As you get started with NextGen SIS …

1. Start NGS through Additional Service Information link, found in SIS

2. Changing number of items per page (preference) is done at bottom right of page by typing in new number and hitting enter.

3. Searching from here looks for PRODUCT (alias, Alt S/N, serial number)

4. Searching from here, looks for parts or product anywhere


5. Sending Feedback to Caterpillar is found under HELP -> Feedback
6. Carts and Orders can be found under the link with your name

7. Clicking Cat logo or Service Information System/Expanded Mining Products acts as “return home”

8. 8 Using the BACK button is permissible.


9. 9. Autocomplete (after 3rd character) in search boxes eliminates need to type complete number or word.

10. 10. When graphic or parts lists disappears, click on the hide/unhide button
11. 11. Create a cart PRIOR to adding to cart
12. 12. Orders with mixed parts; i.e., Bucyrus (BE) and Cat (AA) is not permitted now. Two separate orders are required
13. Multiple sessions are NOT supported when ordering parts - unpredictable results will occur

13. 14. NGS must be restarted (through SIS) after submitting an order

14. 15. Serviceability - when you receive the “Part cannot be ordered because it’s not serviceable” message, contact the DPSC.

15. 16. Quantity - when the quantity is not a whole number (1.5 meters), contact the DPSC for assistance. NGS accepts only whole numbers in quantity field.
16. 17. Part Number - when the part number is greater than 20 characters, SIS will not accept it for ordering. Contact the DPSC.
