intends to discuss the revision of the electoral observation norms during the 20th meeting of its Ministerial Committee of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Co-operation. The meeting, due to take place on Friday, is also expected to assess the political and security situation of the southern Africa region, the consolidation of democracy as well as analysing aspects relating to the SADC Electoral Observation Missions. The event to be hosted by Angola’s capital, Luanda, will also discuss the proposal for the establishment of Southern Africa Liberation Day, the reassessment of the Republic of Burundi’s eligibility to join SADC, the finalization of the Mechanism to pay homage to countries that founded the organization, as well as domestic violence cases, among others.
