah. Free-thinking or free-minded people are those who are regarded
as the non-conformists. They openly reject accepted views, especially
those concerning Religious beliefs.
They try to carve a new path in Deen claiming to give more space to people,
allowing them to make their own decisions in issues of Deen. Beware of
such people and their corrupt ideology. In Islam, our thinking and our
practices are based on the commands of Allah and His Rasool and not
based on what pleases us, but it is all about what pleases Allah and His
Rasool .
Thus, this world and the love for this world becomes the object of desire,
and a person feels that he or she must strive for the success, acclamation,
and accolades of this materialistic world. We must remember that the
world and all which is in it will one day cease to exist. On the other hand,
we have those who are simply oblivious and think the world is one huge
amusement park, forgetting that the world is an examination centre. We
are here to go through the tests of life which have been set here for us by
Almighty Allah. Our success is when we pass this test and journey from this
world with Imaan. In’sha Allah, then we will be blessed with Paradise and
the bounties of Paradise.

Those who do not believe, live free lives without being governed by any
real rules of faith, so they find their pleasures in this world, whereas the
true pleasures of a believer, he will attain in Jannat ul Firdaus.
This is what Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is warning us about in this couplet when
he mentions those who sleep without performing their Fajr in its appointed
time and those who spend their lives for the pleasure of the world, rather
than in the remembrance of Almighty Allah. Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is
waking us up from our deep sleep and saying to us:
Do you not know that by missing your Fajr you are breaking away
from the Protection of Allah?

Do you not realise that one who is not in the Protection of Allah, is
in the hands of shaitaan the cursed?
Where is your modesty before your Nabi , and where is your fear
for Allah, who created you and who will cause you death?
• Do you have no fear that Allah will have you thrown into the
dungeons of hell, and that you will be in severe torment after your
death?
• How will you face Muhammad Mustafa after your death, after
you have squandered such a blessed gift which He brought to
you?
For those who sleep through the night oblivious of their Fajr Salaah and
spend the rest of their day ‘chasing the world’, have they forgotten the
words of the Hadith Shareef? Let us remind each other about what our Nabi
said:
After having read the above mentioned Ahadith e Mubaaraka, let us ask
ourselves some crucial questions:

This is yet another eloquent couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle
Sunnat ؓ◌. He has penned this couplet so beautifully that it causes one to
become ecstatic in the love of Nabi Kareem .
In this couplet, the word ‘Love’ refers to the faithful and profound love for
Sayyiduna wa Maulana Muhammad . In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌ used the word ‘Sadqay’ which we translated here as ‘your blessings’
which means due to being sacrificed in your love.

The word ‘Sastay’ means cheap or easily acquired or having attained
something without having to do much; or being released after not having
to face the full force of what was due to you, for your offences.
In the first stanza the word ‘Aag’ refers to the fire of hell, and in the second
stanza it refers to the flame (i.e. the lamp) of Ishq e Rasool (i.e. the profound
love for Sayyiduna Rasoolullah ).
Now, after reading the above short explanation of some of the key words
in this couplet, we will understand what Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle
Sunnat Imam Ahmed Raza ؓ◌ is saying in the profound love of Nabi Kareem
.
Now, this narration tells us that the fire of hell will say that the light of the
Believers is extinguishing its flames, and what is this light? This is the Light
of Imaan; the Light of Ishq e Rasool . We know that Pul Siraat is a bridge
which is over the raging flames of hell-fire and every person has to walk
over this bridge which is sharper than the sword and thinner than a hair.
From the Hadith Shareef we understand that the fire of hell will encourage
the Believers to pass over swiftly, and the other point which Sayyidi Aala
Hazrat ؓ◌ is mentioning here is that we have been blessed with such a light,
such a lamp, and such a flame in our hearts that even the raging flames of
hell will sense the power of the light of Ishq e Rasool , encouraging us
to pass over quickly, for it knows that the true believer should not be
allowed to fall in, for his light will extinguish the flames of hell.
Therefore, we have understood that due to the blessing of this light of Ishq
e Rasool we will be allowed to pass Pul Siraat easily, and be saved from
falling into hell-fire.
Here there is also one hidden point. What is this point? At the end of Pul
Siraat will be standing our Beloved Nabi , as He makes Dua for His
Ummah to pass with peace, and as the true believers pass Pul Siraat,
knowing and observing Nabi Kareem praying for our safe passage over

