As is obvious the analytical solutions for the differential are quite difficult to obtain.But it was wrong

Ohk,you're in 11th(I'm a yr older).The radial component eq,is doable,it's basically sum of centrifugal
force,weight and sprig force providing the required
acceleration,so mΩ2r+mgcosθ−k(r−ro)=d2rdt2mΩ2r+mgcos⁡θ−k(r−ro)=d2rdt2
For the tangential motion it's basically the coriolis force and the component of weight providing
tangential acceleration,so−mgsinθ=m(dΩdt+2drdtΩ)−mgsin⁡θ=m(dΩdt+2drdtΩ).

Coriolis force is no longer in Jee syallabus so it was partly an “out of syllabus”question.But nvm,I
don't they it would affect your score anyway.But answering this question correctly would have
boosted your score to 90+ for sure.

Edit:I also gave interview last yr,couldn't answer simple questions VSEPR theory of water(:P),but
thanks to maths I got abt 88 in interview.

Your Kinetic energy should then be K=m(r˙2+r2Ω2)2.K=m(r˙2+r2Ω2)2.

It's fine.But as I said it was wrong on behalf of the interviewer to opine that it can't be solved by
Newtonian mech.

No. IISER Aptitude Test is only for students who have passed class 12.
