Keywords - Wordstorming
These are the key words from which the brainstorming took place: some of them
are nothing but the abstraction of the main mechanics of the two ideas from last
week. From some of them, we set some rules and possibility to encase future
ideas and include previous ones.

• Flat over 3D / Abstract over real / Layering the reality;


• Visual Feedback ( for users, connections, communities);

IDEA
Overview
The main idea is to create a game where the user can create
clusters and communities with other users:
building these clusters and connections they either
contribute to an overall goal or try to withstand
environmental events and threats.

Each user is represented by their personal avatar, which they


are asked to „give life to“ and connect personally with.
Each user has special attributes/abilities which in turn can be
shared with the cluster to give others special abilities.

Social Interaction/ Core Game Mechanics


User sends out Echoes to initiate communication.
When the waves of these echoes meet, a connection is
made and the users can now chat and play minigames
sending waves making contact
together.

Once the interaction happens, these users can choose to


form a cluster together: when a cluster / community is formed,
the users are connected to it.
In this network of connections, the users can always be in
contact with other users of the same network (chat function).

Map/ Game World


The whole board where the game takes place is a 2D world
limited by specified borders.
Resources to collect and damaging elements (threats) are
placed in this game world.

Create long-term connections through building clusters: not
only people get rewarded for opennes to new connections,
but also when they have a long time lasting connection in the
game.

Connect with the other users to give your cluster special


abilities and more protection: strength is in number.

Avatar/ Game Entry
Each user‘s avatar gets specific attributes after answering
a set of questions: these questions would be either more
generic and more personal, in a way, to identify them.

These attributes then should reflect the personality of the user


and can be useful to the community.
It‘s alive!
In the first place, user „gives life“ to the avatar by tapping,
having the phone vibrating and making it feel like a real being.

Level System/ Progress/ Journey


The levelling up system is set through collecting experience
points (EXP): earning EXP happens by building up your cluster,
playing minigames, collecting resources, contacting users or
using your special abilities.

The progression is a visual feedback by changing the


appearance of avatar and the whole cluster itself.

Earning new abilities or develop existing ones happens by


levelling up (with a simple, easy, skill tree).
