Overpopulation

Pollution, global warming and birth control

There are many problems as there are people in the world and overpopulation is one of

them; Overpopulation, which is the excess of people on earth, is a problem that humanity can

no longer hide since every day we observe the consequences of this in our lives, there are many

reason why we must control it.

Frist, the more people we have in the world, the more pollution there will be; Humans

who are the species that benefits most from the earth, are the first to pollute it, while other

species such as animals follow their natural cycle and take care of the planet, everything that

humans create to improve living conditions, we end up to create is pollution.

Humans consciously or unconsciously are always polluting the planet, not only if we

throw garbage on the street or if we do not take care of the water we pollute, we also do it with

things we do every day that are necessary in our life like cooking or driving. In fact, according

to (Rinkesh, 2009)

Air Pollution is the most prominent and dangerous form of pollution. It occurs

due to many reasons. Excessive burning of fuel which is a necessity of our daily

lives for cooking, driving and other industrial activities; releases a huge amount

of chemical substances in the air every day; these pollute the air.

Air is not the only polluted, water has also suffered this problem; the big companies that

claim to seek the development of cities, are the biggest cause of water contamination with its

chemical compounds bad for health that go to the rivers and drinking water; while these big

companies are getting richer every day, the world is running out of drinking water. In fact,

(United Nations Children’s Fund & World Health Organization, 2017) reports that,

844 million people still lacked even a basic drinking water service.263 million

people spent over 30 minutes per round trip to collect water from an improved

source (constituting a limited drinking water service). 159 million people still

collected drinking water directly from surface water sources.

Second, the earth so far is the only planet with all the necessary conditions for beings

humans to survive however we cause global warming; even if people know it can mean that

someday we have no place to live, they still cause this problem. In fact, ( MacMillan , 2016)

mention that “In the United States, the burning of fossil fuels to make electricity is the largest

source of heat-trapping pollution, producing about two billion tons of CO2 every year.”

Global warming affects us directly even though we do not believe it; rising sea levels,

earthquakes, floods and all natural disasters are consequences of this phenomenon that we

cause. In fact, according to ( MacMillan , 2016)

Melting glaciers, early snowmelt, and severe droughts will cause more dramatic

water shortages and increase the risk of wildfires in the American West. Rising

sea levels will lead to coastal flooding on the Eastern Seaboard, especially in

Florida, and in other areas such as the Gulf of Mexico. Forests, farms, and cities

will face troublesome new pests, heat waves, heavy downpours, and increased

flooding.

Third, throughout the years humanity has tried to have a birth control to reduce global

overpopulation; people who are aware of this big problem
