V. Materials:
• Game Board
• Game Pieces

VI. Pre-Lesson assignments and/or prior knowledge:
The students will be read a book about multiplication. The teacher will talk about how the
product of any number multiplied by one is that same number. We will do a pre-game
with pegs and ask the children to make a certain amount of groups and then count to get
to their product. For example, if there are three groups and four pegs in each group,
3x4=12. They will be ready to participate in the lesson activity.

VII. Lesson Beginning:

We are going to hook the kids into the lesson by telling them that we are going to pretend
to be superheros. Each box they land on is a problem they need to solve to save the
world. Whoever reaches the finish line first, is the superhero who saved the world first.

VIII. Instruction Plan:

• Students will be put into 6 groups of 2.
• Each table will have a board game, 2 moving pieces and a die.
• After each pair has played the game once, students will go back to original seats.
• A piece of paper with multiplication questions will be on them to see if the children
understood the concept of the game.
• After children finish worksheet, they will go over the answers.
• The worksheets will then be collected.
• After all worksheets are in, they will have a discussion on the topic.

IX. Conclusion:
Students will share how they liked the game and if they understood the concept. They
will discuss among their peers who won or lost and what mistakes they made. We will
talk about the importance of multiplication and how it used in our everyday life. Explain
the different jobs where multiplication is used and how it is helpful.