Pul Siraat, this light within the hearts of the believers will now glow even
more in the love of Nabi Kareem .
We should thus strive with sincerity and devotion to kindle in our hearts
the flame of Ishq e Nabi , for it is our means of success in this world, and
our saviour in the hereafter.

Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is explaining that on that day, nothing will be able
to quench our thirst, except the generosity of the ‘The Distributor and the
Owner of Kauthar (By The Will of Allah) Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .’

This couplet can be understood in two ways;
One is that the Beloved Rasool will quench the thirst of His thirsty
Ummah on that day by offering them the heavenly drink of Kauthar, which
will quench their thirst forever.
The other is that when the Ummah and those who truly love Nabi Kareem
see His Blessed and Radiant Face, they will forget the difficulties and
the harshness of that day, as they will quench their thirst by becoming
absorbed in the Beauty of the Sacred Face of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ is telling us that on that day,
there is no way to be saved from the harshness and the difficulties of
Qiyaamat except through the intercession and the generosity of the
Beloved Rasool .
Hence, he is making this Dua that, O Allah! On the day when the intensity
of the heat will be so severe, and none will care about the other, then on
that day afford us the blessing of being amongst those who will be blessed
with Kauthar by the Blessed Hands of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .

I find it befitting to end this book by discussing some couplets from the
world-renowned and marvellous Salaam penned by Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌.
This Salaam of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ has captured the
hearts and the minds of Muslims all over the world. It is recited in
thousands of Masjids after Jummah Prayer on a Friday, and on the Special
Nights and the days of Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Adha, and after our Meelad un
Nabi Mehfils and at the closing of many of our Nikahs, and even when
saying farewell to our deceased from this world.

Those who oppose the practice of sending Salaams upon Rasoolullah in
the manner presented by Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ and the great pious
predecessors have always used lame excuses to divert the Muslims from
the practice of sending Salutations upon Sayyiduna Rasoolullah .
Such deviants and their agents have tried for years to remove this practice
from our community, labelling it Shirk and Bid’ah, but the more they have
tried, the more this blessed practice has gained prominence, both in the
East and the West.
In writing the first couplet of this magnificent Salaam, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌ has beautifully adhered to the Command of the Holy Qur’an. To help
understand this, I will attempt to present a discussion on sending Salaam
upon Nabi Kareem .

Almighty Allah says in the Holy Qur’an:

ﻳۡﻦ ٰاﻣ ﻨ ۡﻮا ﺻ ﻠ ۡﻮا ﻋ ﻠ ۡﻴ ﻪ+ا
ﺎﻳ ﻬﺎb ﻳc d اﻟﻨ
e ﻜﺘﻪ ﻳﺼ ﻠ ۡﻮن ﻋ . / ن اﷲ وﻣﻠ ا
ْﺴ ﻠ ۡﻴ ًﻤﺎH و ﺳ ﻠ ﻤ ۡﻮا
‘Undoubtedly, Allah and His Angels send Durood upon the Proclaimer of
the Unseen (Nabi), O Believers! (You too) Send Durood and Salaam in
abundance upon him.’ [Al Ahzaab (33), Verse 56]
Concerning this verse of the Holy Qur’an, Hazrat Allama Syed Shah Turab
ul Haq Alaihir Rahma in his Anwaar ul Qur’an beautifully states,
In this verse, the command concerning the sending of Durood and Salaam
is absolute. Hence, except disallowed instances, one may recite Durood
wherever and whenever he or she wishes to, as it would be following the
command which has been given in the verse above of the Qur’an, be this if
one does so while sitting or while standing.
Huzoor Shah Saaheb Alaihir Rahma further says that the reality and fact of
the matter is that none can ever diminish the remembrance of the one
whose remembrance is exalted by Allah Almighty.

