The geometric measurements of tunnels and galleries are necessary for monitoring profiles and drawn in length
during construction or repair work (measures convergence and differential settlements) . These measures often
topographical, are delicate, manual and costly. They require regular intervention of a team on site and not allow
real-time monitoring. Analysis of measures, based on the amplitude, speed and acceleration of movement is not
instantaneous though it often affects driving work.

Cementys developed a reliable continuous measurement method through instrumentation nondestructive entire
sections of the tunnel lining by distributed optical fiber ( fiber applied by rapid taping of a composite web in
tunnel lining ) . The deformations continuously measured on the concrete or masonry refer to the local
convergence of tunnel and used to reconstruct a convergence profile. The same fibers arranged in the tunnel
length possible to precisely measure its longitudinal profile with a pitch of 50 cm ( profile compaction ) . These
deformation measurements allow a geometric track tunnel with a sub millimeter resolution
