RADIO WAVE PROPAGATION MODELING AND SIMULATION

Prof. Dr. Gökhan APAYDIN, Üsküdar University

Abstract

The analytical and numerical modeling of radio wave propagation is a challenging task
and has attracted the attention of researchers for many decades. Radio-wave
propagation over the Earth’s surface and in an inhomogeneous atmosphere is affected by
several scattering phenomena, such as reflection, refraction, and diffraction.
Understanding the effects of varying conditions on radio-wave propagation is essential
for designing reliable radar and communication systems.
In this seminar, recently developed groundwave propagation tools will be presented.