In the words of Aala Hazrat ؓ◌:
Your Enemies Were Ruined, Are Ruined, And Will Forever Be Ruined;
But Your Eminent Praises Were Never Ruined,
And Shall Never Ever Be Ruined

Now, look at the command of the Holy Qur’an,
And then take a look at this beautiful couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, and
you will see how he commences this Salaam and how he follows and
adheres to the Command of Almighty Allah.
What an Aashiq e Rasool is Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌! Just this one couplet
alone displays the extent of his sincere love and devotion for the Best in
Allah’s Creation, The Mercy unto the Worlds, The Soul of Mercy Hazrat
Muhammad Mustafa .
Still discussing the opening couplet of this Salaam by Sayyidi Aala Hazrat
ؓ◌, I must reiterate that Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌ is
teaching us how to send Durood and Salaams in abundance upon Sayyiduna
Rasoolullah .

He is also teaching us how to address the Beloved Rasool with exalted
titles when sending Durood and Salaams upon Him .
To refresh our memories about some of the ethics and blessings of Durood
and Salaam I will present here the commentary of Verse 33 from Surah Al
Ahzaab, i.e. from the Ayat of Durood, as presented in Tafseer Khaza’in ul
Irfan by the Khalifa of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, Sadrul Afaadil Allama Sayed
Na’eemud-deen Muradabadi ؓ◌. He writes:
Name) in every sitting (gathering), and upon the person who hears it. To
do so is Waajib once, and to do so more than this is Mustahab
(recommended/desirable). This is the most reliable statement (view), and
this is the view of the majority (of the scholars). In Namaaz (Salaah), after
the Qa’da e Aakhirah (final sitting), to recite Durood Shareef is Sunnat, and
after Him , Durood can also be sent upon His Noble Family, Blessed
Companions and other Believers. In other words, in Durood Shareef, they

can be included after mentioning Nabi Kareem’s Blessed Name, and to
send Durood upon any of them directly by leaving out Nabi , is Makruh
(disapproved).

the reciter sends Durood upon me, then the Angels make Dua (pray) for his
forgiveness. It is in the Hadith of Muslim Shareef that, the one who sends
Durood once upon me, Almighty Allah showers him with ten blessings. It is
mentioned in the Hadith Shareef of Tirmizi, a miser is one before whom I
am remembered, yet he does not send Durood upon me.
2. He knows that one Durood affords ten Special Blessings from the
Court of Allah, so instead of sending one, he sends hundreds of
thousands, thereby amassing millions (i.e. abundant) Blessings
from the Court of Allah.
I would now like to share with you some interesting information I came
across while reading explanations on the blessed Salaam ‘Mustafa Jaan e

Rahmat’. This information is based on the actual sequence in which Sayyidi
Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ wrote this blessed Salaam:
1. In the first thirty couplets of this Salaam, the unique attributes, marvels
and miracles of Nabi Kareem are mentioned. These thirty couplets also
make it very clear that Nabi Kareem is the Greatest Blessing of Allah
upon us, and that His existence is unique, and the means and purpose
for the existence of everything else.
thoughts. He also talks about The Beloved Rasool’s Blessed Arrival and
Him being blessed with being triumphant in propagating the Deen.

5. From couplet one hundred up to couplet one hundred and four Sayyidi
Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ mentions Nabi Kareem’s participation in military
expeditions and His Courage and Valour.
6. From couplet one hundred and five up to couplet one hundred and
seventeen, the fragrance of the Noble Family of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah
and the Blessed Family of Sayyidatuna Faatima Zahra ر ﺍﷲ ﻋﻨﺎare mentioned.
(Allah is pleased with them all).
7. From couplet one hundred and eighteen up to couplet one hundred and
twenty-six, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ mentions the excellence of the Azwaaj e
Mutaharaat, i.e. the Blessed and Pure Wives of Nabi Kareem who are
the Mothers of the Ummah. (Allah is pleased with them all).
9. From couplet one hundred and forty-four up to couplet one hundred and
forty-nine, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ presents Salaam to the Tabi’een, Tab-be
Tabi’een and the entire Household of Nabi Kareem . (Allah is pleased
with them all).
10. In couplet one hundred and fifty and couplet one hundred and fifty-
one, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ mentions the four A’ima e Mujtahideen, namely
Imam Azam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi’i and Imam Ahmed bin
Hambal (Allah is pleased with them all).

