How to narrow down connectivity problems:

1. Check the LED Status
2. Check Windows Firewall
3. Check other Firewalls
4. Check other active network connections (e.g. WLAN)
5. VPN software security

Control Center Documents (OCC) / Pause Module

Use the Pause module to stop the test and to leave hints
Importing pictures is also possible

© OMICRON Page 11
Control Center Documents (OCC) / Drag&Drop

Use Drag&Drop in the navigation view to move test modules

© OMICRON Page 12
Control Center Documents (OCC) / Multiselection

Use <Shift> + Click to select multiple test modules

© OMICRON Page 13
Control Center Documents (OCC) / Test Options

Change the test options via "Home" tab -> Test Options

© OMICRON Page 14
Control Center Documents (OCC) / Test Properties

Change the properties of a test module via

Right click -> Properties

> Possibility to suppress the print-out of single test modules

Control Center Documents (OCC) / Report Settings

Change the report settings of a test module via

Right click -> Report Settings... -> Define...

> These settings can be set as default for each test module

Control Center Documents (OCC) / Report Settings

The newly defined report standard will be savd as .TPVRep file automatically.
The path is the following:
Windows XP:
> C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\OMICRON\Test Universe\Report Settings

Windows 7:
> C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\OMICRON\Test Universe\Report Settings

> Distribution of report standards is possible by copying of .TPVRep files to

other systems

Control Center Documents (OCC) / Report Tool

The OMICRON report tool allows you to automatically distribute report

settings to other computers

> Report tool can be downloaded from the OMICRON user forum

Control Center Documents (OCC) / ExeCute

With the ExeCute module any file can be executed as part of a test plan
Example1: Open an external Excel file

File Path

Example 2: Open a relay configuration program

TU General / Fault Calculator

Many test modules offer the possibility to automatically calculate specific

output values:

Entry options:
> DireCt
> Line-Line
> Symmetrical components
> Powers
> Fault values
> Impedances (different modes)

TU General / COMTRADE Export

Click COMTRADE-Export to export the signals

You can also use <Ctrl> + <Shift> + <F12>

TU General / Synchronisation to External Voltage

If you connect an AC voltage to BI 10 you can synchronize the outputs of the

CMC to this.

This function can be used in QuickCMC and StateSequencer

TU General / Color Settings

Adapting the color settings in TU via Windows settings:

Windows XP:
> Right click on Desktop -> Properties -> Appearance -> Advanced: Item ToolTip

Windows 7:
> Right click on Desktop -> Personalize -> Window Color: Item Quickinfo

Test Object / Multiple RIO-Functions of the Same Type

You can use more than one RIO function of the same type in one tets object.
You can define the actife function for each test module separately

© OMICRON Page 24
Hardware Configuration / Compliance Voltage

To avoid switching off at contiuous output of high currents the compliance

voltage of the CMC can be adapted.

Hardware Configuration

Press <N> to set the contacts to "not used" fast

Ground Wire Break

Under some circumstances the warning "ground wire break" is always

active.
to deactivate this the registry setting can be adapted.
> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\OMICRON\Hardware Configuration
-> ShowConnectionWarning

QuickCMC / Prefault, Hold Values, Add to Report

Output of a prefault with V = Vn und I = 0 A

Holds the currently generated output values
Adds the test shot to the report

© OMICRON Page 28
QuickCMC / Trigger on Overload

Time measurement via trigger on overload

The time, when the current flow is interrupted, is measured.

QuickCMC / Ramping with Mouse Wheel

When selecting a Signal and a Step Size the mouse wheel button can be activated.
Afterwards the values can be increased or decreased by scrolling up and down.

© OMICRON Page 30
QuickCMC / Ramping of Frequencies

Changing the frequency of a single output:

Deactivate the setting "Link Frequencies"
Or all outputs together

© OMICRON Page 31
State Sequencer / Loop All States

In State Sequencer "Loop All States" can be used to repeat all states in a
loop.

Disctance Characterstic in TransView

If a RIO file with a distance characteristic has the same file name as a fault
record, the impedance trajectories can be displayed together with the
distance characteristics.
