Subject: Seeking liberty to select First to Fourth Standard on par with NCERT Syllabus based books
to maintain minimum standard with respect to Maths & EVS subjects.

We the member’s of KAMS having membership number ______________ here by bring to your kind
attention that the State Association already submitted several representations, one among is letter dated
31/08/2016, (several other with respect to text books), towards defective in parts of text book, delay in text
books, factual and printing errors and other hardships, the parts of core subjects supplied by the Government
of Karnataka Text books society for first to Fourth Standard is not maintained to suite the private unaided
school standard with spiral approach, and are also not par with NCERT standards, the same by giving the
details of defects comparing with the observation made by MHRD Department is one of the proof.

In this regard our Association (KAMS) requested Government of Karnataka, Education Minister to provide
permission to facilitate books, uniform and other material in the School and also to provide NCERT
equivalent books at State board schools to maintain common learning level across boards as per NCF and
NCERT norms, in this regard the Education Minister in his direction with certain condition has taken
decision and directed Education Secretary and all Education Department to be directed appropriately for
DDPI & BEO to facilitate.

On this behalf the Education Secretary in its order dated ED 56 PMC 2018, has directed same in the
best interest of parents and common minimum quality education to the need of their children’s.

On behalf of same, we are prescribing KANNADA 1st Language text books and few others from text book
society which will be followed as per regulation and seeking only Maths and EVS relaxation, so that we
shall prescribe text book which are quality with in NCERT curriculum based with spiral approach to match,
The reason is very clear that Private Unaided Schools having Nursery Education and the students have
already 3 years of basic foundation-spiral and integrated approach which is not same when used the

Karnataka Text Books Society prescribed books, the books are very much basic which is made to fit the
government schools children’s as they have no Nursery approach of basic learning and start directly only
from 1 standard.

Hence we as a member of the KAMS, requested in the previous letter too, “until revision of above said
core subjects par with NCERT standards matching across boards and across Country as per the
MHRD-NCERT-NCF norms, we shall be at the liberty to prescribe private core subject text books
suiting to match with quality and spiral approach”.

We request your office, not to reject our text book indent which we have subscribed the titles and quantity
based on our requirement which is clear direction of the education department too, The BEO office
repeatedly rejecting our indent is nothing but trying to forcefully selling books from the text books society,
Karnataka, which is also a private body for profit, who is trying to sell substandard and non compliance of
NCF and NCERT guidelines books, if same force is applied by the education department then we left with
no option are may be forced to approach appropriate or seek legal remedy.

Hence we request not to harass and as per the government order direct all the education department officials
not to repeatedly reject the Text book indent submitted to Text book Society, Karnataka, and shall forward
the indent to them so we receive the same in time and best quality in the best interest school students and
their parents.