11. From couplet one hundred fifty-two up to couplet one hundred and
fifty-five, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ sends Salaam to Imam ul Awliyah Huzoor
Sayyiduna Ghauth e Azam ؓ◌.
12. From couplet one hundred and fifty-six up to couplet one hundred and
sixty-one, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ mentions the Masha’ikh (Spiritual Grand-
masters of His Silsila).
13. From couplet one hundred and sixty-two up to couplet one hundred
and sixty-nine, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ mentions the entire Ahle Sunnah,
his parents, his friends and relatives, and his teachers, in the form of Dua
as well.
14. In couplets one hundred and seventy and one hundred and seventy-
one, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ mentions his wish on the Day of Reckoning in
the form of Dua, for all to send Salutations upon the Beloved Rasool ,
and for him (Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌) to be honoured with the opportunity
of reciting ‘Mustafa Jaane Rahmat Pe Laakho(n) Salaam’ on that special day.

This couplet of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is one which is regarded among the
reciters of this Salaam as the ‘Moulood Couplet’, as it mentions the
beautiful and heart-warming moment when the Beloved Nabi entered
this physical world.
In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is paying tribute and saluting that
spectacular moment in which the Best of Allah’s Creation, The Mercy unto
the worlds, The Coolness of our eyes, The Tranquillity of our hearts, The
Seal of The Prophets, The Comfort to the Faithful, The Hope of The
Desperate, my and your Nabi Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa entered this
physical world. Something to think about is that in this couplet Sayyidi
Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ uses the words, ‘The Moon of Madina’ whereas the Beloved

Rasool was born in Makkah Shareef and Taibah is the name which is
given to Madina Shareef.
I thought about this for a while and then again looked at the first stanza of
this couplet, in which I feel I have found an answer to this question, by the
Karam of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌, which satisfied my heart.
The answer can be found in the word, ‘Chamka’, in other words, ‘Glowed’.
Here glowed means to appear for the first time. So in this context, it would
mean when the Beloved Rasool physically arrived into this physical
world.
Hence, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat uses the word, ‘Taibah Ka Chaand’ to affirm that
‘The Moon of Madina’ is still ‘The Moon of Madina’ and is still glowing with
all His splendour and radiance, even though He is hidden from our
worldly eyes.
The words ‘Moon of Madina’ were used by Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ to affirm
our Aqida (belief) that ‘The Moon of Madina’ is still glowing as He
first glowed in Makkah Mukarramah, and He will continue to glow by

Allah’s Grace, for the entire Universe is radiant due to ‘The Moon of
Madina’ .
• It was the moment when Allah sent His Most Beloved to guide
the people out of the darkness of infidelity, bringing them towards
the Light of Imaan.
• It was the beautiful moment when the stars shone brighter than
ever as they drew closer to earth to make Ziyaarah of the Beloved
Rasool
Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is reminding us that everything and all the blessings
which we have, are through the blessings of that one special beautiful
moment, ‘The Meelad Moment.’

In this couplet, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Ash Shah Imam Ahmed Raza Khan
Qaadiri Barakaati ؓ◌ is conveying Salaam upon the humility, patience and
modest lifestyle of our Beloved Rasool .
As we have mentioned earlier in this Book, Almighty Allah has made Nabi
Kareem ‘The King’ of this entire world and granted in his Blessed Hands
the keys to the treasures of this world, but despite all this, our Nabi
lived a modest lifestyle.
Nabi Kareem would often eat bread made from raw barley, and he never
ate a full stomach of food.

