El trino del diablo, es una sonata para violín en sol menor, una pieza compuesta y

ejecutada por Giuseppe Tartini, uno de los mejores violinistas de todos los tiempos.
Es una pieza para violin extremadamente difícil de tocar y ejecutar. Se dice que
quien toque esta melodía estaría haciendo un pacto con el demonio y quien la
escuche puede llegar a tener pesadillas con demonios posteriormente.

The trill of the devil is a sonata for violin in G minor, apiece composed and performed
by Giuseppe Tartini, one of the best violinists of all time. It is a piece for violin
extremely difficult to play and execute. It is said that whoever plays this melody would
be making a pact with the devil and whoever listens to it may later end up having
nightmares with demons.

“Una noche, en 1713, soñé que había hecho un pacto con el Diablo y estaba a mis
órdenes. Todo me salía maravillosamente bien; todos mis deseos eran anticipados
y satisfechos con creces por mi nuevo sirviente. Ocurrió que, en un momento dado,
le di mi violín y lo desafié a que tocara para mí alguna pieza romántica. Mi asombro
fue enorme cuando lo escuché tocar, con gran bravura e inteligencia, una sonata
tan singular y romántica como nunca antes había oído. Tal fue mi maravilla, éxtasis
y deleite que quedé pasmado y una violenta emoción me despertó. Inmediatamente
tomé mi violín deseando recordar al menos una parte de lo que recién había
escuchado, pero fue en vano. La sonata que compuse entonces es, por lejos, la
mejor que jamás he escrito y aún la llamo “La sonata del Diablo”, pero resultó tan
inferior a lo que había oído en el sueño que me hubiera gustado romper mi violín en
pedazos y abandonar la música para siempre...”

One night, in 1713, I dreamed that I had made a pact with the devil and he was to
my command. Everything I worked out wonderfully well. All my wishes were
anticipated and fully satisfied by my new servant. In happened that, at a certain
moment, I gave him my violin and I challenged him to play some a romantic piece
for me. My astonishment was enormous, when I heard him play, with great bravery
and intelligent, a sonata as unique as I has never heard before. Such was my
wonder, ecstasy and delight that I was amazed and violent emotion that woke me
up Immediately I took my violin wanting to remember at least part of what I had just
heard, but to no avail. The sonata I composed then is, by far, the best I have never
written and I still call it The Devil’s Sonata, but it was so inferior to what I have heard
in the dream that I would have liked to break my violin into pieces and leave music
forever
