The Philippine Eagle

The Philippine Eagle loves to live in places like the rainforests. However, many of

the Philippine eagles are now found in only few islands.

The rainforests they inhabited before had been destroyed by loggers. Loggers

have cut the trees down where many eagles live in.

The Philippine Eagle has become our national bird because of its strength and

speed. There are many things that the Philippine Eagle can do. It can fly form the

ground straight up and above the trees with great ease. It also eats monkeys, pigs,

goats and squirrels. It lives up to 60 years. This is why it is called the “King of Birds”.

Comprehension Questions:

1. Where does the Philippine Eagle love to live?

2. Why are rainforests very few now?

3. Why is the Philippine Eagle very rare?

4. What should be done to have more Philippine Eagles?

5. Why Philippine Eagle has become our national bird?

c. Generalization

What was the story trying to tell us?

After 15 minutes, each group will present in front of the class.)
