Course Title : Wireless LAN 802 standards

Course Code : 15 EC 4093
L-T-P Structure : 3-0-0-0
Credits :3
Pre-requisite : Computer Networks (15 EC 3111)
Course Coordinator : Mr. N.L.Pratap
Team of Instructors : Nil
Teaching Associates :Nil

Course Objective: To provide an overview of Wireless local area networks and its
applications in voice and datacommunication. To appreciate the contribution of Wireless
LAN 802 standards to overall technological growth. To understand the various terminology,
principles, devices, schemes, concepts, algorithms and different methodologies used in
Wireless Communications.

Course Rationale:The undergraduate course on wireless LAN 802 standards aims to give
insights on understanding of communication systems with a focus on wireless technologies. It
fosters the student’s ability to analyse and design wireless systems for wireless
communication systems. Special emphasis is placed on enhancing the student’s ability to
model the behaviour of wireless systems from circuits, filters and antennas, and to utilise
these models to guide the design and implementation of a variety of communication
techniques.