ﻌ ﺔ ﻃﺎو ًﻳﺎ وﺃ_ْﻠQ ﺘﺎBﺍﻟﻠ ﻴﺎ` ﺍﻟ ْﻤ L

ﻻ ﻳﺠﺪ
Blessed Family did not have any supper, and (when they did then) they
usually ate bread which was made from barley.’
‘There was never extra barley bread available for the Noble Family of The
Beloved Rasool .’

This should teach us to appreciate all which Almighty Allah has given us.
‘The Beloved Rasool never ate a full stomach of barley bread on two
successive days, until He was taken (from this world).’
Allahu Akbar!
Look at the words of the Hadith Shareef, and we will realise how simple a
life our Master lived.
Today, through His blessings, we eat the best of foods, and we live in
the best of homes on this earth, but many of us fail to adhere to the
commands of Allah and His Rasool .

So many have no fear and shame in wasting food and rejecting food
because it does not suit our taste buds.
Our beloved Master often lived on bread made from barley. The next
time any one of us thinks of being ungrateful for the food which we have,
think of the life of Nabi Kareem and the hardships that the Ahle Bayt
faced.

Subhaan’Allah, this was the Barkat and the Miracle of the Blessed Fingers
of Nabi Kareem . Where are the deviants who claim that Nabi Kareem
was a mere human? Have you ever seen any human do this? Sayyidi
Aala Hazrat thus says, ‘Fountains of Light (Noor).’ By saying this, Sayyidi
Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is saying that Nabi is not human as ordinary humans are,
but He is Noor in the garb of the greatest super human, and the
fountains of water which flowed from His blessed fingers, were actually
through the Barkat of His Noor. It is our Aqida that our Beloved Rasool
is Noor (light), but Almighty sent Him towards us in the garb of man,

He speaks about the Angels who will be appointed to serve the Beloved
Rasool on the Day of Reckoning and then mentions his heart’s desire.
He says that all his life he praised the Beloved Rasool and in doing so,
he penned this beautiful Salaam, so he wishes that on the day of Reckoning,
he should be afforded the honour of reciting this Salaam to the Beloved
Rasool .

It is mentioned on the authority of Hazrat Anas bin Malik ؓ◌ that while
speaking about the day of Qiyaamat, the Beloved Rasool said,

‘I shall be the first to rise when the people rise from their graves. I will be their
leader when they go before Allah, and I will be their spokesperson when they
are all alone, and I will be their intercessor when they are detained (on that
day), and I will give them hope (glad-tidings) when they are in despair. The
keys of respect and the treasures of mercy will be in my hand on that day. On
that day, Liwa ul Hamd (The Flag of Praise) will be in my hand. From amongst
all the offspring of Adam (i.e. all the people), I am the most exalted near my
Creator. A Thousand (i.e. thousands) servant will be going around me as if
they were eggs which are kept with great care, or like pearls all extensively
spread out.’ [Mishkaat Shareef]

They stroke their wings against the Sacred Rauda (Grave) of Nabi ,
conveying Salaam taking blessings, and when Nabi finally emerges
from his Blessed Rauda e Anwar on the last day, He will be in the midst
of seventy thousand Angels. [At Tadhkirah Fi Ahwaalil Mawta Wal
Aakhirah]
Now, referring to these same Angels, who will be serving the Beloved
Rasool , in whose midst Nabi Kareem will arrive on the Plains of
Reckoning, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat ؓ◌ is saying, that during this time, the
serving Angels should say to me, O Raza! Recite Mustafa Jaane Rahmat Pe
Laakho(n) Salaam!

May Almighty Allah shower rains of Mercy and Blessings upon the Holy
Mazaar Shareef of Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahle Sunnat ؓ◌, who in this
era taught us and instilled in our hearts the true meaning of loving and
respecting the Beloved Rasool .
May we all be blessed on the Day of Reckoning to recite this blessed Salaam
together with Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam e Ishq o Muhab’bat Ash Shah
Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Qaadiri Barakaati ؓ◌.
May we all remain steadfast on Maslak e Aala Hazrat, which in this era is
the recognition of the path of Righteousness. Aameen
