Part 2: Record an audio with your personal presentation including name, age,
program you study, city where you live, favorite movie – pie – drink – song –
sportsperson-, and activities you usually do on Sundays. Besides, you must talk
briefly about why the English is the most important language all around the world.
“Hi. My name is Nixon Esneyder Sasa Gonzalez. I'm 21 years old. I was born in
Acacias Meta and I live in it. Now I am a student of the Environmental Engineering
Program at UNAD. I'm an assistant and I work in a hardware store. I like the movie
Ferdinand's Journey, my favorite cake is three milks, my favorite drink is the araza
juice, the song that I like the most is "it's my life" and I do not like sports very much.
On Sundays I like to go for a ride on the cobalt road and go to the river to cool
down.
For me the English language is the most important in the whole world because
almost all the countries have a fraction of the population that speaks it, therefore it
allows communication even if it is not a resident language. It also allows access
not only to travel, but also to aspire to have employment abroad.”

In the intermediate evaluation of the virtual room there are six activities:
-Activity 3 - Writing Assignment - To write a text about a specific topic.
-Activity 4 - Quiz 1 Unit 1 - To check your advances in Unit 1
-Activity 5 - Speaking Assignment - To have an interview about an specific topic
-Activity 6 - Quiz 2 Unit 2 - To check your advances in Unit 2
-Activity 7 - Task - General Course Review - To assess your performance in the
course
-Activity 8 - Task - Oral and written production review - To assess your
performance in activities

b) Why is it so important to check the “Course Forum”?

It is very important because there are interventions made by the tutors for the
development of the course activities, in addition to allowing questions to answer
questions about the activities.

c) Where can you find the number of your group and the name of your tutor?

You can find them in the "participants" link, this link is on the left side of the
course in the box called "navigation".

d) How many topics are there in the Unit 1? Mention the topics that belong to this
unit.

According to the knowledge environment, unit 1 has five themes:

1. Topic 1: Compound Adjectives
2. Topic 2: Modal Verbs
3. Topic 3: Past Progressive
4. Topic 4: Time and enough clauses
5. Topic 5: Use of-forms
e) Explain with your own words the aim of the link Listening and Pronunciation
Tools (Practice learning environment).

The purpose of the "Listening and Pronunciation File" link is to help improve the
listening and pronunciation skills of English phrases or vocabulary, allowing
speech correction and accent recognition in some words to differentiate and
understand them.

- Why is it so important to learn English in order to have better job oportunities?

1. English is important at work because it allows communication between

colleagues or clients from other countries.
2. It is important because it allows the comprehension of texts, programs and
manuals of products that are used in a company.
