CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHOD

In the study that has been conducted, the researchers used the

description type of research design in order to accomplish the desired

result, description design helps provide the answer to the question

associated. Description method or research design helps to provide

answers to the question WHO, WHAT, WHEN, and HOW associated the

particular research problem; a descripted study cannot conclusively as

certain to answers to WHY. It can yield rich data that lead to important

recommendations in practice.

RESPONDENTS OF THE STUDY

The respondents of the study are the Senior High school Students

both grade 11 and 12. The researchers will ask person each section and

that will be the President and Vice-President of each class. The

researchers study talks about the perception of SHS students on

Disaster-Preparedness, which makes them their respondents. The

researchers chose SHS students as their respondents because they are

the most affected by the problem involved.


LOCALE OF THE STUDY

The study “Perceptions of Senior High School Students on

Disaster-Preparedness of University of Luzon” will be conducted at

University of Luzon school campus. It is located at Perez Blvd, Dagupan

City Pangasinan. This is one of the competitive Universities in

Pangasinan that was founded on 1948. It will be conducted in the

University of Luzon because the respondents were here only for the

interview and survey. The rest parts of the paper will be made in room

402, 4th floor.


DATA GATHERING INSTRUMENT

In the study about Disaster-Preparedness, the researchers used

the following instruments to gather information from the perceptions of

SHS students at University of Luzon; Interview and Questionnaire.

Interview and Questionnaire involves asking the respondents to provide

their information about their perceptions on Disaster-Preparedness

based on the interview or questionnaire given by the researchers. The

researchers used these instruments to broaden their knowledge about

Disaster-Preparedness.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

Before the researchers formally started their study, the researchers

gave a letter to the Dean of College of Education. After the letter has been

approved, the researchers immediately asked the SHS students about

their perceptions on Disaster-Preparedness through interview with the

prepared questionnaires to be answered by the respondents. After

gathering information and data, the researchers encoded it to their study

regarding Disaster-Preparedness at University of Luzon.
